Never have a problem when I go here. Everyone is really nice. Some days it does take time but they are busy people. I like to think about the people I am helping and it is relaxing for me. They have absolutely no respect for your time at all. The first time I donated I spent a full 3 hours there while employees stood around. It was horribly inefficient. But I figured it was my first time so I gave them a second chance. Second donation came and it took 50 mins for them to finally stick me and get the process going but I had to wait while two nurses stood over me (not working on me) while they discussed who was going to lunch first and when. It took 15 mins from when I sat in the donation chair to actually get the needle inserted. Took nearly 2 hours for my second donation. I would highly recommend finding another location or business to donate with. I may not go back. I value my time more than that headache that is well within their control. First time I went to this place and the last ...I had the worst experience I had in a while, I parked my car in front of the door and when I got out my car was gone, a lot of trashy people go to this place, when I was outside waiting for the police, a ambulance and fire fighter truck arrived to pick up a lady who passed out while she was donating, so if you want to get out of that place in ambulance or get your car stole this is the place you should go. I wish I had read these reviews before I wasted my time "signing up" to become a donor. After jumping through hoops to become eligible, I never heard from them again. Attempts to set up a donor appointment online were all rejected and efforts to find out why with phone calls and emails went unanswered. There has to be a better way in Greenville County. read more

I had a frustrating experience with BioLife Plasma. After being deferred due to my insulin usage, I followed their instructions, visited my doctor, and was cleared to donate. A nurse even called to confirm I could schedule an appointment. However, when I arrived, I was turned away again, wasting my time and money on gas. Today was my last time walking into Bio Life. I was a constant customer pretty much all year last year and I stopped for a while to give my body a rest. I have tried twice this year to return. First time they came up with a stupid test to test my protein because allegedly it was off. Test came back normal. I called yesterday and they said everything was good to donate. So I set my appointment, come in today and they had the audacity to tell me because I'm currently living in a hotel I can't donate! WTF does my living situation has to do with donating plasma. Awful, it took over 4 hours the first time I went, 3 hours the next time I came. Low staff , they take too many people than they can handle. Blew my vein leaving me a hematoma which then trickled into me getting sent away 3x after since it didn't heal after waiting with no compensation. I am very disappointed in the way this center is operating. I had an appointment for 6:25 am this morning and when I got there they were closed. A note on the door telling me they will open at 11:30am. I did not receive an email to let me know. I drove 40 miles one way to find out they wouldn't be open. I can't continue to drive that far for nothing. The staff are great and I love donating my plasma but being short staffed is not working. ( Returning customer ) Came in and did a return physical with some literal psycho nurse with tattoos on her arms and a seemingly welded on face mask. I made a few errors on my screening questionnaire and when going over them with this nurse, I explained that some of the wording was tricky for me and she basically told me I was wrong and they aren't hard at all insulting my intelligence. Then she lashed out at me for talking above her and telling me not to speak when she is speaking. This gave her the clear option to falsify my eye exam portion and flag my approval until I left and got seen by a doctor for review. WHY WOULD I GO PAY TO SEE A DOCTOR JUST TO DONATE PLASMA FOR MONEY???? I made this all aware to the manager on duty and about 10 days later I get a call asking for me to come back and get a reevaluation from a different nurse for consideration. So far I've driven 3 total hours going back and fourth there, and wasted almost 4 hours of my life just to be told that even though my eyesight is perfectly fine they couldn't override the unhinged nurses flagging of my account. the 2nd manager I spoke with today 7/26 was very nice and apologetic but nothing could be fixed. Waste of time. I went to the center twice the first time to be told I didn't eat enough and needed to wait a day. It says to eat a healthy meal and avoid fatty foods, but nothing specific. The second time I waited 2 hours to be told I needed a Drs note to be able to donate. This was a simple matter that could have been addressed on the first day before I came back to waste more time. When I told the nurse that information should be disclosed upfront her response was basically we don't do that. I get the impression they don't mind wasting time their time or the client's. Had my first appointment about 2 weeks ago at which time I disclosed I was on insulin for diabetes. I was told that I couldn't donate that day. But if I took a release to my doctor's office and got it filled out and returned it. It should be fine. I went to the doctor's office dropped off the release went back to the doctor's office drove an hour round trip to get to the second appointment and after arriving at the second appointment. The center is clean and for the most part, the staff is friendly. However, It was very strange to see a good number of both staff and donors wearing their masks under their nose in times of Covid. The virus CAN be spread and contracted if the nose is exposed. Despite this issue, I continued to donate. I decided to stop going after my 6th visit, where the technician (who by the way was wearing his mask under his nose), poked me a few times and made a terrible mistake: he didn't put the needle in my vein. Although the needle was in my arm, when the first return came, my blood floated my arm, causing a lot of pain and discomfort. The nurse and the center coordinator came to check on me. She put a tiny ice pack on my arm and they wrapped a bandage around my arm. It was so tight that my fingers and hand turned blue. I had to get somebody else to take a look at it and loosen it up. They gave me a handout with care instructions, but I was upset when I found out that if my hematoma got worse (and it did) I had to go see a doctor (and pay for the bill myself! The nurse said they'd give me a follow up call the next day, but they never did. I called two days later, was put on hold for 20 minutes but still was unable to talk to a nurse. I called the next day and finally talked to a nurse. She said she'd take a look at my hematoma (which was almost 10 inches long and pretty sore!) and that if it looked bad, she'd contact their physician. I didn't want to wait any longer, so I went to an urgent care clinic. They did an ultrasound and blood work to check for any infection and blood clots. Thank Goodness there was no blood clot or infection! I never write negative reviews, let alone long ones, but although I still believe in plasma donation, BioLife needs to train they staff much, much better. They even need to think of a plan to cover costs for any doctor visits donors might need because of their mistakes. Their slogan is that they are "in the business of saving lives". That technician's mistake and the nurses' lack of commitment to following up could've costed mine. A blood clot is a life threatening matter! If you're considering donating plasma there, make sure you ask questions about how they deal with "donations gone wrong", how they will follow up and if they will provide medical attention, if they pay for costs for any doctor's visit you might need due to any mistakes they make. Anyway, talk to the coordinator about any concerns you have... I hope someone from BioLife reads this and fixes what needs to be fixed so that nobody else goes through what I'm going through now. read more

They wouldn't send me an appointment reminder so I missed my only booked appointment, but they'll sure as hell send you promotion emails. I've called the office 7 days in a row at all hours of the day and no one ever answers the phone so clearly- they don't need new donors since it's virtually impossible to book your first appointment. I went there three times first time everything was going well until they saw one of my medical questions, I have depression and I'm taking medication for it, there's literally nothing wrong with that but they said I couldn't donate because of "stability" whatever that's supposed to mean. I spent three hours being there they poked my finger and everything. They made me get a depression screening, I brought it back and they told me it had to be approved by their doctor so I had to cancel that appointment. Fast forward a week later I get a call saying it got approved by their doctor so I went one week later for my appointment at this point it's my 3rd attempt to donate, they still said I couldn't donate even thought it was approved by their doctor I spent hours for them just to tell me that. It's been such a waste of my time and gas. I do not recommend going here to donate unless you're as desperate as me for money, I have another appointment soon so hopefully I be able to donate this time. After I get the first time bonus I will not be going there to Donate plasma. Over all it's been a horrible experience, and the 1st nurse that was doing my physical was so rude I don't see how she's working there 2nd nurse I went to was so kind and helpful and respectful. Rude staff. Apparently, you have to eat a gigantic meal to donate, my normal bar and banana had me on a "empty" stomach. Then I was told that I only had good veins in one arm, which is not true. The last straw was apparently the blood pressure cuff has to be all the way up on your arm. The lab clerk yelled "WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS WOMAN AND HER SWEATSHIRT". This is the best run plasma donation center I have been to. They compensate so well I drive 20 minutes longer than my old plasma place which did not run smooth and quickly. Not sure if the ones complaining about lack of staff have been to one where your wait to get your blood pumped had 20 others in front of them with over hour-long wait. I have been a dedicated donor for more than one year. I referred my boyfriend. He went and was turned away after the physical by Nurse Maggie because of a surgery he had several years ago. She basically called him a liar regarding his scars. After humiliating him, she told him that he could return after his Dr. had signed a consent form. At this point, he didn't want to return. After speaking with me, I convinced him to give Biolife another chance. I called and spoke with Amy (a manager). She told me specifically that she would call my boyfriend the NEXT day. Worst experience possible!!! Will not reccomend!!! Phlebotomist was highly unprofessional and needs an attitude change. I came in as a new patient during one of their promotions and was turned away. Having worked in the medical field before, there was no reason for being turned away. Walked up to Phlebotomist I was to see while she was gabbing with another phlebotomist. It was probably an inconvenience for her to work on me. She got another womans opinion about the size of my veins and she saw no problem, then comes to me to say to come back after 15 days (after promotion mind you) to "build up the size" if my veins. I have NEVER had a bad experience at biolife. It has a spectacular staff and is super clean. The staff is super polite and knowledgeable about their jobs and care about their patients. The free WiFi is a bonus and they have an app that lets you choose the time you want to donate so you have to wait in shorter lines. They pay very well and have frequency bonuses and promotions for each month. They are an amazing group of people and I will continue to come here forever. read more

I have been giving plasma for about 4 weeks twice a week. The Greenville, SC facility seems to be understaffed. This morning it took nearly 2 hours to donate plasma so be prepared. The biolife app is very user friendly and high tech. You can make appointments thru the app. I would think that when they are understaffed and running behind an hour that they could use the app to notify donors instead of turning away people that already had an appointment. I drive 30 minutes to get to the office....you are wasting an hour of my time by not rescheduling while I am still at home. Another suggestion would be to give the floor manager a promotional code for the people that waited in line for over a hour an added $$ incentive. You are not respecting my time. If you don't have the staff, then don't have open appointments. Lastly, I could not find a way to contact biolife via email to recommend these suggestions.
