I know it was an accident because I witnessed her jump up on the park bench in the front waiting area and her leg went through it because there was no cushion on the bench. I ended up having to pay $200 for my vet to look at it and do x rays. Luckily it wasn't broken, but I feel like a simple precaution could have prevented it. Whenever I would pick up my dogs lately, they would be so nervous and acted like the couldn't wait to get out of there. I'm wondering what is going on there that I don't know about. They would also reek when I got them back, so I doubt there is very much cleaning going on there. I really hope they can improve.

Rachael ended up being the person who watched our two dogs and she was FABULOUS!!! She set up a meet and greet with us a month before the wedding so that our dogs could meet her in our home where they felt safe. She was immediately so warm, kind and all about our two dogs!! They LOVED her! The weekend of our wedding, she came to our home to pick them up at our designated time while we were at the rehearsal dinner and she sent us photos of them safely at her house where they were playing and having so much fun. The day of the wedding she communicated with us about her whereabouts and even arrived super early to the destination- so prompt and punctual. We actually ended up moving locations for photos due to high wind/weather and she was super accommodating and never once made us feel bad about having to move where she was already parked. She had the dogs dressed in their wedding attire and kept them super safe and secure while we were taking photos. It's a tall task to ask of someone when dogs get really over stimulated as they were pulling a lot and she handled it with pure grace!! She dropped them off on Sunday after we were able to make it home and the dogs were tuckered out from her keeping them busy- she even took them to get ice cream after photos because they did such a good job. I honestly cannot recommend this company and Rachael enough!!!! This was the best decision we could have made and Rachael made us feel so comfortable with the entire weekend, we were never once worried about our precious kiddos. Nail trim with a dremel finish, oatmeal bath, Furminator treatment and even a massage! His coat was like silk and his nails are now at a much healthier length ... I could tell that he was feeling pretty handsome!! I felt that Abby was very connected to the spirit of animals and she went above and beyond with Jack. You can just tell when someone has that "special" aura and she has it! I just really can't say enough about her and the great presence and reputation that On The Ball has in our community. I have also had him there for daycare and it's great. Lots of individual attention which I appreciate. As a side note, Jack went to Mariposa Veterinary Wellness Center yesterday for his checkup and Dr. Carrier was most impressed with how he looked and felt ... Our Foster pups always come home more relaxed and easier to handle after a day's play. Our personal dogs are thankful for that too, being older they just can't keep up with those younger pups. The staff is wonderful and always greet our dogs by name during drop off and give us an "report" on how they did during the day. We've also boarded with DFP for long weekends out of town (our pups don't travel well) atnd always been impressed with the condition they were returned in. For the past 5 years, my two dogs stay here anytime we are out of town (which is around every other month for at least 7 days)-- so we've taken our dogs here at least 30 times. Our dogs are our babies. When we leave town, I never worry about them. The people that work there really and truly love each dog and know each dog's personality. We had a 1 month trip planned just 2 months after one of my dog's bilateral TPLO surgery & the staff made sure that he was babied. When our dogs stay there, they have non-stop fun-- so each time when they come back home, they sleep for 3 days straight. It's a clean facility but does smell like dogs (fancy that!) which might bother someone (if they've never taken their dog to a boarding facility before or don't realize that even the cleanest of dogs tend to have an odor). The cost is reasonable and they collaborate with a few local rescues so your money isn't only going to keep their lights on, it's also going to help save the lives of other dogs (Yay for karma points!). Is it a fancy place? No. And I don't know about your dogs, but neither of my dogs care about fancy. Cotton or cashmere? They don't care. Filet mignon or McDonald's? They would gladly eat both. Where I'm going with this is that this isn't The Ritz Carlton and that's OK-- because dogs don't care. It's safe, clean (but understandably stinky) and the dogs have fun and are loved on. The place I'd used in the past was completely booked, and I started freaking out...until I called Deb's. Yes she had room for them, and yes, she'd love to have them. I actually spoke with her on the phone for 45 minutes and got a feel for the kind of person I was dealing with; a confident, competent expert who has a passion for animals. I dropped my boys off on the morning we left. I was nervous as all get out bc these two are absolute knuckleheads. They're very quirky dogs & the purebred can be extremely stand-offish. He generally trusts nobody except his family and their closest friends. He's a working dog, and his main job is protecting us, so I didn't know what to expect. Everything went very smoothly during drop off. The facility was nice & clean, staff was more than courteous, and there were quite a few dogs outside in the large play area. The dogs all seemed happy & well cared for. Deb came in and after meeting, she took full control & whisked my boys off. I discussed feeding & meds with the gentleman at the front counter, and off I went. I called to check on my dogs & the phone was answered immediately. Everything was great, they were spending equal amounts of time playing outside & relaxing. No issues. I was quite comfortable after speaking with the staff. They were in good hands. When we returned I was eager to pick up my knuckleheads. I arrived a bit after my scheduled 2pm appointment, but it definitely didn't seem to be an issue. Their things were in the waiting room packed up & ready to go. Then came the ultimate test; I'd be able to tell exactly how things went based on my older boys demeanor. We had a bad experience with another well known local kennel & there was no mistaking that he'd been treated poorly. Also he has always been apprehensive and just "out of it" for 2-3 days after boarding. None of that. Both dogs were happy as could be. They were bright eyed & bushy tailed! Ready to go home for sure, but super content. They were clean, well fed & rested. They even got baths before I picked them up. I don't even know how anyone got warmed up enough to my Heeler in such a short amount of time to actually give him a bath, but kudos!! Short version: Deb's Riverview Kennels is a great choice if you're looking to board your pets. In the past I've completely avoided boarding bc it just never worked out. Now that has changed & I'm thrilled that I have a place to "babysit" my boys. I'll definitely return, and I'll also refer them without hesitation. This has made the dogs and the cat very happy and this owner very happy. I get an update on their status and, from time-to-time, pictures of them texted to me. Muttmama has been a pet taxi shuttling dogs and cats to the vet to the groomers. This service is important to me so my pets are not stuck in a kennel all day. I use Muttmama for many overnight stays when I travel. These are especially 'interesting' as I have a dog with special needs - his diet and medications are very regimented and my other option is to leave him with the vet. When I approached Muttmama about this and explained what needs to be done, when, and why, she understood and accepted the assignment without hesitation. Muttmama's helped me have peace of mind about my pets when traveling overnight.
