If you have been to Sunset Cliffs, you have seen this white covered attraction. Your eyes can't help to stray there and look at the rock and the birds visual display of their appreciation for the rock. It have become a spot for me to tell people, hey guess where I am at. Sunset Cliffs. Meet me near the BS Rock. What I find more funny is that we have a Yelp about the BS Rock. You can't help but to take pics and write a review. I dare you.

Place is as the name describes. It's a rock. Covered in bird shit. Good fishing spot near it though.

Look, we went on a Tuesday which has a meatball special; 5 meatballs over polenta, with a red sauce and thin sliced guanciale, hard to argue against. The meatballs were tender, flavorful, and filling. The sauce was top tier. My wife got a tonnarelli cacio e pepe, great flavor. The kids loved their homemade rigatoni noodles. Staff were friendly and attentive, especially Nick. He brought the service, Big Nick Energy. We put him in our top 5 of waiters interaction. We will go back, but we want Nick as our waiter. San Diego is full of Mexican and seafood, so change it up and give Elvira's a try. Do make a reservation, though.

The restaurant is beautiful. It feels like a renovated home that's been transformed into a cozy dining space, and the décor is thoughtfully done throughout. Even the plates and serving ware were charming and added to the overall experience. The food was very good, and the portions were generous. We ended up completely stuffed and couldn't finish everything, which was a bit of a bummer because we had been hoping to try dessert. The cocktails were also creative and unique, making for a fun addition to the meal. Service was fine--friendly enough, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the ambiance was the highlight for me, paired with solid food and generous portions. If you're looking for a cozy Italian spot in San Diego, Elvira is definitely worth a visit.

The bastions of Ocean Beach Elementary and Sacred Heart Academy are right there. There is the Ocean Beach Park & Recreation Center-where generations of children have played and hung out. The hippie haven of the Children's Energy Center-a daycare like no other is nearby and there are other Church-related daycares close to it all. A small, passive park attached to the other side of the Ocean Beach Park & Rec Center alley-the Saratoga Kid's Park is a gathering spot for lots of local kids who come up with their parents in strollers, trikes, bikes or simply on foot. On the weekends, the Park is overrun with them and the benches and picnic tables get quite a workout too. The Jungle Gym and swings are only a few years old- the Park was recently refurbished and freshened up with new equipment. What's nice about the Kiddie Playground there-it doesn't look ghetto or like a hang-out for punky teens. The Park & Rec must maintain it since there is no graffiti or trash. The only time it's gross is when the perpetually-flaky OB dog-owners bathroom their dogs in the sand or lawn area. Otherwise, a perfect spot to roll up with the kids and let them run around till they get hungry or tired-or preferably both! Which could only mean blessed words to hear, which are: NAP TIME!

I did NOT think i'd be in SD this soon again, yet tis was the year, AND I FINALLY RESERVED THIS TIME RAAAHHH :PPP I loved loved loved the make your own pasta concept. the forgot what we both ordered for our pastas, but they were DELICIOUS. you can absolutely taste it's made in house. its unbelievably pricy if you want to add proteins or anything, but it was nonetheless delicious. I will say it's mainly the presentation that wows, because any fresh pasta place would be this yummy ykyk. but if you want the date-night-once-in-a-while-time-out experience, this place is beautiful. plus, the service is AMAZING. they constantly checked up on my table, i never went a second without water. not only did i recieve tiramisu for my birthday dessert... It is absolutely beautiful. They have wonderful music playing at a reasonable volume to accompany watching raviolis be made right in front of you! The service is exceptional. We never had to even think of needing water, menus, anything extra - it was brought before we anticipated it! Our server Tommy was wonderful & thought of everything. Now, the best part - the FOOD!! Their pasta is so obviously handmade in house, the texture and butteriness of the noodles was extraordinary. I ordered the fettuccine with the vegan mushroom sauce & added shrimp - divine. I think one of my favorite parts of the menu is the pricing with vegan items. Too many times vegan items are doubled in price & they had everything equal - INCLUDING the DELICIOUS cannolis!!! Such a wonderful experience. I cannot wait to be back!

Given the right conditions, you can see a distinct green spot above the sun's upper limb, that usually only lasts for no longer than two seconds. It is even more rare, the green flash can resemble a green ray shooting up from the sunset or sunrise point. This sculpture is the work of Malcolm Jones and is dedicated to that phenomenon, but it in no way aids you of viewing. You will find it on the Mission Beach boardwalk. The piece is made of a solid cast acrylic archway that is supported by two concrete pillars. There is also a bronze plaque describing the green flash phenomenon located on the sculpture and another title plaque. It was made in 2002 and is in fair shape, especially considering its age. Some has put stickers on it and the plaques are show signs of corrosion. It is unique and I actually learned something new in the process. It definitely sticks out. I have come to the terms that I will probably not ever see a green flash. It takes masterful planning, precise timing, and patience. I have 2 of the 3 (you can figure out which one I am missing). Parking here is simple. There is a free parking lot right by it. You can park, get out and talk a closer look. Well, as with most sculptures that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. The beach, a park, and an amusement park are in walking distance if you are looking for ideas.

Well, it happens at sunrise or sunset, right before the sun drops out of view or starts to appear, it is said that a green flash appears for about 2 seconds.
