Writing to share my common experience with the asshat manager. I stopped in to ask if I could have two bottle boxes. Mind you, there are at least 200 of them out on the floor. The manager says, no, we need them. I explained that I am a longtime customer, have a Binny's card, and I only want two. He refuses. I will take my business elsewhere in the future because of this. February has been a busy month and I had fun time during a rainly evening of wine tasting at Binny's in Evanston. Tickets were affordable and we were able to taste wine and beers from all over the world. I was partial to the California wines since I was born and raised there. This Binny's location replaced Whole Foods. Plenty of parking and easy walk into the establishment. read more

I visited Binny's to purchase a few bottles of wine and was followed around the store by a manager -- a bald man with glasses and a beard. His behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I wanted to bring this to your attention, as it significantly impacted my experience as a customer. I do not plan on returning to this location. read more

This location is huge! I've gone into a number of liquor stores and I was taken aback by the vast array of spirit and wines here. With so many options categorized by type, it's hard to just pick one so I'm happy that my neighborhood Binny's has expert staff on hand to help me make an informed purchase. They're not only knowledgeable about what they have in stock but I also like how they ask, right off the bat, how much you're willing to spend so as to be respectful to your price point. During these COVID times, Binny's has adhered to social distancing guidelines and has required all customers to don a face mask and maintain 6 ft of space starting from the outside wait at entry until you've exited the store. I never had difficulty finding parking at this location due to the ample parking space. Overall, Binny's Evanston is a solid place to get your booze on. read more

I specifically went in to find a beer that I love from California called Cali squeeze. The only reason I came here is because this is the one place I have been able to find it. When I got to the isle to look for it I looked to my left and the guard was peaking around the end cap of the isle. So I looked straight at him. He walked down the aisle and I asked if there was a problem. He tried to play it off and say oh I thought knew you. I am no fool and consider the biggest load of bs I've heard today. I will no longer be frequenting this establishment. You want to profile me then you done deserve my hard earned money. Good riddance. read more

Yes we have a new Binny's in Evanston on Chicago Avenue in the former whole foods location and its awesome!!! This store and the offered selection is huge. As I browsed the isles I could not believe how much warehouse space the former grocery store used. The renovations look amazing. Huge selection of beer, wines and currently very nice holiday gift boxes of various spirits. Also a large selection of cocktail ingredients including several varieties of bitters perfect for all the winter cocktails I want to make to keep warm in Chicago. I love Binny's. Good prices and great selection - and great service. Today I went to stock up for Memorial Day weekend. Their advertisement said there'd be an instant rebate of $10 per bottle of Gin if 2 were bought but when I got home I did not see that on the receipt. I called and talked to Max who said to talk to store manager Chad. He got my Binny number to investigate. He called me back within 15 mins to tell me he had pulled up transaction and then showed me where the discount had been applied. He was so patient and respectful! Love this store and he has made me an even bigger fan! Thank you Chad!! read more

Here's what you need to know: the latest store in the Binny's lineup (as of Nov 2018) is awesome. Staff is super friendly, the reserve wine and spirits collection is enviable, and it is a terrific expansion to the evanston wine scene. I spent an hour going through the wine selection in the reserve section and it had a terrific amount of hard to find gems, which many other Binny's don't have. Great location too just a few blocks from downtown evanston with their own parking lot. Whether your looking for a $3 craft beer or a $12000 bottle of wine, they really have a lot of everything. I will definitely spend time at this store buying some good wine for my cellar :) read more

If you are on their "list" then I'm sure you are in love with this place. However, if you don't own a local business, restaurant or car dealership, then you are likely screwed if you are looking for bourbon allocation. That is saved for the chosen ones. The staff at this store will lie straight to your face about bottle availability, and in the same breath will try to sell you some obscure rum tonic from Uzbekistan. Normally I love this store but there is someone, I do not know a name that is answering the phone and is very snippy. Your web site is having issues again and so I called to place by order, just like I did last week and it was not an issue. This gentleman told me he could not really go that. I've been a Binny's customer for over 25 years, but the last few visits to the Evanston store have been horrible. There has been a change over in the staff and many of them are smarmy and arrogant. I will continue to shop at the North Avenue and Clark street stores, which have always been helpful and courteous, but the Evanston store can pound salt. read more

My husband is still shaking from being cornered by guards in this Binny's who accused him of stealing 3 mini bottles of alcohol. He went in to get a 6 pack of beer for the weekend and was shocked to be confronted and treated like a criminal! He's been to this location several times before and thought it was great but now we will never shop here again. How outrageous to strong arm a 66 year old professional man trying to make a purchase. When they discovered they were mistaken they did nothing to make up for the embarrassment and upset they caused. Shame on you Binny's for treating a good customer so shabbily!!! read more

Great management and The Best customer service!!! They answered my call right away, found a rare Appleton Rum, that I could not get anywhere else, no other Binny's locations had it.
