Today I brought the family down from Oklahoma to see the U.S. vs Bolivia soccer match in Dallas. Afterwards, we decided to grab some dinner nearby before heading home. Bunions was a place on the map that we were not familiar with and decided to give it a go. The atmosphere was very interesting...a bit of a dive bar vibe, and part honky tonk. The burger sliders were great on my opinion. My boys both got Binion Burgers and gave them the thumbs up. My wife got the fish&chips and liked it. The surprise of the night was my daughter, who is normally an insanely picky eater...scarfed down a whole plate of the Binions mac&cheese. read more

It's basically a bar that serves food. We've only been there one time since we like to go out on Sunday to local restaurants. Unfortunately the only menu that they serve on Sunday until 2:00 p.m. is their brunch menu which is very limited and mostly breakfast. The first time was to watch a Monday night NFL game. We found out they do dollar wing night on Mondays. The wings are great and the onion rings are the best I've ever had! This is a 3.5 that I am rounding up because I believe my experience was hampered by circumstance. My friend and I came early evening on a Friday, before going to a show at the theater in GP. The weather was awesome and Front street was packed. I remembered seeing a buddy of mine post from a burger spot, next to the police station, on West. We didn't know if it had a patio, but we were very pleasantly surprised, at that. If you are not familiar, West is a little tiny street next to the central Police station, that runs under the train tracks. There are a handful of parking spots up front, but plenty of people were parking in the grass next door. There are steps to get in, so fair warning. All of these old buildings were mostly garages and seedy car lots, so it is nice that Division is expanding it's range. I recognized the bartender, she is a friendly lady that I have seen at Bentleys in the past. We told her we were wanting a spicy cocktail, and she said she got us. She ended up making us a spicy pineapple margarita. I believe it has some of their salsa verde in it. It hit the spot. The patio was great, and they had garage doors they were opening, in anticipation of live music, I believe. The problem ended up being, we got there at the same time people were showing up for a birthday party, and people were starting their Friday nights. Only the bartender was working the front of the house. I don't know if this was regular operation, or again, circumstance. We weren't in a hurry and she was great, we put in a food order as well, at the bar. We both ordered the bacon and blue cheese burger. As with the front, the kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed a bit. The burger patties seemed frozen, but decent quality. The problem was they were not seasoned AT ALL. Bland meat. The toppings were good, but couldn't get it there. And my bun was BURNED. Inside, outside, it was charred. The fries had a paprika seasoning on it, but again no salt. However they were cooked really well. The prices were good, the service was friendly, they have a lot of room to really make something of it, but that night it definitely needed more staff and attention. read more

Been open a few months at this point. Couple blocks the other side of the beaten path of central Arlington "entertainment" that includes Babes, Grease Monkey, Tipsy Oak, etc. but worth the visit. I've been a couple of times and right now I really like the place. Nice size inside, nice long bar. The usual crowd favorites on tap, but no problem, decent selection of cans and bottled beer in the coolers. Full bar, looks like the couple of bartenders I've seen know how to make some decent cocktails past the usual tonic, coke, and whatever. Saw a very interesting old fashioned, but haven't gotten any liquor here yet. Thing that brought me in was they offer food, and it's much better than just run of the mill bar food. Menu is very limited right now, but it has some good stuff on it. They have burgers, chick sandwiches, wings for main stuff, then a few apps and some sides. I've had the chips, salsa and a yellow cheese queso. The salsa was very good, the queso was good, but I wish it had a little more taste kick to it. It's the kind of queso that doesn't get thick and clumpy on you, and that's a big plus for me. The chips they use aren't my favorite, but it would never keep me from getting them again. You also get a pretty good portion of it. A good value on the menu. I've also gotten the cheeseburger and fries. Pretty impressed with both. They grill the bun, have cheddar or swiss, and it tasted really good and fresh. The fries have almost a coating of seasoning on them that's different than the norm, and they were really good as well. Three big TV's up behind the bar, and I saw another one over on the side wall. So you can mostly see what is on, but there are several blind spots. I think there are a couple of roll up garage doors in the back that open onto a big patio where they allow smoking. No TV's on the patio tho, that would be nice if they could put a couple out there. Big "yard" next to the patio, saw a cornhole board out there if you're into that sort of stuff. Small amount of parking out front, more parking on a vacant grass lot next to the place and we heard that you can park at the cleaners across the street after the cleaners have closed for the day. West street is pretty wide and I think you can also park on the street there and the adjoining street as well. So that honestly shouldn't be a problem unless you're a pansy and can't walk more than fifty feet or so. Service has always been fast and friendly. Food comes out made to order, correct as ordered, and hot. In this day and age kind of surprised by how good the visits have been and will be making this one of my places to go in the area. read more

We wanted burgers and fries and we wanted to give them a try. Y'all have to check out Binions! They are new and have a trial by fire menu. The menu is small but everything is very well made. Super fresh ingredients with THICK sliced veggies (which I absolutely love!) The buns for the burger are super good. Burgers could do with a little more seasoning. Fries are hand cut and delicious. Super reasonable priced. We had 4 beers and 2 meals and it was under $40. Top it off with a fantastic atmosphere. Big doors opening to the outside, great deck, cornhole area! read more

I had heard great things about Binions from multiple people, so I am willing to give it another chance at some point, but damn, first impressions mean a lot, too. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a little Sunday Funday, and there was a nice size crowd. However to my 30-something ears, the place was LOUD. Like night club loud, but at 3 in the afternoon. It was fine - there is a great big outdoor space - but still. I felt (and feel) old complaining about it, but the rest of my party agreed. Service was okay. We weren't really greeted, or ever knew who our waitress was, and it was very slow. The specials listed on the website weren't actually accurate specials, which meant there were none that we cared about. And, if this is something that you care about or bothers you, the place has a 'locals only' vibe. (Maybe once I become a local, I will get to be a part of the in crowd.) We didn't try the food (except for the fried pickles which were standard), which everyone is raving about so I'd love to come back and try it. read more

Ended up here because I'd heard great reviews on an Arlington foodies page. Was about 9:00/9:30 on a Wednesday night so not a lot of people, but it was clean, the service was good, and the food was very good. We decided to try the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and veggies and the fish & chips with fries. We both had some of each.... So very good. Just a nice place for a beverage with a nice outdoor area, great music and a very nice staff. I would rate the style of this place as an upscale dive bar with Lots of parking. I am very particular about my Chicken Fried Steak. I prefer mine pan fried (or on the flat top) so that is not all crust and very little meat. I tried Binions Ice House, and OMG! The CFS was a thick cut of beef and it was not all crust. Of course, Mary's in Strawn, Tx. is still my number one overall. But I want something closer, so I can get there more than once every 4-6 months. This place is my new favorite, I can't believe I haven't seen this place. Their home fries were thick cut, and served hot. I don't eat many vegetables, but their green beans were really good. (I will never reference a vegetable as being superb, but my wife said they were some of the best she had had in a long time) We were the only ones in the place, because we got there right when they opened, so our service was excellent and very friendly. Cool little place to hang out at but the food is mediocre.We ordered the sliders,onion rings along with the chips and queso.Let's start of with the sliders.What can I say?dry and tasteless.The onion rings were hand made but the breading fell apart and once no seasoning.Now the queso.It just looked liked they took a piece of velveeta cheese and melted it in a bowl.It was cold by the time we got it and was just plain.Not sure how they could call that queso?Not to mention the chips seemed stale.The only thing that was half way decent was the fries that came with the sliders.Also my wife ordered a margarita.I'm not sure what that was but it definitely wasn't a margarita.I'll give the manager props.He was very nice and took off the margarita and chips and queso.Overall we were disappointed and it's very doubtful will be back.Also apparently it's a New York jets hang out.We were sitting there and all these jet fans started piling in.Which is not that big of deal but I'm not sure if I want to hang out with a bunch of Jet fans. read more

Binions is the best down home, up and coming ice house-style restaurant/bar in downtown Arlington. The food coming out of the kitchen is top notch - in keeping with its sister establishment 10 Bells in Dallas. The staff is attentive, the drinks are well made, and the beer Yellow Cheese Quesois cold. It's unlike any thing else in downtown Arlington ... and it doesn't have to be like anything else. Binions has unlocked a new concept in downtown Arlington and it'll be a significant part of the continued rejuvenation of downtown as a place for great food, great, drinks, and great entertainment. Okay ... There are so many great reviews about Binions (specifically the burgers) we checked it out. It's a cute bar and clearly has some regulars. The bar area seemed clean ... the bartender/server was very friendly and did a great job keeping up since he was clearly the only staff but it did not hamper service. The crowd .... Uhmmm yikes, definitely different. The lady at the bar GRINDING on the stool was certainly entertaining #vom (we did get some good laughs). The beer was cold but the cocktails were not good at all ...titos and topo shouldn't be hard but I'm not sure it was actually vodka. The burger itself was pretty decent (certainty not 4-5 star worthy) - but please, whatever you do, use the ladies room before you leave the house cause that was downright nasty!!!! #doublevom read more
