I attended a wedding here last weekend and I would not recommend this venue. The service was slow and water glasses were never refilled. During the reception an employee thought it was an appropriate time to spray a strong smelling cleaner to mop. The Caesar salad was made with wilted lettuce. They never brought a cake cutter for the bride to cut the cake. The most appalling thing was that during the wedding while the bride was on the dance floor, the owner confronted her. The confrontation was in regard to some plastic stand that she said the children in the wedding party damaged and that the bride had to pay her $600+ dollars for it. I was in shock that she interrupted her during her own wedding for something so insignificant. It was a plastic stand that is on Amazon for under $100. The only positive thing is that the bartender were very nice, but don't waste your money on this venue. read more

The Good - The Bad - The Ugly - The Uglier This review is in relation to a Sweet 16 Gold Package at Birdside Banquet Hall "A" The Good - The hall was beautifully decorated with every last detail. The hosts Carlitos and Jenny were wonderful. They were extremely helpful, very accommodating and handled the event with great care. The appetizers and entrée were delicious. I appreciated the extra services that came with the gold package (Photographer/Videographer, Hair and make-up artist, MC, Cake, Limo). The hair and make-up artist, JC Moy, was awesome. My daughter looked like a princess. The photographer, Varadero, did an amazing job with the photos. The MC, Maricarla, was very professional, well spoken, and ran our event well. I highly recommend them all. The Bad - The hall is located in a shopping center. The area surrounding the hall is not pretty. The 2nd level parking is tricky to find. Once you find it, you have to go up a ramp through the back of the shopping center and pass a big dumpster on your way up. This was my least favorite thing. The hall did not provide a throne chair. I had to rent my own and have it delivered. The mirror seating chart was beautiful. However, lots of typos in the spelling of people's names (even my name!) I did appreciate their ability to change some names around at the last minute. The Ugly - The owner Carlos (not to be confused with the host Carlitos) is non-responsive. When I learned the hall did not provide a throne chair, I suggested they purchase a beautiful one I had found online. I also offered to pay for half the cost (because it would cost me just the same to rent one). I was told the owner Carlos would call me and he never did. In addition, since we had an issue during our event, Carlos was supposed to call me to discuss. As I write this review, it's been 6 days after our event and the owner still has not called. The Uglier - The DJ was extremely difficult to get a hold of. Our first conversation went well but after that I never heard from him again. We had to talk to discuss the LED media arrangement. He never had the time. The DJ bailed out on us the day of the event and sent a back-up DJ in his place (who was not as familiar with managing the LED screens). As a result, one of the most important highlights of my daughter's Sweet 16 was ruined. Her baby to lady photo/video slideshow did not work well on the LED monitors. The sound was off and the pictures were shown with her head cut off. I was mortified. It was horrible. The reason we picked this hall was because of the LED monitors. There was also a glitch during the father daughter dance where the monitors were off, then on, then off again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Pro-Deejays Corp. Stay away from this company. Extremely unprofessional and unresponsive. Birdside Banquet Hall highly advertises their LED screens. It all looks very nice but when it came to my daughter's Sweet 16 we had one too many glitches. I provided them with my LED files two weeks before the event. It was during this time that everything should have been tested. Apparently, the only one that can test the LED screen is the unresponsive DJ. I reached out to him multiple times and told him it was extremely important that the files worked well. He was just too busy for me. As a result the baby to lady slideshow, one of the most important highlights of a Sweet 16, was ruined. Thanks to the beautiful salon (b), the attentive service, the delicious meal (spinach stuffed chicken breast, bow tie pasta, green beans) preceded by yummy appetizers, and the free-flowing open bar, my daughter's baby on shower on July 8th was a success. The servers and bartenders and DJ did a great job and were super friendly and accommodating. However, i was not happy with the cake provider (the baker who I don't think was owner- she was a woman) who was very unfriendly and actually rude, but I'm not taking off a star for that. I hope the owner of the hall who was great through the entire process, takes note of this. When I was ordering the cake, another customer also complained about the baker's poor, unprofessional attitude. Other than that hiccup, I highly recommend Birdside Banquet Hall. read more

Decided to hold my wedding reception at Birdside Banquet Hall. The owner, Carlos is extremely pleasant to work with. He is knowledgeable and detail oriented. Gave us plenty of useful ideas for our wedding and even helped spruce up our decorations. By far, the most amount of compliments I received was regarding how gorgeous everything looked. We also interacted with Jenny who was also very pleasant to work with and knowledgeable. I had a vegan plate that needed to be served, along with various food allergies for some of my guests. This was made a note of and taken care of by the staff the night of our wedding. Everything was under control, and we could relax and enjoy our night. I was worried how they would be able to serve a 200 person reception, but the food came out quickly, tasted great (I also received many compliments) and was also picked up quickly. We ordered the chicken stuffed with ham and cheese with bow tie pasta and veggies. Carlos spent the night there with us and helped us with anything we needed. We felt at home and were rest assured that they had everything under control. We would HIGHLY recommend Birdside Banquet Hall!! read more

I had my event here and it could of went better. The package I chose and paid was not full filled. Package stated " appetizer" and "security", didn't get neither. I told Carlitos I wanted to reserve 2 tables and I would of provided my own party favor to save the tables and he said the banquet can add the cards saying "reserved" but, he didn't add it to the only TWO tables I asked for. I also asked Carlitos for a TWO tables, the game table and the candy table and he said no problem that can be done. The day of my event, the servers (only Spanish speakers) were confused and Carlitos said I never told him and I was supposed to draw the floor plan which he never asked me to do. So I had to pay an additional $50 for moon table when he actually offered me for free the first time we met when I booked the date and AGAIN he didn't recall what he said. I brought my candy table and only had one hour to decorate the candy table and the other decorations I had. The bathrooms are HORRIBLE! No AC and the smell lingers. The food was okay, the salad was four pieces of lettuce and 2 croutons and the meat was warm, taste like left over. I spent $3,550 just on the banquet hall and wondered if I was better off doing my own event in my backyard. Friend of mine had her baby shower in the cutler ridge location and recommend the banquet but I DO NOT RECOMMEND the Birdside banquet. Unless you follow up with Carlitos everyday (have him write down what he says and sign it) and bring a fan for the bathrooms with candles, your own appetizer and salad, and your own tables. We had a wonderful experience. Carlitos was very helpful and professional. We were able to select a package without a photographer because I had always used in the past my own photographer. Jen was amazing helping with the decorations, making sure everything was beautiful. Everyone at the party said the hall was gorgeous. The Video screen was beautiful. Maricarla was a wonderful MC. Came here for a friend's baby's baptism celebration. The time spent with friends was great, but the food and drinks served were terrible. Everything seemed to be of the cheapest/worst quality they could find. The food served was a Caesars salad, which was just lettuce and dressing. Then the entree was the hardest and most rubbery meat in the world, was more like you were eating and trying to chew on the bottom of a shoe. The mashed potatoes then tasted like they were straight out of a box. And the sweet plantains served were definitely the frozen kind that you get in the grocery store. Now the drinks served at the bar were just as bad as the food. I asked for a rum and coke and got some no name brand cola which tasted horrible with some rum, which I couldn't even finish (it was that bad). Then my friends got a piña colada, so I got one too, but that was also made with some cheap/nasty piña colada mix. If I could I would've given this place no stars, cause it was just that bad. I don't even know how they are still in business with the quality of things they put out. Would most definitely never ever recommend this place to anyone, even if it was all they could afford, better to do the event at your house! read more

The hall itself looks fine. You have a flight of stairs to climb. The bartender didnt know how to make a simple drink like a Fuzzy navel. Dee Jay? What Dee Jay? This guy was obviously an employee who was playing premixed CD's. Didnt play ANY current top 40 music at this party. The food was awful, premixed boxed or can food!! The service was good up until the party was over and then commenced the rude "Get the hell out!" behavior. Can't recommend this to anyone, unless you on a low budget and desparate for a hall! read more

The food, the decorations, the service, all a success. I had my quinces at Birdside Banquet hall under the original management and when my father decided to book my bridal shower at the venue more than ten years later I was worried. Luckily this place has been completely remodeled and modernized, we are talking about a total face lift from the original. We worked with the owner Carlos who was super patient and paid attention to every single detail. He even gave us suggestions on how to better shape our vision. Throughout the entire process Carlos put our minds at ease that everything was taken care of. Our guest were blown away with out Havana Nights Theme bridal shower and the food. Even in Miami it is sometimes hard to find real authentic Cuban food, but our guest keep talking about how good the yuca was! It's quite funny. The DJ played a great variety of music and everyone had a great time. It was very memorable and we wouldn't of had it any other way. I had my fifteen here many years ago and it was great. Parking is available many areas. There is a long isle that is permanently there that is great to use for a ceremony that you will do for a wedding or any little choreography show or Just a nice entrance! I had my daughter's Quince at Birdside Banquet Hall on Black Friday right after Thanksgiving and I must say we had the most wonderful experience. Their customer service is on and beyond. A great team work and an excellent friendly service. Being the fact that we planned it in less than two months, everything came out perfect, the decorations was beautiful, the banquet hall itself is big, the food was amazing, the music was great. I had my 30th birthday celebration at this Banquet Hall. This place was perfect for us because everything from the decorations, food, and service were all excellent. I don't live in Miami but my whole family does so we decided to do it in Miami. This place is beautiful and the lady that does the decorations told me not to worry about anything and let me tell you she was right! This is the best banquet hall in town. If you're looking around and shopping venues, I suggest to try this one first and save yourself a lot of time. They have the best staff who will attend you from beginning to end, and will even be there during your party. Carlos, the owner, is extremely professional and diligent in his work. Giselle and Jenny his office are on the ball, so regardless who you speak to, all 3 of them are up to date on your event. My event took place on September 30th for my husband's surprise party with 75 guests. From choosing the cake, centerpieces, and table linens, Carlos was there to recommend ideas based on his experience. For someone like me who had never planned a party, he made this process easy and seamless. I should mention that the party was originally scheduled for the weekend of hurricane irma, and had to be canceled and rescheduled within a two-week period. Even with the stress of having to re-invite, re-RSVP guests, they made things super easy. The prices are very reasonable, the salon was decorated beautifully, and most importantly the food was very good. My guests all gave me positive feedback towards the food mentioning that it was served hot and was very good and flavorful. If you've ever been to a banquet hall, you know how the food is always mediocre, served cold, and the "chicken taste like wood"... as the song says! I hosted my daughter's 15's at Birdside (Jan 2017). This facility is under new management; it has been completely revamped and has a clean, white, streamline and modern design. What I write in this review, will not give you my true perception and/or experience, unless you host your own event here and experience what my family, guests and I did. I signed the contract almost 1 year prior therefore, I interacted with Carlos and Gigi numerous times throughout the months. These 2 individuals are incredibly professional, organized, creative, funny, thoughtful, and an immense pleasure to work with. The month before the event, my daughter and I were given homework with deadlines (photos, music, table charts, etc). Throughout the month, they gave opinions, recommendations and advice without being overbearing or imposing - they were there to help make our vision come to life. Our theme was Cinderella and while I had my own vision and expectations, never in my wildest dreams, did I imagine what I saw the day of the event. Upon entering, we were received by a beautiful and breathtaking entrance - my daughter and I literally gasped - and, so did all of our guests. The banquet hall itself was absolutely stunning. The bar drinks were fantastic, the food was great, the cake was gorgeous, the DJ kept everyone dancing and the staff was top notch; the compliments by our family and friends were never ending.
