Charges to much... if you hire us van bam says half down half payments bahahafada..wants the rest of money 30 days he hires clients for bird. I'd say she shows up late more then on time it's ok.. dont you be late tho.. during covid new Secretary forgets to call clients confirmed court date court and correct court house. 2 times failed to notify if court was gonna happen (open or closed ) during covid some courts were closed so they switched to Stockton golllie G only if Ida known and its beyond me how someone can misplace paperwork.. ..oh they didn't bring any paperwork bird believes her and says you never dropped any paperwork off or it would be here.. once again bahaha I'll tell you one thing and only one thing "I DON'T LIE !!! felt like I was defending myself bird hardly did any talking when I spoke up she say shhhhh they domt wanna hear you talk.. you would think you pay for a service only to feel like your standing there by yourself.. coulda shoulda defended myself never once in "Any trouble have 5 misdemeanor and 1 felony and walk out with a petty light weight felony. .light weight cause I didn't rob a bank or shoot anyone or do any harm to anybody or anything. petty charges and bird couldn't get felony dropped. If I could give 0 stars I would. Initial discussion were very impressive when Mary Ann Bird was first hired to defend my brother in a criminal case but she eventually stopped answering questions and blocked all calls from my brother. She made promises of visiting him which she not only never did, she left the country instead and did not provide guidance on what to expect to either our family nor my brother in preparation for the hearing. When sentencing was coming, she provided no guidance to my brother and he was surprised when a court officer showed up to interview him. There were victim statements planned at the sentencing hearing but she did not prepare and just babbled. The judge even noted her comments were inappropriate. There was mention at sentencing of a restitution hearing. That was 2 months ago and neither my brother has heard anything about it from her. The family thinks it would have been better to get a public defender than to have her. We would have known not to expect much then and would not have been out 10s of thousands of dollars. Our hope is that her refusal to communicate with my brother or our family does not lead to a longer prison term than is necessary. Note that my complaint is not that he went to jail but that we got little advocacy for him with our money. read more
