Very ghetto. Bathrooms are dirty and don't work. Staff is rude even if you're nice. They have actually gotten the labels wrong on a bottle of my plasma before and almost refused to pay me until I put my foot down and threatened to report all of them because they made a mistake. Lines are extremely long, and they stick you terribly multiple times on purpose. If you're pretty, they'll hurt you on purpose. Be safe and it's only the Black women that act that way there. They have relations with many of the male clients. Just a very weird dynamic and highly unprofessional. This was typed by a Black woman. Fire everyone and start over cause everyone there is too comfortable, unprofessional, and ignorant. One of the staff even tried to fight me one day. I can't make this up folks! read more

Bathroom smells like pee every time I come in and of course there's pee on the floor. Also, the lights go out, if you're in the office past 7. I couldn't believe it the first time it happened. The next time I came in the lights went out again. I was told that the office stays open 30 mins later than it used to and that the lights turning off was to let the staff know it was time to go. Funny thing is, the staff is ready to go way before 7, so they don't need a signal to leave. More importantly, the lights going out while people are donating is scary. Imagine a worker pulling a needle out of someone and accidentally sticking themselves. I'm just gonna leave it at that. read more

What could improve you ask? Try literally almost anything you pointed at. Between rude staff, intentionally slow and an over all dirty facility I'm not sure what is good. Management is completely useless. I've literally seen the same "managers" time and time again when their people are SWAMPED doing nothing but sitting in the office criticizing their team. Both of the newest managers, a tall blond woman and a portly older gentleman, are not only lazy but seem to be completely out of their depth on anything related to questions a donor might have. Further more when confronted by fellow employees I've heard both of those managers use the phrase "that's not my job anymore" and then laugh. Wait times are getting worse and worse. And to add insult to injury they continue to drop the rates. This company clearly takes advantage of an area and then does nothing to bolster their workforce driving productivity down. The donor experience is getting worse and worse.Very very slow.The workers seem a lot of the time to be more concerned with complaining about their job or about outside issues than with doing their job.They take donors out of turn. read more

This facility is in a horrible location.The staff is rude to new donors. Lines are very long. Most of the bathroom fixtures are broken, and unusable. Ghetto booming base fills the air from many clunker cars in the parking lot. People will try to beg for all the money you just earned from plasma donation. read more

It's a pretty standard plasma donation center. Nothing stands out as being great but, in my opinion, it's better than the alternative here in Richmond. They pay extremely well for the first month, then back to the standard $25/$30 model after that. The way that they handle returning donors is different than every other center I've donated at, so pay close attention to the following. If you are a first time donor, you must go in as a walk in. Bring your state id, social security card and a piece of mail with your name and current address on it. For returning donors, you CAN go in as a walk in but be prepared to spend a good three hours of your day if you do. It's better to set up an appointment with your screening employee in the booth before donating. This way you will be priority when you come in next. I can't stress this enough, always get an appointment card and have it with you when you arrive for the appointment. Too often do they forget to add your appointment to the computer system and you have to prove that you have one. Overall it's good, skilled phlebotomists but need an upgrade on their outdated appointment system. read more

The staff seems to have gradually been improving during the 8 months I've been donating plasma. I have been enjoying the staff a lot more as individuals. Very recently they've added nametags for at least some of the staff. I think it would be a big improvement to have every single staff member wearing a name tag with at least their first name on it. This is pretty standard professional practice in healthcare facilities and elsewhere. When I first started donating at this facility, it was common place for staff members on the floor where the donations are happening joking with each other and looking away from the patient when about to stick them. It was very unprofessional and frankly scary. It's much better now. This place is filthy the bathrooms are disgusting they either smell like pee or have pee everywhere. The staff on the floor are super nice. But management is lazy and rude. Treat there employees like slaves out there while they sit in there office and let them drown. There's favoritism between certain employees and managers and some of the employees are related to management and get promotions and moved up into bigger roles.. which I think is absolutely wrong and should be consequences! Management there is poor I've never seen a company ran that way in my life. There all talk about teamwork but have no efforts to actually do so. They let the donors speak to staff in anyway they like to nothing is done about that. I've heard they don't get breaks as often as they should. They never have enough staff and think they can run the center with just two people it's absolutely bull the way certain employees are treated in there by management. And comments that have been made from management to employees some things shouldn't be said especially when it comes to race. read more

The worst place they won't even check your veins to see if you can donate they give you the run around and have you come multiple times til they finally check and then tell you they can't find a vein if this site would let me do lower then one star I would read more

If you have anything planned on your schedule in the next 72 hours then don't come here, because that's about the amount of time it takes to become a donor. If you need money quickly, this is NOT an option. The environment is uncomfortable as it is unfriendly. These people wasted an entire work day for me without even allowing me to donate. This place sucks. The first time I went, the bowl broke because the technician set up the machine wrong causing me to loose blood and couldn't return for 8 weeks. When I came back 8 weeks later they told me that I had to start the entire 3 hr screening process over. They asked me for my drivers license and social security card. I had my license and original birth certificate which they would not accept even though they had photo copies of my license and social security card in my file from the previous visit. The next day I brought my social security card and they told me they were not accepting any more new donors for the day at ten o'clock am. No wonder they are always advertising for business. If you want a more reliable center to donate at go to Octapharma on Hull St. In Southside Plaza. They open from 7am to 7pm and accept donors from 7am to 7pm and they pay better. Plasmacare is open from 7am to 6pm and stops taking donors around 10am. Waste your gas or bus fare at your own risk. read more

Good employees, excellent service but EXTREMELY slow. Get ready to get about 5 hours shaved off your day. They couldn't get to me for two days but paid me for the inconvenience which was amazing because I waited 4 1/2 hours and got nothing done. Other than the slow, I recommend this place over any in central VA!! read more
