I was very disappointed with my experience at this blood donation center. The staff appeared unfamiliar with their own policies and provided inconsistent information regarding the check-in and eligibility process. What made the experience especially frustrating was that I had taken time away from work specifically to donate, only to have that time wasted because the staff could not clearly explain or verify the requirements they were enforcing. When I asked for clarification, they were unable to provide or reference written documentation supporting the guidelines. If a facility has established policies governing donor eligibility and check-in procedures, the staff should be properly trained and able to consistently communicate those requirements. At a minimum, written guidelines should be readily available so donors are not given conflicting information or made to unnecessarily take time off work. I hope management addresses this issue through better staff training and clearer communication of their policies. Donors are volunteering their time to support an important cause, and that time should be respected. read more

I understand that you need to be cautious with things like that but you cant have one nurse say its ok and tell me multiple times its ok and one say its not. I've always enjoy going there, the staff is very intelligent and if you don't pass vitals they are very firm with you but also give you 15 minutes break so you can relax then retake your vitals and I've so far past the second time around and donate. The people here are pretty nice and well mannered. I have gone back multiple times and I still have not experienced any bruising or rudeness. I like the model of first come first serve so I don't have to hassle with making an appointment and changing it. The music is always pretty nice to. I am reading some of these comments and I honestly don't understand how people are so upset. Always remember that people will write lies about a business to give it a low score. I do not understand why we have to make appointments at a specific time (example 12Pm) and not only that, but we have to be on TIME and we're not seen until an hour-hour and half later for them to take our vitals/protein, and then we still have to sit and wait an additional 15 to 30 minutes to be called to the back to start donating. It turns from being an hour and a half appointment to 2 1/2 to 3 hr apt. They are too worried about reaching their end of day goal. They should either hire more staff or limit the appointments they have available on the app. It's a huge inconvenience when you have to wait over an hour when you have an appointment. read more

Yes there are bad reviews. Why, still trying to find it out. I have been going here for a while here, over a year. I still have not had a bad experience. It could be a respect issue. You can't go to a business and act how you want. If it's medical, talk to your doctor and see what happened? It's not the busseses fault that there might be something wrong with a person's physical health. Are all the people who work there nice, NO. You can always ask for someone else or go to another row. Will not be coming back and it's so sad because I always donated here. Today I got a new front desk lady checking my vitals. She knew nothing and had to keep calling for help. She didn't know how to use the temperature or blood pressure machine she had to reset it. I got a temperature of 99 and she said she couldn't take me back. So, I donate here regularly. I love the fact that I am helping people by donating plasma. However I wish the people working in the back were a little more professional, I get having fun at work is important and making sure the donors don't feel like dairy cows just there to get sucked dry is important as well, but almost everytime I've gone, the person sticking me is too busy talking across the room, or during my last visit, the girl that was gonna stick me was asked about her lunch break, and she was ready to go, so she hurried through and stuck me, which hurt a hell of a lot more than it should've. She was even visibly upset she didn't get to go on her break after all. So there I was sitting with a needle uncomfortably placed in my vein while she was whining about her lack of lunch. I enjoy coming here, I really really do but I just wish it was a little more donor focused. read more

I started Donating Plasma in November 2021 and honestly I did it for the Extra Holiday Cash, as it did come in Handy. I prepared for my first donation, went on the website and did "EXACTLY AS GRIFOLS HAD RECOMMENDED" My first encounter was with Indira she was extremely professional, helpful and empathetic, I have now moved into the "Returning Donor" class where I make a donation 2 times a week. I have had my share of encounters that were well let's say less than pleasant but these encounters were brought on by my own "Knuckle Head" not listening to the recommendations, such as getting poor sleep and not drinking water as well as eating a terrible meal the night before donation. Now I prepare just like a good "Side Hustle" or Part Time Job, - good 8 hours sleep and 4-5 Liters of Water before the donation, no fatty foods such as pizza or 8 tacos de Pastor for the corner taqueria, now usually 4-5 egg whites some beans, maybe a chicken breast prior to donation. I was also placed on a 14 day deferment because my protein was too low. A good low fat diet, high in protein both soy, animal and vegetable proteins is a good bet. Low carbohydrates as well as complete hydration water simple water will suffice. Griofls has shown me they are very nice professional, caring and empathetic people. It is a joy to donate at Biomat. I plan to continue donating as a "Return Donor" Compensation is extremely good right now. read more

This place sucks. The staff is very unprofessional and doesn't know how to speak with clients. One will tell you one thing and another staff will tell you different. Very unorganized. Just came here for the extra money but then they stopped sending me text messages for the bonuses and they were never able to fix that "technical issue". Grifols plasma needs to lay off EVERYBODY in this CHULA VISTA location, and start hiring professional phlebotomist that actually like what they do. Most of their new hires have never inserted a needle In a vein before and so they use their patients as guinea pigs. That's why they're always resticking people and messing up.
