Every time we visit Sarasota, we love to turn off the Ringling Bridge and park at Bird Key Park and walk around looking at the water, the birds, the trees, and the Ringling Bridge. There is a nice paved walkway to the bridge. The tourists and locals love to walk down there and just hang out under the bridge. The views are great!! There are benches along the way to rest. The park is well taken care of and very popular with ealkets and runners and fishermen.. The parking is along the waterfront with a lot of parking spaces. You can walk your dogs as long as you clean up after them. We usually go there in the morning and again in the evening. Beautiful photo ops also. read more

Love this cool park along the water by and under the bridge from downtown Sarasota to Lido Key. Great water and bridge views. Nice benches. Rock to climb on. A dock. A nice walking path. Beachy areas. Night light and boat views as.they go by. Views of downtown Sarasota. Peeps fish here. Dog friendly. Great views day and night. Free parking as of 2022. Very fun spot. It's not a park at all. It's a road with a path next to it. Not sure why anybody would call it to park unless we were missing something but we checked on the map and we asked a couple of people and it did not seem like there was anything more than a walkway next to a busy main road. read more

I am not from here but I can proudly say I have come now four times. The only upgrade I would make at this little park would be a bathroom. But the views, sunsets, waterfront, and plenty of places to sit along the shore makes this a perfect little spot for a chat or a stroll. The view on one side is of the harbor and the view on the other side is of the bridge is ascending over the harbor. I could never tire of the views. Definitely a must! read more

We always have a nice time coming to this park and my dogs absolutely love it. There are so many things to do here. You can fish, launch a canoe or kayak, walk your dogs, look for shells, ride a bike, tie up a hammock, have a picnic, or jus sit, relax, and enjoy the view. I can't forget my dog's favorite thing to do, play in the water! This park is definitely dog friendly, there is a dog poo station and a hose down area for your pup after they go for a splash. The views there are great. You can see the bay and a nice view of Sarasota. There is also a huge green belt area you can take your dog to run but be careful it can get very muddy. It's a nice park to visit and it's a secret gem. Only downsides are there aren't any restrooms and the parking lot is small, but we have never have a problem with parking and it's free! It's our little relaxing hide away and our dog's favorite swim spot. read more

Bird Key Park is a nice place to see views of the Causeway Bridge in Sarasota. Bird Key Park has picnic tables, benches, and many parking spots. A lot of people fish on both sides of the bridge. We like to park here and walk across the bridge and back for exercise. Just a Note - Bird Key Park is located before St. Armands Circle on the right after you cross the bride coming from downtown. Honestly, this is a pretty boring park. No sand. Just a strip of concrete and a nice view, but on the day I attended this park I witnessed an elderly man having an epileptic seizure, which I'm sure would be a shocking experience for just about anyone. Luckily for "G" (not his actually name) I work in an industry that keeps me light on my feet and quick to react so it was certainly lucky for him that I was there to help. There are a number of old wives tales (sorry but it's true) regarding epilepsy but I knew enough not to put a wallet in his mouth, or hold onto his tongue or throw cold water on him. Its sad that these practices are still being used. I certainly did not use smelling salts on him. People need to understand that using smelling salts on an epileptic in full grand map seizure is like rubbing a strong magnet on a VHS tape. Bad idea. Instead I did exactly what anyone should do if they come across a seizure victim. First, call 911. Get the experts on the way. After that I held George's hand and stroked his hair and knelt down very close to him and whispered words of encouragement. Even though an epileptic is trapped deep inside their own mind, they can still persevere the outside world and helpful words do get through and work. The EMT's couldn't thank me enough when they arrived, which I really appreciated. It's not everyday you truly get a chance to help someone. read more

This park it's not a park ! It is in 95% in concrete under the bridge and it is so small!!! I came here in Sarasota with my family and my dog , and this is not at all a dog friendly place! No beaches for the dog in any hour of the day !!! I understand the fact that all day it's impossibile(by the way i don't want bring my dog on the beach all day!!!) but early in the morning and late in the evening could be better!!! read more
