This farmers market north of Harmon street is huge! There is plenty of free street parking on Old Woodward too. They have booth after booth of items to feast your eyes on and fill your bellies. The things today were: produce flowers (really big, healthy sunflowers) crafts prepared foods pastries and breads teas live entertainment This is a great way to start your Sunday. The farmers market runs from June 1 - October 26. It is every Sunday from 9 am - 2 pm. There is a sign that says No Dogs for health reasons, but like me, about a dozen other dog lovers had their pooches in tow.

I love coming to the Birmingham Farmers Market! Like others said, it is on the smaller side of things, but there are plenty of vendors to choose from. The always have a great selection of flowers and produce. My fiancé loves checking out the food trucks. Bring your pup with you! My dog loves exploring the farmers market, and vendors are excited to see her.

My review is about this venue as an event space…read more I attended a networking event at the RO Farmers Market on last week. I was first pleased with the parking. There's parking surrounding the building as it shares lot space with the municipal offices of the city. It's quite a large space, great for expos, fairs, etc. I could even see it as a wedding venue; which it likely is. The are food services spaces and bathrooms inside of the building, and a nice outdoor sitting/dining space.

Finally made a trip to Royal Oak Farmers Market and it did not disappoint! I lived basically across…read morethe street from the farmers market for a full year and never visited, and many years later, I finally manage a visit! The parking situation is interesting and seems small at first, but I think it's surprisingly a manageable amount of room for the traffic through Royal Oak Farmers Market. It might require a loop or two around either side of the farmers market building through. What's most attractive about this farmers market is that it's completely indoors, with a handful of vendors just outside the entrances, so this runs basically year round, which I love! It's one giant space inside, completely dog-friendly and there are bathrooms available for use as well! The vendors are lined up table next to table lining the perimeter of the building and a smaller circle in the center, allowing the walkways to be in between these two "circles" and allowing for the ability to loop around the entire building without much thought. There is a wonderful variety in vendors at the farmers market, plenty of produce-based vendors, organic produce in particular, plant sales, snacks, and more art/craft-based vendors too! They are basically a small version of Eastern Market if you can't make it out to Eastern Market! I was in a bit of a hurry this first time, so I was only able to do one quick loop around, but I am definitely excited to come back here soon to look in more depth at all that they have to offer because there is a TON! The prices also seem very reasonable as well. Love Royal Oak Farmers Market and I will definitely be coming back again soon, especially throughout the winter months! :)

I visited the farmstand a few minutes after 9 AM this morning. I was told in a very unfriendly…read moremanner that they did not open until 9:30 AM. The market opens at 9 AM and there is nothing to indicate that the farm stand does not open until 9:30 AM. The woman finally said to me in a very rude voice what did you want? I told her I just wanted to buy some tomatoes and she told her son to get me some. I paid $6.75 for four large tomatoes. One is so bruised that it has to be thrown out. They sell Amish cookies, which are delicious. A few weeks ago I asked what varieties they had that day. I said I was interested in oatmeal raisin. I was handed a plastic container which I paid for. They were fairly expensive, but I usually freeze them and take them out one at a time. When I got home, I noticed that there was a sticker on the container that said Bay City bakery. The cookies were so stale that I had to throw them all away. I mentioned it to her today and she said you didn't buy those here! I've never heard of that bakery. We didn't sell you those! You must have bought those someplace else. I explained to her that their farmstand was the only place I purchased things from at the Clawson market. She then raised her voice and said again that I didn't buy them from her. I didn't ask for my money back. I had paid quite a bit for them, and was simply pointing it out very nicely. Apparently, she is not aware of how to treat a customer or what customer service is. While I was there, two more women came up and wanted to purchase things and again she basically snarled at them and said we don't open until 9:30 AM. They said they would go have breakfast and come back. I doubt they ever returned. I do my best to support local farmers. That being said, I will never go back to the Clawson market again. They have never been friendly at the stand, but today they took it to a whole new level. If I cannot get to the Royal, Oak, Farmers, Market, I will simply do without. It is a shame because their attitude ruins it for the other vendors there. My daughter wanted to go there next week and I told her I was never going there again. She said well then neither will I. This is not how you treat customers. This is not how you maintain your business. I work hard for my money just like everyone else does. Even at the very end before I walked away, I wished her a very nice Sunday. She never said a word.

I went here last year and just noticed it has no Yelp reviews as of yet…read more It's a decent market but very small. I went last year once, and had to Google directions on how to find it, though if you're driving down Livernois/Main St. in Clawson, you will most likely see signs for it. There was a small musical group playing and I'd say maybe 10-15 stands total. I ended up buying some large tomatoes and they were good, but not great. The best place to park is in the small lot there or on the street nearby.

Although it was busy and there were lines. The line for donuts went by very quick! We got the cinnamon sugar and plain donuts and they were fantastic! They came out fresh and in bags of 6! It was perfect for mixing and matching. We also picked up two pumpkins to carve and they were priced like 50 cents a pound (don't quote me) Over all this was the perfect place to get me in the mood for fall!

However, during our most recent visit, we noticed quite a few changes from previous years, and unfortunately, not all for the better. They no longer have the scenic hayride that used to include a free donut and a cup of apple cider with your ticket purchase. Now, it's $5 per person, and instead of a peaceful scenic ride, it stops at every station and they no longer give you a donut & cider with ticket purchase. When we asked about the change, we were told it was because they weren't making money off the old setup. I understand businesses need to adjust, but it really took away from the experience. That scenic ride with the cider and donut was always one of the highlights for us ; something we truly looked forward to every year. They did add more bouncy houses for the kids, which is nice, but the ones they had before were just as fun. The food was about the same, decent, but nothing special. It was noticeably more expensive this year. $5 for a single ear of corn felt excessive. On the positive side, the cinnamon donuts are still amazing, and the apple cider is as delicious as ever. I also enjoyed the wine tasting, which is always fun, though seating is still limited and could be improved. Overall, the visit just didn't have the same charm or warmth as before. We still had an okay time, but it didn't feel as memorable as past years. Sadly, I think this might be our last year visiting, we'll probably look for a new orchard next fall.
