This is an update to my prior review dated May 9, 2024. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere when considering buying a dog from this breeder. My English Springer Spaniel was diagnosed with renal dysplasia, she will be TWO in December. Our Specialist explained this is a genetic issue between the two parents. I hope my story can save another family of having to go through the heart-ache of such a devastating diagnosis. We will do everything we can to give our "Lady Bird" a quality life. read more

Forgot to share that my Springer also became sick with the 2 parasites, that our Bird dog pup brought with him. Both dogs were quarantined to the cement patio for 2 months...We had to bleach the cement each time they went potty. We had to treat our lawn. We had multiple tests done at the vet to check to see if they were clear. It took months and a ton of $$ to clear them up. It's sad that the breeder allowed the pups to be sold so sick... I feel it's about them making a living and they didn't care about the pup. read more

We bought our sweet Springer Spaniel Ellie from Bird Dog Hills Kennel and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a springer or any of the other breeds they offer. They answered all my questions promptly, allowed me to visit and meet her a couple weeks before she was available to bring home. Our vet is very impressed with her health as well as her markings and demeanor and she never fails to get comments when we take her for a walk - even people driving by stop and admire her. My favorite was a woman in her SUV who stopped and opened her window to say that her day was made seeing sweet Ellie sitting obediently at the corner before crossing. She has brought such joy and happiness to our home after the passing of our sweet Springer Coco and we definitely recommend BDHK for anyone looking for a new fur baby. read more

I bought a puppy from Bird Dog Hill a little over a month ago. They picked someone to drive the puppy to us in Florida, which we also paid for. The puppy was sick when we got him and we had to take him to the vet the next day. The vet was very concerned when she saw the puppy due to being sick as well as malnourished, too skinny and apparently dehydrated. Needless to say, we had quite a bill. I sent the bill to the breeders saying I did not think it was fair I was landed with such a big bill not having the puppy for more than 2 days. They responded with the fact that the vet overcharged me and they couldn't be responsible for being overcharged at the vet. I wasn't even asking them to cover the whole bill (although I think it would be appropriate as he was noticeably ill when he came to me). This went back and forth a bit and then they stopped answering me. That being said, the vet handled the dog and he is all better now and he is a great happy dog. However, this was not a great experience and I cannot recommend. I am a little bummed out because they may be great breeders but I had a bad experience and I cannot recommend their service. read more

Horrible breeder. Bought a puppy here who contracted parvo within 24 hours of coming home. After $4,000 in medical bills, 3 days in the intensive care unit, fluids, anti nausea medication, and a blood transfusion, our dog finally pulled through. So I would like to start my review by saying what an absolutely wonderful experience I have had with this family owned kennel overall. The owners of this establishment has been nothing short of amazing and helping me fully understand the both basic and in-depth needs of the English Setter. A dog breed that they offer, admittedly I was lured in by the adorable photos as many are and they were quick to let me know the basic mannerism of this breed and the exercise requirements that come with them. Through out this process I have been speaking with Cheri one-on-one for approximately two months now asking all sorts of questions and viewing the puppies that are available. Upon meeting the puppies I was very pleased, they were all clean happy healthy and well-rounded puppies. I made my deposit and they were super generous working with me on a pickup time/date as my schedule can be hectic with a full-time job and being a mom. They sent me in the right direction with a vet that they also use, as I live locally and wanted the best care possible for my puppy. They gave me a sample of the dog food that my puppy has been eating, along with providing me places to purchase the dog food if I chose to continue to use it. (Which I have, and also highly recomend after doing research on the dog food) I enjoy keeping in touch with them sending update photos, and will absolutely being purchasing my next forever family member from them again. I'd give 10 stars if I could. If you are on the fence about where to purchase your next puppy look absolutely no further than Birddog Hill. read more

Parents Beware of Bird Dog Hill We purchased our Springer Spaniel from Bird Dog Hill a year ago as a Christmas present for our 3 year old son and 10 year old daughter. Roxy was my fourth dog and all prior dogs have been trained and well-behaved. Over the past year, we engaged a professional trainer and carefully worked with Roxy. Periodically since we acquired Roxy from Bird Dog Hill, she showed aggressive propensities. Recently, her aggressive tendencies took a turn for the worse and she attacked our son's face. He was calmly petting her at the time and my wife was beside them observing. Unfortunately, we had to rush our son to urgent care and then to the emergency room. He looked like Rocky after a bad fight and the dog's teeth resulted in numerous scratches and punctured his face just below the eye. While the injuries were quite bad, they could have been far worse because of the location on his face. The whole ordeal has been very tough on the kids and we're left with an unenviable decision about what to do with the dog. Our warning: parents beware. It would be quite unfortunate if any other parent had to encounter an experience like this with a Springer Spaniel from Bird Dog Hill. read more

STAY AWAY!!! PUPPY MILL They need to be shut down They do not tell you the truth We wanted an English Lab. When I called and spoke to Mrs Kinder she told me they were English Labs We drove over an hour and a half and purchased what we were told was an "English" lab to find our he isn't . The puppy was very thin and had dew claws removed way too deep. They told us that we could take the puppy since we drove so far he was almost 7 weeks old When by law you are not to let a puppy go before 8 weeks (found that out when I took him to the vet) We were also told and they advertised on puppy find that you would get papers and that the pups were AKC registered (They sent us pictures and names of the parents) When I asked for the papers Mr Kinder told me he would mail them Several months later I called and he said these pups didn't have papers I told him it was advertised and they said they would mail them His response was "You should love a dog with or without papers" He said for another $200 he would send them to me. Then I noticed he took down the post where it said dogs would come with papers When I had my Attorney send him a letter they finally complied and sent the papers for my dog "ONLY TO NAME THE WRONG FATHER ON HIS AKC FORM" Very Deceitful people as I said STAY AWAY read more
