We love Woof's in Merriam! I started taking my puppy here to help her socialize and to give her the opportunity to run off energy. She was nervous the first couple of times as she warmed up to the other dogs and new people but she loves going now. She hops out of the car and willing goes back to the room to play. She comes home tired and worn out from a half day of play. Woof's has affordable half day and full day packages. Drop off and pick up times are flexible. Plus the pack leaders know the dogs by name which shows they care. Plus they have cameras to check in on your pups while they are at daycare. Definitely recommend it! read more

My dog is spoiled rotten in that I hate to keep him inside all day when I'm at work. The only way I can get through the week guilt free is to take Murphy to daycare at least once a week. That's how it started anyway! I wouldn't take my pup to anywhere other than Woofs. Andy is absolutely fabulous and you can really tell he and his staff love their jobs. I take Murphy there for daycare, boarding, AND grooming. He even has a Royals collar I bought from there (which I didn't take off all season, by the way. You're welcome, Kansas City). It is a little bit more expensive than some places, but when you buy the daycare packages it takes the price down to where it's not as much in the long run. Plus, I think when a place is as good as Woof's is, it is worth the extra money. My dog is like my child and I wouldn't take him anywhere that I didn't trust. I can't tell you how much I recommend this place. UPDATE:: Murphy and I are moving to Idaho, and today was his last day at daycare. When I picked him up, they had a card, which their whole staff had wrote notes of good luck, and some treats waiting for me. I'm serious when I tell you, you CANT get better than this place. When I first went to Woofs we were looking to board our one dog at the time. Immediately we were welcomed with open arms and given a tour of the place. All our questions were answered and were told about their day to day schedule witch was very reassuring. I worked at Woofs as a Groomer and I can confirm the people really care about the dogs and treat them as their own. When we boarded our old dog and two new puppies we watch them be carefully watched over and cared for. Our old dog didn't want to leave when it was time to go home. I've taken my dog Tucker here twice for day play, once for boarding over the weekend, and once for grooming. I give them 5 stars for each of the experiences! The day pay price was standard in my opinion, the grooming was actually cheaper for me than at other groomers for the same quality cut, and the boarding is a little more on the pricy side but the amenities are worth the price. I'm very protective of my boy, so I asked for a tour of the facilities the first time I brought him. The staff was extremely friendly and they were happy to show me around. Whenever they see us they refer to both of us by name and they can always give me a full report of Tucker's time without referring back to notes or anything like that, so I know they truly get to know their customers. I love that have an open indoor/outdoor concept and the dogs are out there from morning until dark with a staff member. I request that Tucker gets breakfast and lunch at a certain time, also to give him a breaks from play, and I know (from checking the cameras) that they follow his same meal schedule that I give him at home. They also set aside all the snacks that you bring on a table near the dog runs, labeled with each dogs name. The cameras are a really nice bonus. I like having the ability to easily check in on him from my phone app. Tucker always looks like he's had a good time and comes home and sleeps the rest of the night. Woofs also offers "report cards" so I know what other dogs he has made friends with and how he did that day. When I took Tucker in for boarding, that was the first time I had boarded him EVER. The staff was extremely reassuring and answered all of my questions. I called a couple of times over the few times they were there and they always picked up and were happy to give me an update on how he was doing. As for the grooming, as I said earlier, coming to Woofs was actually $20 cheaper for me than Tucker's previous groomers. I believe my groomers name was Brittany, and she did an AMAZING job in record time (1 hr 15 min, compared to the 4 hrs I'm used to) I'm pretty picky about Tucker's cut since he has a double coat and sheds like crazy. She listened to everything I said and got it right the first time, even offering to do a touch up if I wanted but it wasn't necessary. Also, they hand blow dry and brush, which I really appreciate because I've heard horror stories about dogs becoming dehydrated and even dying in those dryer boxes. It's not likely to happen, but it made me feel better. I'd HIGHLY recommend Woofs. I couldn't say enough nice things about them. Tucker practically drags me into the building when we go! read more

I've used Woof's a few times now for boarding, and I am incredibly happy with the experience. The facility is spacious, clean and nice and bright. A happy place for happy dogs, I assume. The staff is all great, as well. They seem to be dog lovers, and they seem to be actively engaged with the animals, at least during the daytime hours. The price is pretty much in line with other quality kennels in town. Overall, an incredibly pleasant experience. There are two areas where Woof stands out from the pack (ha!) that I think need to be mentioned. First, your dog has to "audition" to be allowed as part of the Woof Pack. What this means is that before you are permitted to kennel, your dog has to come over for a playdate to make sure they're not some sort of anti-social, bitey rabies machine. My dog can be pretty timid, and it makes me feel good that she won't have to share her vacation with bullies. Second, they have webcams that allow you to log in and check out your dog's playtime from anywhere in the world. I have enjoyed getting ready for bed in Spain and being able to get online and watch my pooch playing her heart out with the staff and other dogs. My small dog, Cooper, did a meet and greet and then his first half day yesterday. Today when I dropped him off all the ladies knew his name and he ran to be with them and looked very happy when they took him back to the other dogs. Woof's is a doggy paradise! Dogs need to get out of your house the same way you do. How would you like to be stuck in the house all day every day staring at the same boring walls waiting for someone to come home at the end of the day just to give you a pat on the head, maybe a walk, then expect you to go back to bed? They have separate play areas depending on the size and temperament of your dog. What's great is each play area has an indoor and outdoor area so they can do their business outside and go inside if the weather is bad. This is something that frustrated me about Pete 'n Macs...the small and medium dogs had to stay inside and were forced to go to the bathroom on the floor. What I like the most, though, is that they have webcams everywhere. So while I'm at work I can check in on my pups and see what they're up to. They always look like they're having a great time running around with the other dogs. The groomer there, Shelly, is really good, too. They have different types of accommodations for boarding depending on the size of your dog. I like the private suites with a bed, TV and private webcam for my dogs because I like being able to check in on them at night when I'm out of town. My dogs love it there. All I have to say is "Woof's" and they know where we're going! A full day of daycare is $22, but they also have packages where you can buy multiple days and it ends up being less per day. read more

We've used Woof's for all of our doggy boarding, grooming, and daycare needs over the past year and a half, and I have to say that I'm definitely a fan...and our doggy boys are, too! We checked out Woof's prior to boarding our dogs there, and were pretty impressed. We had just dropped in, so we saw the place in all of its working glory, and it was clean and all of the dogs seemed happy and comfortable. Each dog has to be a member of the Woof Pack before they can stay at Woof's, which is a nice idea - they make sure each dog staying is social and comfortable around other dogs so that there are as few "personality conflicts" as possible. After having a look around, we booked our dogs in for a Woof Pack assessment, and they passed with flying colors. The staff here really seem to be great with dogs. Our pups are recognized the minute they come in, and each staff member remembers their "quirks" (ie: they don't wear collars while they're at Woof's, our dachshund is shy and hates having his nails trimmed, etc.). Last year when we were away, our dogs developed some irritation on their necks from their collars, and the staff actually called us to let us know what was going on, and to ask if it was alright if they took off their collars. I feel like that's really going the extra mile, and appreciate how close of an eye they keep on our dogs, and how much they want to be sure they're happy and comfortable. Our dogs are always happy when they go to Woofs, and happy (and tired) when we pick them up. We're able to bring our own food and toys when we drop them off for overnight stays, and I love that the staff don't over-feed our boys. I always send along extra food, just in case, and the extras always come home with them. Any time we get them a bath they come out looking great, and with stylish bandannas on, even if it's just a standard bath and not a full grooming. Love it. The dog play areas are separated by size, and each area has both an indoor and outdoor play area. I can check on our boys via web cam any time, which is great for when we're traveling and I'm missing them. I do feel like Woof's is a little bit expensive for overnight boarding, even though we get a bit of a discount for boarding the boys together, which is the only reason they don't get 5 stars. However, the dogs do get great care at Woof's, so I shouldn't complain about the price. It's a relief to know that we don't need to worry about our boys any time they're at Woof's. I'm definitely a fan, and we'll certainly keep going back. read more

Last year I adopted my first dog, a deaf puppy with visual impairments as well. I knew she needed lots of socialization from a young age to ensure she didn't turn out to be a fearful, deaf dog. Woof's in Merriam was recommended to me by a friend who takes their dog there. I took Nova there as soon as she had all her shots and she has loved it from day one. The staff are so friendly and kind. They asked me to show them the sign language I use with Nova so they could "talk" to her too. I chat with the staff each time I take Nova in and pick her up. They all genuinely seem to enjoy working there and know all the dogs by name. I also used to work at an animal shelter and Woof's partnered with us to help homeless pets. One time when the HVAC went out during the winter, Woof's boarded 10 of our large dogs for FREE until the heat was fixed. This is a great daycare full of great people who truly care about your pet(s). read more

I love Woof's! We take our dog, Holmes, to Woof's once a week and he loves it. Every Friday he sits by the front door and waits for us to get him ready to go to "doggie day care" (he absolutely knows what those three words mean!) Holmes is an incredibly energetic dog and it takes a lot to tire him out. By the time he gets home from Woof's, he eats dinner, and promptly flops on the floor and falls asleep. Holmes loves everyone and everything (dogs, people, cats) and I know he loves playing with the other dogs (I can see from the webcams, which, by the way, are awesome and always make my Fridays a bit more awesome) The staff are incredibly nice and I love reading Holmes' report card every week. I also really love that they separate the rooms by size. Holmes is really energetic and its good for him to be able to play with dogs his own size he can keep up with. Really, I can't say enough how much I love this place. People say their prices are kind of high, but I think for the services you get, it's absolutely worth it. read more

My dog and I love Woof's! I watch him on camera via my iPhone and occasionally catch the staff holding him and loving on him. It's so appreciated. My only complaint is that on Fridays before holiday weekends there are TONS of dogs, and I know that can be overwhelming for my little one- And it's frustrating when only 2 of the pens are being used, instead of all 3 (small, medium, large) on days when it's crowded- might be understaffing at that particular moment, but if that's the case then a dog number limit might be a good thing, even if it means that I have to take my dog elsewhere just on that particular day. That said I'm still really happy with this place and love the staff! My doggie is exhausted and better behaved after a long day at Woof's ;) read more

I've used woofs twice now and I have to say I'm impressed! It's a bit more pricey than pet smarts dog daycare but here they get to go inside or out and seem to have a lot more room to roam. They are also great about getting you in last minute. I called on a Saturday at 10:30 to try and get him in to day camp at noon and it was no problem. All the staff members that I've met have been amazing and seem to genuinely want to be there. When I came to pick my dog up from his first trial day the man who greeted me at the counter said "oh Jasper, we all loved him. He's such a sweetheart" it really made me feel like the staff cared about the animals they take care of. They also offer boarding and grooming. I haven't tried either yet but if and when I need those services I wouldn't hesitate to use either one! read more

Woof's is amazing! I have a blind golden retriever and he loves it at Woof's. He gets to play outside all day and being able to watch him on the Woof Watcher's cameras eases my anxiety. My dog also gets anxiety when he is in a crate, so when he is feeling overwhelmed in his room they let me know and give him extended breaks to make him feel better. I've been taking my dogs to Woofs since I moved to KC 2.5 years ago. The facility itself is excellent and clean, and I love that they have a sectioned off area that you can speak with the front-desk staff without having to yell over copious amounts of barking dogs. The staff is truly incredible, especially Chad who I swear has the best memory of anyone I've ever met. I can call him at any time and he remembers both me and my dogs, and all of my little nuances (an in turn, my dogs nuances). I felt terrible one year b/c I had to board my dog over his birthday, and they surprised me with an adorable birthday card for my dog, which made me feel so much better knowing that he was getting the attention he deserved on his birthday. Yes, this place is expensive, but that is because you get top-notch service. I have since moved across town and use a different spot for day-play, but refuse to overnight board my dogs anywhere other than Woofs because they truly are the *very* best. This means I drive 30 minutes out of my way each direction in order to ensure my dogs are being taken care of in the way that I am comfortable with. From the webcams, themed penthouse suites, and the exceptional staff, I cant fathom boarding my dogs anywhere else. read more

So my dog, Penelope, should be writing this. But since anyone that has met Penelope knows that, even as dogs go, she's not the brightest, I'm going to take over for her. However, we both love Woofs. I will admit I'm not the kind of girl who thought she'd be taking her dog to day care. But this winter, with all the snow and the grossness that has hit Kansas City, it's pretty necessary for her to get some exercise and company during the day. And she comes home all kinds of happy and bouncy... and then falls asleep for the rest of the night. And when I had to go out of town for a trip for four days, she stayed there, and yes, I could check on her via video. I admit I actually did this, and there she was. And also, when my flight ran late, I called, and they basically assured me that as long as I was on my way, someone would wait til I got there so she could come home. And that was really sweet. So basically? Woofs is awesome. It's pretty easy to get to for most in KC, and, let's face it, gives you the opportunity to get a latte at Caribou before heading back into midtown to go to work. It's not like it's two minutes from me, but it's easily accessible, and the care the dogs receive is awesome. And come on, my dog was gets a report card at the end of the day. Just in case I didn't know she was adorable, and that everyone at Woofs was great, I have report cards that pretty much make that obvious. read more

I don't have anywhere else to compare Woof's to, but that's because I like it here so much. Well, I mean, it seems fine, anyway. But I spend considerably less time here than the dogs do, and they can't tell me about the place. In fact, the staff is so nice here, it makes me wonder if there's some Happy Gilmore kind of stuff going on. You remember how Happy has to put his grandma in a nursing home while he is playing in golf tournaments, and the staff is extremely friendly to his face but when he leaves it turns into a nightmare for the residents? But that can't be true here, because they have cameras so you can monitor online what's happening (no one is running out into traffic and slamming into cars, for example). Also, I'm not participating in golf tournaments. I'm aware that if you haven't seen Happy Gilmore, that just made no sense. Actually, I guess the dogs sort of are able to tell us how much they like it here because whenever my girlfriend or I drop them off, they act like they can't get to the front door fast enough. Granted, our husky is that way with any door; she just wants to go anywhere at all, seemingly with no regard whatsoever. Anyways, this is specifically why I like Woof's: - Practically every time I walk in the door, someone has already gotten up to go back and retrieve the dogs for me. It shows that extra step to dedication to hooman customer service. - They clearly pay attention to the dogs because I often get a full daily report on how the dogs behaved that day, plus they demonstrate that they're fully aware of your dog's name and tendencies after just a few visits. It shows that extra step to dedication to dog customer service. - It seems like the owner, Andy, has made it just a fun and stress-free place to work because there's good camaraderie between the associates and they're always chill and engaging when you walk in. And he's often present, meaning he's not being lazy and "working from home". - The dogs aren't kenneled. I don't understand why you would bother to pay a business that's just going to let your dog out every now and then. Like if you're gonna do that, just leave your dog at home. Called up Woofs during a recent storm and my house was out of power. Due to it being mid summer I was worried about my pup being in the heat. I have driven by Woofs several times but never needed to board my dog. I called woofs and instantly the lady on the phone was rude. She didn't seem interested in any new business and when she heard my dog was an American Staffordshire terrier she instantly said "no pittbulls" and basically hung up. My dog gets along well with both humans and other dogs. It's a shame to see not only such ignorance as a policy at this type of place but the over all rudeness even before my dog wasn't allowed. For what its worth a pitbull is not the same as an American Staffordshire terrier. Unless ofcourse you want to include english/american bulldogs, boxers and any other bully breed in that. Such an blanket ban really makes me hope this place goes under and is reopened under ownership that isn't completely inept. read more

This place makes me feel secure when I drop off my dogs. I was testing some different places the week before I started my new job full time. I know this is strange but I literally watched the camera at each place I took them for 3 hours straight lol. Dog Pawz in the crossroads was awful-not a single human being acknowledge my dogs. The only time a human had contact with them was when another dog pottied and they came in an cleaned it up really quick then left. I LOVE this place because while I watched online, there was an attendant in with the dogs the entire time. They played with my dogs, pet them, and genuinely looked like they really enjoyed being in there with the dogs! I could tell the attendant had established relationships with some of the dogs who went there often too. This place gave me piece of mind that someone's taking care/loving on my pups when I'm away. read more

Where do I start with this place? My dogs are very spoiled and I am very picky when it comes to where to leave them. This is the ONLY place my boys stay. For one... I think it says a lot about the practices of a place like this to have webcams on every angle of the play yards and even in some of the suites. I also rest assured in the fact that I can see someone watching the dogs at all times. We are far from being the most frequent customers, but the staff still recognizes our dogs when we walk in. They will even give you a cute report card on your dog. One of my dogs always used to wine for me when I left him for boarding or daycare. Here, he just takes off for the back with the staff. I love this place and highly recommend it to others! read more

Woof's is A++++ in my opinion. I have taken my golden to two other daycare facilities, one in Overland Park near I-435 and Roe and one near Boulder, CO. Woof's by far surpasses either of them. We are totally happy here! I took my golden to the facility in Overland Park because they would take him before I neutered him at one year old. They had a "much" smaller area inside and outside area for the dogs to play in. My dog was "never" tired when I brought him home from that other daycare. The other place only put the dogs out to play 2 hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon and then the dogs were put in individual kennels for the vast majority of the day. The final blow to make me go on and neuter him so I could bring my boy to Woof's was that another dog bit my dog and second dog on the same day at the Overland Park daycare. Luckily, it wasn't serious, but to solve the situation, they started letting my boy out only 2 hours in the morning and letting the dog who bit my dog and another dog out in the afternoon. I was paying for full day at the Overland Park daycare for 1 hour and 45 minutes of group play. I LOVE Woof's. My boy loves going there! He is tired "every" time he comes home. I bring him home and feed him dinner, and then he falls asleep. I really wanted to take him somewhere that they had indoor and outdoor play areas. So many places I went to look at were only indoor play. I don't want my dog going potty inside. I love that the areas to play in at Woof's are large enough so that they can run around and get tired inside and outside. Of course, I love being able to check in during the day on the webcam. Woof's have the cameras situated where you can always find your dog and see what they are doing. (That is also something that the Overland Park daycare sucked at. Their cameras pointed at a corner of the yard and at a table. You could never find your dog.) Andy, the owner, has always been at the front desk when I come to pick up my boy. He always has a big smile and is ready to tell you how your pup did that day. One day my guy got really dirty, and Andy went beyond nice and had him shampooed before I got there. They are the best! Colorado is super dog friendly. But the best rated dog daycare near Boulder had a very small play area. I thought my boy was tired at the end of the day, not from running and playing, but from being awake all day. We love Woof's, and I don't know how they could improve it. So glad I discovered Woof's! In preparing for a week-long vacation (the longest I've left my chorkie Oliver) I researched multiple boarding places in the KC area. I looked at type of boarding, location, price, and reviews. Woof's looked really good, had great reviews and I loved the straight-up, no hidden fees pricing, so I decided to check it out. I went in to take a tour and was really pleased with what I saw. Oliver went in for his "Meet-n-Greet" that weekend. He was nervous at first, as he usually is when I've left him for boarding in the past, but when I came back to pick him up a few hours later he was happy and excited. When I came in to drop him off for the boarding stay he was excited and happily left to go back and play without a second thought. This is the best I've felt about leaving him somewhere, and I chalk it up to the free "Meet-n-Greet" that they require. So great! I picked him up today and he was excited to see me, but also ran around to say goodbye to the staff up front. He had another great report card. I love that they offer these. It helps me feel like I know what he was doing while he was there, especially since I was out of the country and couldn't log on to the video cams (Though my mom did and said he was having fun!). He must have had fun, because he's been sleeping since I brought him home! Nothing makes me happier than to see a pooped-out, happy pup. Thanks Woof's! We'll be back for sure! read more
