Came for brunch one day and dinner another. For brunch, the Bloody Mary was really good and liked all the little bites on top. The brisket sandwich was pretty good too. We decided to go to The Tipsy Oak prior to a show, and we were so glad that we did. Our sever was incredible - upbeat, attentive, and all smiles despite a busy Friday evening. Our food was excellent - tasty with larger than expected portion sizes, and great prices! The Tipsy Oak also features an awesome drink menu with lots of seasonal favorites. And the restaurant atmosphere was super fun. They have a huge patio that wraps around 2/3rds of the restaurant, but if outdoor dining isn't your thing, they have a lively indoor area with plenty of TVs to take in the latest sports action. They also were out of ginger beer for the TX Mule and couldn't make the other featured whiskey drink sooo it was a rough start. My husband ordered the double stack brisket grill cheese with poutine fries and I order the brisket queso fries. He really enjoyed the sandwich and said those were some of the best fries he has had. I was a bit underwhelmed by my fries... more brisket and less cheese would have made them so much better. We might go back, we might not. Stopped in here on a Friday after work for a quick date night and it was a nice vibe. We sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed the warm weather (even in February) and there were a ton of people out and about at the Tipsy Oak. They have a lot of picnic style seating in the outside courtyard and indoor seating (which I never saw). Our waitress (and several others ) were working hard to support all the tables and it felt like they didn't miss a beat. We got our appetizer of spicy fried pickles quickly (fried to perfection and only the ranch was "spicy".. but not really if you can handle spice). They were delicious though. We also ordered the brisket tacos and loaded brisket fries and they both were very flavorful! The fries were my favorite, perfect for 2 meals! We ordered the poutine and brisket nachos (asked for chips over fries) and both were excellent. Then we had the pork belly quesadilla rate 8.5 out of 10. First impression the vibe is cozy, casual, and perfect for a laid-back night out. The menu has a little bit of everything, so we ordered a mix to really see what they were working with. We started with the Poutine which were fries topped with melted cheese curds, cheddar jack, brown gravy, and chives. It was good, but I will say it was a little overbearing with the gravy. It came with sweet pepper Thai sauce, garlic whipped potatoes, and asparagus but I substituted the whipped potatoes for mac and cheese. The Thai sauce was truly the star of the show. It complemented the salmon so well and brought everything together. Even the side salad was very good. The Fried Cod Tacos were also very good. Two soft tacos topped with shredded lettuce, pico, cheddar jack, Sriracha aioli, and cilantro. The cod was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. My only complaint is I needed MORE Sriracha aioli because it was that good. Overall, solid experience. This place has such a chill and casual vibe. plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy on a nice day and they have live music on weekends. the menu isn't too big, but it's still hard to choose from the options they do offer. I decided on the tipsy burger cooked medium well and it was so juicy and delicious. I think food in Texas is just bad bc every restaurant I went to on this trip besides a Vietnamese place was not good. I ordered a steak salad and what I go for as steak was past well done and dry and the salad itself was just boring and sad. My friend got their fish taco which wasn't really tacos, asked for sauce on the side and they put it on top. It was creamy? Like a mayo? Our final meal before heading home and we decided to visit the Tipsy Oak. The menu looked good and it was close by so we wanted to give it a try. And we are happy we did. We started with the fried pickles that come with a jalapeño ranch sauce that had some kick to it. The pickles were nicely fried, and not greasy at all. I had the smoked brisket grilled cheese and it was amazing. BBQ sauce was good and the onions added a lot to the sandwich. The chopped brisket was delicious and the bread was perfectly toasted and buttery. T liked her salad and K liked her grilled chicken sandwich, but neither said they were anything special. But, it's a salad and chicken sandwich, so making those entrees standout isn't easy. The brisket grilled cheese did stand out, so you should absolutely give it a try. It's a Tipsy Oak house favorite, as indicated on the menu, and for good reason. They had a good selection of local beer and you can order 5 ounce glasses for $3-$4. It's more per ounce than getting the 12 ounce, but you can sample different beers, which I liked. The electric lemonade is very sour. Very. Sour. Good, but whewwww boy, it was sour. We chose to sit inside because it was a bit warm outside. We ordered the steak salad with bacon bits with blue cheese, tomatoes and red onion . You pick the "doneness" of your steak. Mine was perfect for well done however my friend order " medium well" and it too well done. I loved my salad with a balsamic vinegar. Mashed potatoes could have used more cream/butter because they were a bit bland and dry. $75 without tip for one starter, 2 entrees, 2 soft drinks and 2 alcoholic drinks i thought was reasonable for the quality of the food. Went back again for lunch today. This place seemingly never gets old. The customer service, location and food are all fabulous. Today I decided to give the smoked brisket hash a try and it was very tasty. I had a different idea of how it would come plated but nevertheless it was another fantastic dish. Very filling, so much so that I ate about 1/3 of it because I was stuffed quickly. My coworkers tried the chicken ciabatta (comes grilled/blackened) and the other the California club. Both came with fries and look very flavorful. Sorry no pics I was starving and dug right in once the server dropped the entrees off to our table.
