This is just one of these places that you will always remember. Hamburgers the way we remember, and thought we would never taste again...they are here. Frito Pie like I never thought I would find in a restaurant....it's here. The fries and rings that we used to share with our friends with an ice cold soda....they are here too. My wife and I enjoyed another awesome dining experience at Al's Hamburgers. We so love the restaurant. One of the nice things is that there is plenty of room between the tables. Everything is spread out very nicely. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated immediately. At the time we arrived the restaurant wasn't busy at all, which was nice. Randy, our attentive server, greeted us as we were taking our seats and took our drink orders. My wife and I both ordered diet cokes to accompany our burgers. My wife ordered a hamburger and fries, and I ordered the chili cheeseburgers and rings. We were seated back by the kitchen area. I loved watching the cooks in action. It brought back wonderful memories of my decades in the food service business. After a short wait, Randy delivered our burger baskets to our table. Oh yummy, both of our entrees looked so good. My wife loves Al's home cut French fries, and I love their onion rings. Both of our burgers lived up to our expectations. They were AWESOME, just like homemade off the flattop at home. You know the saying, "you get what you pay for "? It's true at Al's Hamburgers. Worth every penny (or is it nickel now?). I was greeted at the door and sat at a table. Took my drink order and waiter came promptly to take my order. Ended up getting the double patty melt and it did not disappoint. Perfectly toasted bread, carmelized onion, and melted cheese with fresh tasting, hot-off-the-grill beef patties that were so tender. Not tough or chewy at all. Had the tots to round it off which were crisp, fresh, and delicious. Can't wait to try other menu items as they look to have a few winners. Just wanted to give an update on Al's Hamburgers. This new location is very nice with plenty of seating. Nice outdoor seating if you want outdoor eating during nice weather. This is a diner setting where you sit down and order. They also have more than just hamburgers. A complete menu with salads, chicken fried steak, meatloaf, just about everything. I really like the double double hamburger with onion rings cooked extra crispy. The service is the best, very nice and friendly. The price is not cheap, around 32.00 dollars for 2 double double meals plus tip. I feel it is worth it for the quality of a hot and juicy burger with great service. read more

I can't believe I've never been here, I've lived in this area forever & this was the first time I step foot in Al's Hamburgers. Staff was so polite, I am not sure who the girl was that greeted me as I walked in but as I made my way toward my friends she took my drink order... she wasn't even our waitress. Ms. Betty was our waitress. She arrived to take my drink order promptly as the other young lady was bringing my drink, great teamwork! Ms. Betty checked in on us just often throughout our time there & wasn't overbearing... she was superb! Apparently my friends go here often, I asked what they recommend & they said there hasn't been anything they didn't like. The only thing they said was that the fries were so-so. Been going to Al's since I was a kid in the 80's we used to go to the original location. Then we went to the "new" location on Green Oaks and 157. The "newest" location is very nice! Not as cool as the original, but I like it better than the 2nd. The fries are the same as they have always been. The burgers were good. In my opinion they need to be smashed a little more. Service was great. The crowd on a Wednesday night was on the older side Not many burger places like this left. Pretty awesome that the newest location is next to a Mama's Pizza! The BEST burger I've had in a long time!!! I got the brisket, short rib, hamburger meat burger!!! OMG!!!! I'm a burger brat and to me the perfect burger is a toasted buttery bun, the patty not to thick not to thin, and xyz!! I've had a cheesesteak, and it was well made too. Burger patties are fairly large, just the right amount of grease, loaded with cheese and toppings. Went into the store looking to do a to go order and they were very quick with their service! The waitresses were nice and attentive. There was a lot of rangers and sports items that hung on the wall and felt very comforting. When I got back home, the food I had was delicious. A classic diner-style cheeseburger with thin patties and lots of gooey American cheese, dressed "Texas Style" with bright red tomatoes, plenty of crisp lettuce, onions, and mustard. Jon and I each had the "famous double double" with fries for $10.79, mine was bun-less and I upgraded to sweet potato fries. Delicious. The fries were super hot and crispy and the burgers had great seasoning. I'm not used to those thin hamburger patties but they were so good and filling. I ate them both and couldn't finish my fries. Al's has been around in Arlington for a long time but it's still pretty new to it's current location in Fielder Plaza. I think it's a great addition to the shopping center, a classic American diner with a bar. The menu isn't just burgers, they have lots of great comfort food like chili, chicken fried steak, stuffed hamburger steak, pot roast and mashed potatoes, meatloaf and green beans, quesadillas, grilled cheese, sausage dip, soup. Certainly something for everyone. This is a very casual, bright, open, family-friendly atmosphere with a small bar. It's a large, spread out space. Clean and comfortable with really friendly service. If this was the size of their "big" burger, I could never order a regular-sized one. Customer service was EXCELLENT. The lady behind the counter who took my card was very sweet. They smiled and were friendly (smile is in the eyes, nowadays). I'm a burger snob. I try to preface with this.......I won't be back for another hamburger. It wasn't very good to me- nothing spectacular. Lettuce, tomato, cheese. No onion. Not as seasoned as I would've liked. Not as "big." I'm not sure if on the menu they warn that the burger isn't well done, but there was pink throughout. Not a big issue for me, though- Fries were homemade, some burnt tasting. I smelled them as I drove home. If given the chance, I wouldn't reorder them simply because I don't like those kinds of fries- hand cut. For someone who does, it wouldn't be a problem- so order away!
