I have stopped here for lunch on 3 or 4 occasions. First I can tell you is everyone who works here is great. They are all super friendly and welcoming. The food is very good. I have gotten a few different sandwiches and they have been great. The last one I got was a muffuletta. Google it if you don't know but it's really good. All the Italian meats and cheese were fresh. I have bought a loaf of their Italian bread as well. The bread is super soft and tasty. If you like crunch Italian bread this isn't for you. I tried their chicken skewers once and they call it city chicken. It's great with nice flavor. The only thing I have had here I don't care for was the tomato pie. It's a bit doughy but the sauce is decent. I will continue to go here for the great service and the good deli counter. read more

An old bread staple - that's really why you come. The Italian cookies are great too. Skip the cannolis in the fridge - they're wrapped in Saran and just get all soggy. Friday is Fish Fry day and most people come for that. The heros are huge - two people can split a large for lunch. None of the staff was wearing masks and very few of the customers though. read more

Let me set the table; I recently reconnected with my college sweetie, who lives in Binghamton. She'd come down to NJ to see me, so I planned a long weekend in the Southern Tier. Being interested in local specialties (she'd already brought me spiedies!) I did a little research. Guess what I came up with? City chicken! I'd never heard about it, had to google it, and just loved the story. Who'd a thunk that city chicken isn't chicken at all! Upon arrival, I mentioned it was something I wanted to try during my visit-so the next day we headed to Di Rienzo's, where she's gone in the past. It didn't disappoint-tender, moist, juicy, great flavor, and cheap. For sure nothing in Binghamton is like tri-state prices I'm used to. I'll be sure to visit again in the future! read more

Excellent bread/rolls! Great, neighborhood deli vibe inside. I do not know the owner but I think he's an outstanding human being. One of the most genuinely friendly folks you'll ever meet. He seems very happy to be there. An absolute delight! Years ago I walked in and was slightly taken aback by what almost looked like a homeless, older guy eating. I sat at table & ate. This older guy left few minutes before me. When I got outside, owner was outside chatting with the guy as if the owner were honored to be talking to him. After spending years dissecting the merits of Cortese vs. L&B Bensonhurst Sicilian vs. all the other New York City places I have tried. This morning I was describing the great rolls we used to get in Brooklyn/NYC. We had the best delis is the world! He responded by telling me about the great rolls Di Rienzo used to make. So after reading the wonderful reviews here, we jumped in our car and drove 90 minutes. Well, yes . . this is sort of bakery . . . more like a wholesale bread operation. And yes, the bread was fresh and delicious . . . my chicken parm sandwich was okay . . . if you like pizza sauce instead of marina. Yes, it was reasonable. But this is where this review takes a drastic turn. Honestly, the deli resembles a down- on- its- luck, dirty, old gas station stop. I am absolutely shocked other NYC reviewers would find this place so appealing!!! And what pastries? In the dirty case up front I saw an assortment of cookies, half moons and something else . . . but the fly crawling all over them was a real turn off. In the cold case there were some cannoli, eclairs and cream puffs. Even my husband (from Binghamton) was rather shocked. If I ever go near this place again I'm going to grab a loaf of bread and run for my life. read more

first off, i love their breads. i haven't tried all of them yet but when i'm having people up for a BBQ i make sure i get direnzo's sandwich rolls for the bread. i'm wondering if they even deliver to restaurants around here because their buns need to replace every felix roma's keiser roll served in this area. their italian bread is great too, i always make sure to get the one with sesame seeds (that's actually one problem i have with this bakery, they should have clear bags so you don't have to feel which ones have the seeds!). the bread is great for french toast and sandwiches. it can fall apart a bit when you cut it, but i found it helps to turn the loaf upside down and slice it. as for their pizza, i've never ordered on and had it fresh, but i've had it in store and i bought it at Weis before. it's good, cheap, and unique. i haven't had anything else from the kitchen but i hear their fish fry is amazing. unfortunately i'm not a fish guy as for their baked goods, i think all i've had are a few different cookies. what i've had were really good but for some reason i'm left questioning if they were house recipe or if they just bought the dough and baked it on site. read more

Their Friday fish fry is the best. I try to go at least every other week. The fish is super fresh and tastes great with tartar sauce, provolone and veggies on one of their sub rolls. I also like to get their cannoli, and usually get a few of those too. The staff is also pretty friendly. read more

This is a great local bakery. The brownies are incredible and as they should be, (Kyle), without nuts! Seriously though, all the baked goods look incredible and are on display as you walk in. Their cheese pizza is one of, if not my favorite around. I love the dough and sauce. They also have an original style, or authentic style, I forget exactly what they call it, but it's basically dough with just sauce. It's good but it's so heavy on sauce that when I bought a half sheet a lot of the leftover slices had turned mushy from the sauce soaking into the dough by the time I went to eat some more a few hours later. Still a great place. Single slices are .75 and they're just as good cold as warm! read more

The fried fish on Fridays is to die for and without a doubt everybody in this area knows that DiRenzo's fish is the best around !

Their sesame Italian loaf is killer! Nice, soft and sweet, pulls apart like potato bread. 2 days in Binghamton equals 2 empty Di Rienzo bags. Took 2 more on the plane with me. Ran out shortly after landing. Damn you Di Rienzo, for being so good! Oh, and their cold cheeseless pizza is pretty damn tasty as well. Makes me want to go back to the wifey's home town. read more

DiRienzo's Bakery has been a staple in my family for decades! Every Friday during Lent and on Christmas Eve, my family would order fish and we would fight over every last bite. They have the most amazing fish fry every Friday including Wednesday's during Lent. Their mac and cheese is awesome too! And you can't forget the delicious homemade breads and pizza. The staff is always super friendly. I hope DiRienzo's Bakery NEVER closes its doors! read more
