It isn't worth it. The amount you get paid for continuating to donate keeps decreasing. If you get a horrible phlebotomist you run the risk of an infiltration, bruising, an infection. You sign away holding these places responsible. Pharmaceutical companies are making billions these plasma companies are making millions AND those needing the medications can't even afford their meds. I came in 3 or 4 days past the 30 day mark and the lady said there's nothing they can do. Fucking insane how they make $10,000+ off of a couple donations and can't even pay a reasonable rate. Overall, the staff were friendly. The bad apple was a man with a large beard who thought it was fine to leave his mask unattached on the bottom, so every exhalation of his just escaped from under his mask. After I pointed this out to him as being unsafe and making me UNcomfortable, he snark-ily replied. "I have a beard!" Well, no kidding. So...plasma donations are greatly needed. We're in a global pandemic. Bearded man works in a plasma center, YET refuses to either: 1. FIND A MASK THAT WILL ACCOMMODATE YOUR BEARD or 2. TRIM YOUR BEARD. No, he'd rather ENDANGER DONORS AND COLLEAGUES by selfishly leaving his mask unattached on the bottom (and thus nearly useless). In addition, his supervisors are apparently fine with his avoiding Covid safe rules of PROPERLY wearing a mask. I came in twice and both times this self-entitled dude was rude and improperly masked. His behavior and his giving a middle finger to health safety during a pandemic made me LEAVE and never return. In addition, 1400 Facebook friends and others are aware of this one guy's entitlement being ALLOWED AND SUPPORTED at Biomat on Holgate. Supervisors: get it together. it cost $15,000 a bottle and we get $40-50 if you are lucky $60 on a donation removing plasma ages, and destroys "our" body you need to make it a minimum of $100 considering the risks we as donors put ourselves in and the companies are not responsible for any consequences this will be my last donation due to the selfishness and greed of all of the parties participating. this is fucken wrong! read more

Didn't happen to me but I was sitting next to this woman who was donating and they didn't put her needle in correctly... she kept telling the workers that she wasn't feeling comfortable and was in pain and she was going to pass out two workers gaslit her until they finally saw how white her lips were. I use to be loyal to this place. Even gave them five stars on Google review. But went for a donation there for 150 dollars, and could not donate, because the lab they worked with, did not process my sample in a timely fashion. So instead of them notifying me, not to come in, I took two busses there, a hour and a half to get there, to here that I could not donate. Then when I tried to make a appointment the following week, I got blocked online, cannot make a appointment, because I did a bad review on Google map, shows you how they handle there business. I have been a biomat/ Grifols customer for about a year and a half. The donation of blood plasma is relatively easy lasting approximately 2 hours. The staff are always friendly and helpful. If I were to offer an improvement recommendation, it would be to hire more staff. There are times when our appointment times come and go while we sit in the lobby waiting to be called. read more

So come here for some extra change to supplement my food eats. I love food so 2 hrs of my time for an extra $300.00 plus per month in my pocket is easy money. The staff are hella chill Melody Anna Sean Fatima and Georgia all the staff that I've encountered are all pretty laid back and chill even on the bad days I don't hold anything against them because we are all human. 1/28/18 would give them NO stars if I could. They don't care about the donors AT ALL! The rules change according to which staff member you talk to. I went thru the entire process was waiting to be stuck after being there 2 1/2 hrs on the bed when a medical staff member said he made a mistake and I couldn't donate, I was given $10 for their mistakes. Horrible management has NO clue what's going on. Follow up 2/27/19 After not going to Holgate biomat for a year I thought I'd give them another try.....it's been horrible. I went in today for my appointment and couldn't sign. I went up to the desk and asked why the girl said"didn't anybody tell you" ??? I was placed on a 7 day hold after two failed sticks. I was there Monday evening and they were slammed. They had 5 people call out due to the weather. You could tell the employees that were there were dragging and doing there best. However, if they hadn't been so overworked they would have been able to get a successful stick. Again, I wasted my time and there was no accountability on their end.... just a oh well attitude. This reflects poorly on management. read more

Yes staff was friendly and wanting best experience for the donator. However, after the time out of my day the FIRST time and horrible drive to find them, I was ultimately turned away because my blood pressure meds were beta blockers and I was turned away due to potential issues. I didn't see where that was listed and took the time to contact my doctor to change/update those meds so I would qualify to return and try again. In my opinion ruling that in/or out should be done in the beginning, not 30 to 45 minutes into the interview. It was an unfair use of my time. The second time I returned, I brought in my prescription bottle so I could prove the change in my blood pressure medication to one they accepted. This 2nd time I got sent away because they didn't feel I had eaten enough. I ate my high protein low fat meal but wasn't enough, so I went to get a meal so I could come back and continue this interview. I returned and had even more paperwork which took me an hour filling out, reading several pages of what to expect, answering all the questions on their monitor and filling out more paperwork. So here I am almost 2 hours later and because I told the truth of my short term living arrangements as I am in a stressful transition, I was ultimately turned away again!!!!! I encourage Full Disclosure when you have a first time donator! My experiences did not need to be this stressful and time consuming. Really simple. Do a good deed like donate your plasma and get a little $$$ for it. Sounds like a plan, huh? The first visit is the doozy. I was there around five hours. You need to bring a license, your social security card and proof of address if it doesn't match your license. DRINK PLENTY OF JUICE AND EAT SOME PROTEIN. During that first visit you will have the time to wander over to 82nd and Holgate to get some food. There's a Subway, Hawaiian BBQ and a gyro place also some Asian food joints as well. First four visits gets you $50 each time, then the rate drops but there are all sorts of bonuses along the way including free merch. The staff is friendly and my second visit, I was only there a little over two hours. Much quicker and you get to watch current movies on the flat screens that are all over the place. Great employees. I have a great time with the people employed here. They seem to enjoy each other as coworkers and have fun through all the detailed work they have to do, and it creates a welcoming atmosphere. Angela is so into shoes! I wear different ones every day just to see what she'll say! The donation is easy, and as efficient as it can be based on time of day and traffic flow. They're professional, and fun as well. I will not provide that information because that would be illegal on YOUR Part, That would make it you as a financial advisor! Like you said on your post to me when I asked if you report earnings to the IRS. Since you refused to tell me whether you do or not, you will have not have my social security number. I will provide a drivers license as proof of my 58 years of being a US citizen (born in the USA). Plasma donation sounds fun to me... $70 a week to sit in a chair and read, paint my nails, or talk in depth about my hypochondria with poorly underqualified nursing assistants. Afterwards I would eat a vicodin and call it a day. At least that was my plan today. Until I went up to the front of the line and had a fellow tell me that I have "bad veins" (fat arms). Me and my roommate both got rejected because we have just a bit too much insulation on our skeletons! I've been a regular for over a year. I've also been to other Plasma Centers. In all, I've been donating for over a decade. Based upon my considerable experience, I have given this particular center the highest possible rating. The staff is super professional, friendly and most importantly, responsive. The facility is immaculate and very inviting. They even have a security guard out front to make sure your car, bike, or whatever, stays safe. Even the clientele this center attracts is beyond expectation. That having been said, this is a plasma center in a good sized city. There will be times when it is super busy. There will be waits from time to time--that is just the nature of the beast. However, I feel very confident saying that this particular center does more than I would reasonably expect to make their donors experiences the best they can be, despite all that. read more

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I came here for the very first time on Monday and went through a long process but because everyone was so nice, I didn't care about how long I was there! Connie and AJ were the two that worked with me the most and they both made me feel very comfortable and at ease. There's free wifi and movies that play all day while you wait and honestly, it can be a long wait but everyone here is really nice and it's all about your attitude on it. They are professional and competent and I haven't had a problem. They try to be as careful as they can be and everything tends to be relatively quick after the first appointment (in which they have to do a series of tests including a UA which is evidently 420 friendly). Also the previous review suggests that they are "underqualified (sic) nursing assistants" a crack making no sense as that isn't the job they are trained here to do. They need to stick you with needles and set up the machines properly, two of the most important duties to do safely, which they DO in my experience. First visit, 25$, second, $45, everything after that unless you have tetanus resistance or hepatitis B vaccine factor it is always $25 and $35 respectively, since they need two visits each time. I intend to keep donating plasma until medical science doesn't need it anymore, after I read that plasmapheresis is used as a treatment (among other conditions) for multiple sclerosis, an ailment my grandfather died of. Save a life, make a small amount of cash, donate plasma. read more

I asked myself "why not donate, I am healthy". So a couple days later that is what I did. The process was easy and very organized. I had no problems, and was even rewarded by a $50 payment. Don't waste your time! After I went through all the rigmarole, which included reading massive quantities of information, my temperature was too high and they sent me home. 2 hours. Today I returned, and when I went to sign in, they told me that I needed my social security card again and sent me home. They hrad ample opportunity to let me know this the previous time. Just a lame I'm sorry. It takes me almost an hour to get there and I've wasted a good 7 hours or so on this ordeal. The first time I went, they took my social security card and told me I'd get it back when I finished reading a pile of information. Then they left my social security card sitting on the counter while they went to lunch. These bozos aren't getting any of my plasma! read more
