Red Cross does. Doctors offices do. As a working parent with few babysitting options, this seems pretty inequitable. I assumed I needed to head up the street to St. Vincent's Medical Center or the East Pavilion, but the doctor said, just go up to the 2nd floor and give them this paperwork. I said, 2nd floor of the Medical Center? No, just take the elevator up one floor. Note, building is in the process of getting painted so there were no signs (4/8/24.) After walking up and down a long hallway with no success, I stopped in a pediatric office and the receptionist told me the lab was in the hallway directly in front of the elevator. Walk across from the elevator, hallway goe off to right, about half way down on the right is LabCorp. The hallways are very sterile with small signage. Once inside, you do a self check in at the kiosk. The machine couldn't read my insurance card, no idea why, so I had to manually type in all the info. This happened to several other people so it definitely warrants being fixed. After that, I took a seat and waited my turn. Some people had set up an appointment so they were in front of me. There is a screen with people's initials so you can see where you are in the queue. My wait was about ten minutes. A little soft background music in the waiting area would enhance the environment. The technician was friendly, efficient, and most important, skilled. Hit the vein first time even though I was a bit dehydrated, and a minute later, done. I have an order for a repeat test for early June, and now that I know this lab exists, I'll stop here. There is a parking lot right out front, easy exit off 26, very convenient.

05/08/26 ~ as a rule i post only to applaud excellent customer service, but regarding "LABCORP"…read moreas-follows... 01) i tried by phone for a week to make a simple blood draw appointment with "LABCORP," using their published telephone numbers, but always deflected away by phone robots, ie THERE IS NO PHONE ACCESS TO "LABCORP" in Sherwood Oregon 02) i finally drove from another city and walked into the building itself, and waited for 20+ minutes for the nice desk person FROM ANOTHER COMPANY to find an unpublished "LABCORP" phone number with which to make an appointment (i've been to this same lab ten or twelve times over decades, but now it's owned by a megacorp) 03) i returned to my office spent forty minutes struggling with phone robots to make an appointment a week out at 1045a this morning (fyi to digital folks: "an appointment" is a specific time agreed-to and adhered-to by all parties) 04) arrived 1030a for the 1045a appointment as i didn't want to keep anyone waiting ~ there's no front desk, so paying customers are greeted by a computer and five minutes of computer work even though i'd been there a dozen times under previous ownership 05) from my chair in their "LABCORP" waiting room I counted eight people who were called-in before me AFTER the 1045a appointment time, and five of the eight had arrived there after me, and it's now 1130a 06) i was instructed to "ring a bell under a tv" about this failure, so I did so, twice with no response 07) i called and last-minute canceled my noon neurologist's appointment which was scheduled three months ago ~ i will pay a couple hundred minimum for this neurology cancelation, in addition to another very extended wait time to see the neuro 08) a nice "LABCORP" [human] tech eventually appeared in the waiting room, then disappeared awhile and subsequently returned to deal with me and ultimately drew my blood at 1130a for the 1045a "appointment" 08) my [top-shelf providence insurance] concierge just told me with no ambiguity that "LABCORP" owns a monopoly in Washington County and there are no other labs available to me 09) you've now had a heads-up on this wholly unprofessional nightmare "LABCORP," and best luck I'm hoping your experience is much better 10) just confirming that the tech was visibly frustrated but ultimately completed my three minute blood draw in three minutes with no problems ~ like you and me, this lab tech is also a victim of a giant robot-managed megacorp, and she's simply attempting to do a professional job 11) my all-in time investment in getting a single three minute blood draw is six hours, conservatively

It felt like three employees were trying to run an operation built for thirty. Phones ringing, lines backing up, people waiting everywhere, and the few staff members present looked like they were moving in slow motion. Not rushed. Not hustling. Just... gliding through time at a pace that suggested they had nowhere to be for the next decade. Every step took forever. Check-in? Forever. Screening? Forever. Actually getting seated? A saga. I've seen sloths show more urgency crossing a road. The frustrating part isn't even the wait, it's that you can clearly see the bottleneck happening in real time. People stacked up. Staff casually strolling between stations. No sense of urgency. No communication about delays. Just vibes and fluorescent lighting. If you have absolutely nothing else to do for the next several hours and you enjoy watching efficiency take a personal day, this might be your spot. Check in was easy. The lab tech that I had for a myriad of vials made the draw quick and painless. Her humor and manner was appreciated. She was even serious as she humorously handed off the 24 hour sample jug. She answered every question I had and sent me on my way laughing and smiling.

My feet and hands were numb until I would step on something or brush anything up against the tips of my toes or my fingers. Quality of life was zero. When I tried to get them to help me, they pretty much ignored my pain. They didn't do anything. I'm hold that cancer doctors are supposed to help with your pain to keep you from suffering and to allow you to be able to continue your treatment. Well I didn't get anything like that. I even refused treatment because I couldn't take any more pain from the cumulative effect of the chemo. It wasn't until today, one month after refusing treatments and putting in a referral request to go to the Knight Center with OHSU that they called and offered me an appointment with their Dr Windler, because they were concerned about my pain. Not after the first refusal of treatment, nor the second or third. Only when I requested to be transferred somewhere else did they offer me an appointment. I cannot believe how badly I have suffered. And even though it's been 4 weeks since I had treatment I am still suffering. The neuropathy and numbness continue. I can only hope my new doctor will be more understanding. Avoid this place at all costs. They're more concerned with how they look and what they can get from you and not how you actually feel as a human being going through chemotherapy. They even kept reporting in my medications file all the things that they gave me before and during chemo treatment and the chemotherapy that I received. And they even did that for the days I refused treatment and was not there. They scam you. Ridiculous.

I worked in the medical field and when she said that to me, I just thought, "Did you really just say that? You're joking. This is a joke." It was so painful I cried out. If the techs at Kaiser can take your blood and you almost don't feel it, why can't the Red Cross Folks, who do this all day, day in and day out, be trained as well? It should not have hurt like that. There was no option to opt out of "donating" your blood to scientific testing. NO OPTION. Either "help save lives and you must donate to scientific testing, including third parties who we sell your blood to (this was in the paperwork that you have to read before you do it), or do not help save lives." When I told the gal that when my step dad died, he required a lot of blood and that's why I was doing this, she said, "I'm sorry... Did he make it?" And, finally, the "snacks" were mini oreos and unhealthy foods. Not even an orange to replace electrolytes and fluids. I mean, we give you our blood and you give us... the inability to opt out of having third parties scientifically test our blood and some mini oreo cookies, cheese its, greasy/stale peanuts, and small Mrs. Fields cookies. If I needed to replenish my blood and health, why would I eat an Oreo? To poison myself? At the end, the gal said "You saved three lives today." And I looked at her, the gal who I'd just told that my step dad died, and thought... Well, I personally witnessed someone require a lot of blood and die in front of me. So... no. You have no idea. The volunteers are super nice and try to make everything as fast and painless as possible. Get a rapid pass the day of and it will speed you up even more. Also, be hydrated - your blood flows far better. There are a crazy number of people who rely on your donations just to live their day to day lives due to blood disorders.

Had they waited a bit longer, my pulse would have gone down because the anxiety was lessening. I can feel it physically when my anxiety is high and I can feel it going away. The staff were nice but I don't think they really cared for me to donate blood. I rescheduled the appointment but not sure I will ever donate blood again as this experience was off putting. The technicians I've ran into have ranged from normal yet talkative, to near-zombie-like and anti- social. ~ The preparation area and equipment used for platelet/plasma donation is quite clean. I've seen technicians wipe things down, and bring in new sealed kits. Its definitely different when donating platelets. Overall, this location does an excellent job in getting donors set up and checked-in properly. The bed, or gurney, used are clean as is the equipment. I'll likely return six months from now for another donation. But I bet I'll receive over 20-30 calls/text from RC before then.

The patient is 100 days overdue for facet injections for pain. By the time he gets an appt. at the VA he will be 135 days overdue for pain treatment and needs to go back on Morphine for a month. THEY WILL NOT "CALL YOU WITH AN APPOINTMENT." Tuality OHSU Ortho did not tell the patients or the VA Community Care that there are no appointments. Sarah NUTTBROCK (Portland VA Community Care for pain) continues giving veterans referrals to this place. She had 'no idea' that Tuality OHSU Ortho was "moving their procedure room and no appointments are available." (as per Shelly) Shelly will not help you by connecting you to anyone in authority who could assist you. Instead, Shelly will give you the "patient relations" number, where Margarita will tell you she is sorry. Poor Communication, Rude and Dismissive. Front desk person seems to be there for Spanish speakers only and does not appear to understand or speak English. .
