Knowing that this was going to be one of the most important days in our lives, we did a lot of homework and interviewed several planners. In addition to experience and strong references, the single most important factor to us was chemistry. Warm and genuinely caring, we connected with Carisa from the start and knew we didn't want to entrust our wedding to anyone else. The other factors we considered: 1) clear, reliable communication skills - including the ability to listen and really understand our vision and intention for the event; 2) strong organizational skills and follow-through; 3) established relationships with the best vendors; 4) clear design inspiration and passion; and 5) a game-day MVP who calmly directs the show behind the scenes and makes everything run smoothly. Carisa delivered on every criteria, and, in fact, exceeded our high expectations. It has now been over a year since our special day, and we still get compliments from our guests who tell us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! The whole experience was truly joyous and magical, and Carisa and the entire Adornment Events team were essential in making our dream a reality. The financial investment in hiring Carisa and her A-team to seamlessly orchestrate our big day was worth every penny, and we could not have done it without them. We cannot recommend Carisa and Adornment Events highly enough!!!

Apparently people used to take shots and then take a lick off the salt pillars afterward, which is absolutely wild and somehow makes me love this place even more. The drinks are fantastic. This is an area with a lot of competition, so they mostly rise to the occasion. The space itself is modern and clean. The most unique feature is the two salt pillars in the bar area. I was told that I could lick them during/after certain drinks, but elected to pass on that unique invitation. Maybe next time? I ordered the two taco special that came with a fresh beer on tap. The beer was good (as expected) and the taco portion was adequate. However, the food came out at room temperature, so I recommend that the cooks work to find ways to deliver the food items in a way that preserves the temperature prior to having it served. It's possible that this was a one off, but it took away from the experience a bit for me. Parking is an ongoing challenge since it's NW Portland and very few businesses have their own dedicated lot. The drink menu was appealing and their liquor options were impressive. I definitely plan to try again and see if my food experience is a bit more elevated on a second stop. Hopefully I won't be solo next time!

We wanted an event that brought our community and family together to celebrate love, bikes, and camping in the stunning Columbia River Gorge, and it felt like Emee truly understood what was important to us from the start. There were so many tiny details she caught and helped us navigate. I particularly appreciated her calm support when we had a potential catering issue just three days before the wedding. She talked me off the ledge of worry and was willing to think through a full backup plan with me, before the issue resolved on its own. There were countless other instances of Emee handling things on the day of the wedding that let me, my husband, and our family just enjoy our time together. They were thorough, prompt, professional, and good at creatively solving problems as they arose. I would recommend EJP Events to anyone who is planning a large event - the experience was wonderful and my staff colleagues, supporters, and donors were all very impressed with the quality of our event. Emee and her team had great staffing at the event and skillfully coordinated all of our many shifting logistics for months leading up to the event. When we encountered obstacles, they handled them. When we needed to make changes, they cheerfully accommodated them. EJP has a "Can-do" attitude and they're both pragmatic and realistic about setting expectations while finding a way to get everything done. I'm so glad that we worked with EJP and they're at the top of my list for event planning in the future.

I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

It was out of this world and more. You and CBL team are not only amazing talented and incredible at what you do. I have absolutely loved bonding with you and experiencing this journey together. You and CBL team took this wedding to another level I didn't even dream was possible. Yes, I know what i wanted (everything) lol but not in a million years did I think I was going to be what it was. I highly recommend her and her team! We hired her for day of services but she went so above and beyond that and for that I am truly grateful. We had so many issues with vendors two weeks before the wedding and she worked tirelessly to get them all resolved before the wedding. It is because of her that I fully enjoyed my wedding day and was not worried about a thing. I think she is such an awesome person, she has such a chill demeanor and helped me to laugh at times when I thought my head was going to explode. She also stepped up and handled all the situations that I didn't want to be involved in. I have to say that originally we were super hesitant about spending money on wedding planning services given that everything seemed to cost more during wedding planning than we anticipated and I really thought I could handle it, but let me just tell you how wrong I was. There is no way my wedding would have been as amazing as it was if I did not hire Nadia. I am so grateful for her and everything she does, she is seriously the BEST!!!!!

Lately he's been cursing, using the F word and such and you're trying to get him to stop. "It's not right to use those words" you keep telling him. Imagine then the priest gets up to the podium for his sermon. All of the sudden he starts dropping bombs. You're shocked, you start feeling uncomfortable next to your son, but you stay because you think maybe he'll stop and maybe there is a point. But they don't stop. They just keep coming. You look down at your son feeling helpless. Obviously you don't want him getting the message that men who are supposed to be spiritual leaders speak this way. But there's more when the sermon ends the congregation applauds, even whoops. I've never been in any church service where people applauded ANYTHING, and there's a spiritual reason for that. Well that's what happened to me when I attended a service here. Awful. As people applauded I got up with my son and left feeling very disappointed that that was his first introduction to church. A priest who shows no respect for the tender ones who may be in his audience. A priest who speaks with crude language and is more interested in showing off and writing a nice piece than in passing along anything spiritual. Sadly we will never be back again. This happened many months ago, but I have been meaning to write a review since then because it has stuck so sharply in my mind.

The hotel itself has a nice and modern aesthetic. The lobby area isn't very large nor is the bar but I never saw it very crowded other than the nightly happy hour. I had booked a room with 2 Queen beds, using our Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, which provided a few benefits. We weren't upgraded, which I assume is because they had no availability which was fine. We did get 3 breakfast vouchers for up to $30 each person so that was definitely welcomed and we did not let it go to waste. Their breakfasts are really good! Although, my husbands meal on the last day was cold which was disappointing. Staff was hit or miss too. There was one waiter who was exceptional as well as the hostess who was amazing but the rest of the wait staff left a lot to be desired. Our room was #518 which was in the corner and I liked that because I didn't hear a lot of outside noise. However, the air conditioning unit gave off a loud, God awful sound when the temperature went below a certain degree. I thought it was a fluke at first so never addressed it with the hotel during my stay. Valet parking is $60 a night, which is pricey but expected when staying at a DT city location. For that price, I expect some help from the valet when it comes to luggage but that never happened. When my husband checked in, he was alone as I hadn't gotten to the city yet, and the valet wound up taking his truck before he had a chance to unload. So he had to wait while other guests who arrived after him were already unloading. Not the end of the world but definitely put a damper on the check in process and his initial experience. Our room was comfy and large enough for two people and our little dachshund for 3 nights but I didn't feel the room had enough storage and room for luggage if you had more than 2 guests staying. I do appreciate that they don't charge you extra for your dog. Overall, my credit card offered enough perks to make the stay worthwhile but not sure if I would stay here again.
