Home ownership is about knowing about the house from a good inspection and accepting that every home has a "honey-do-list". The large issue was the hurricane wind mitigation report (required in Florida) and the follow up on how to resolve the existing issues. We ended up spending $1795 for what was recommended as a retrofit that was supposed to save us $800 a year on insurance but we were only able to have a lesser upgrade that only saved us $300......we asked for a partial refund of the fee as compensation but they refused.
