Dream Market is definitely my go-to place for Middle Eastern groceries! I come here for all my yogurt, cheeses, yogurt drinks, homemade bread, pita bread, and all the other goodies I can't always find at a regular grocery store. Fair warning, it can be an absolute madhouse in here! It gets very busy, and my biggest complaint is that there never seem to be enough registers open, so checking out can definitely test your patience. Living in DC area was so excited about coming to the new store to shop all things which I did. Then went to restaurant attached for dinner and more things to buy and fly back to DC which included lamb liver dinner, two different rices, lamb tongue and hummus. There is no organization one person passed me to another. I had no idea how and where to start. Staff is busy and rushed but mostly cordial except for one who was nasty short and disrespectful. We ordered food from Dream Market for a retirement party. The food tasted pretty amazing. There were so many dishes to choose from and we enjoyed them all. The red rice with the whole chicken might have been my favorite thing ordered. The meat platter was good too. Only wish we knew the difference between lamb and beef due to dietary restrictions. I went to get my husband watermelon seed and lifted the lid and a moth flew out Called and asked for manager she said she is when I told her the complaints she asked me to hold on a min but 40 min later they hung up that was 2 year ago. i haven't gone back since. What can b done to improve? Accept the fact that your groceries just might be spoiled. Apologize immediately with a smile and don't be rude. Refund with cash. No store credit if not wanted. I have to mention just about every one that works there must be miserable. Dream Market is usually a great experience, but today was a major exception. One of the guys behind the counter/oven was incredibly rude and dismissive. He told me to come back in 20 minutes for my order. When I returned, it still wasn't ready, and he casually said 'another 20 minutes.' I reminded him this was the second delay and mentioned that I had already finished my shopping, so I just needed confirmation on the new wait time. Instead of responding, he turned his back and ignored me. Later, when my friend approached him, he asked if she was with me and claimed that I had yelled at him which I did not. His behavior was unprofessional, dismissive, and childish. It felt less like a miscommunication and more like an ego-driven reaction to being questioned. I'm choosing to leave this review rather than engage further, but I hope management addresses this kind of attitude behind the counter. read more

Went here because the food is pretty good and the prices are wonderful this time. The service was awful. I went in at 8:15 PM. They close at 9 PM. Says the website they told me we're no longer taking orders. What did you want to order anyways I just wanted a sandwich with just chicken and garlic a very plain so they took my order. They gave me a sandwich that was cold chicken and had a bunch of lettuce in it. Other than the food being terrible this time and the service being awful the girl whispered to the other girl making eye contact with me, and they were laughing at me, made me very uncomfortable. I usually go to the Dream Market on 15 Mile to pick up fresh Samoon and Khubz, but this time I decided to go a little further north to this location. Let me say that this 18 Mile store is the superior store. The interior is much larger, which is able to easily accommodate the large number of patrons without feeling way too crowded like the other store. This location also has a bakery area, large prepared foods counter, another area specifically for mezze and various salads/dips, and two huge aisles/areas filled with bulk spices, snacks, and candies. I thought the 15 Mile location had everything and was the best Middle Eastern/Iraqi market in Metro Detroit, but this place takes it to another level. Both locations always seem to have huge lines for fresh bread. Here, the samoon is 4/$1 for some of the freshest and puffiest bread you can find. The samoon are a little smaller than other places and don't have as much of a fire charred flavor, but they are fluffy, easily pull apart to reveal the pocket in the middle, and are the cheapest by far. The other location used to brush the samoon with olive oil and sesame seeds, but they didn't do it here. I'm not sure if it's just here or both places stopped. At any rate, there's a reason there is always a huge line for bread. In addition to samoon, the bakery area has sweet breads and khubz. We picked up some generically labelled "Sweet Pies" that were 4/$5.99 on a whim and wow, after trying it, I was super impressed. It's spiral layered dough that's soaked in sweet orange blossom water and then covered with pistachios and earthy spices, perhaps cardamom and cinnamon? The sugary mixture caramelizes on the bottom of the pastry and when baked, it creates a fantastic fried caramelized texture around the edges. I wish I knew the actual name of this sweet; I tried searching online but I couldn't find anything resembling it! From the prepared foods area, we picked up a giant 12 inch diameter Meat Pie (Aroog) for only $1. It turned out be be pretty mild in flavor and wasn't the most appealing to eat, but it was good to try. The mezze counter is so busy they have a number system so you know when you can order. We ended up only getting tabbouleh ($5.99/lb) but everything looked delicious. The tabbouleh here is the real deal, mixed with tons of parsley, onions, tomatoes, and bulgur. The amount of oil and lemon juice added is perfect; this tabbouleh honestly is cheaper and better than what you can get at many restaurants. It tasted very fresh - I saw a ton of people getting this, so I can imagine they constantly make more and refresh the offering. I didn't get the garlic or hummus this time - I've gotten them from the other store in the past and I have to say that they are kind of mediocre. The garlic is overly lemony and the hummus tastes like grocery store hummus. Perhaps this location is better; I'll have to try next time. At the end of our visit, we hit up the bulk section where we found a variety of things to try. Grilled Cashews ($6.77/lb) - These are extra crunchy cashews, skin on, salted, with a slight char taste. They have an aromatic, toasted flavor that is a step above your ordinary conventional roasted cashew. Unique and very yummy. Various Kri Kri/Japanese Peanuts ($3.99/lb) - Yum! These are peanuts covered with hard fried dough, then sprinkled with various flavors. Some are slightly sweet, some are very spicy. The coating has a very hard crunch - it feels like you could chip your teeth if you're not careful. I'm usually hesitant on buying bulk goods since they can get stale, but this store has such high turnover that everything seems to be super fresh. I'm used to buying the Kasugai brand roasted nuts assortment, which is way more expensive for the weight, so I thought this was a great deal. Funny thing is that apparently the Japanese Peanuts were invented in Mexico and in Japan, they call these Mexican Peanuts. Ulker Toffee Mastic Candy ($5.99/lb) - Woah, first time we tried mastic candy. It's like a hard taffy with a sweet, pine tar-like taste. After eating one, I determined this candy is not for me! Must be an acquired taste! We got so much food to try and we didn't even hit any of the aisles in the middle for normal groceries or frozen foods. There's just so much to look at in this store! This will be my go-to store from now on whenever I'm in Sterling Heights. read more

Love this place. They offer wide variety of unique items and also have super reasonable produce. However, the main reason I go here is for the bread and the garlic sauce. For the price and quality it is hard to beat. We also love the Iraqi Salad. and the sesame candies. read more

I normally go in to grab some produce for the day/week everything is normally fresh or decent quality , the men stocking are so nice and helpful and if you're PATIENT with them they'll get you more product from the back if there's none left. Sometimes the customers are really nasty and I don't blame the workers for being nasty back. Love grabbing a little carryout from the restaurant in the corner, the ladies are so nice and pretty and although they're really busy and sometimes they don't answer the phone or they give u a ridiculous wait time; it is what it is, I wouldn't want to be mean to them because I want to return back at a different time because their food is always fresh and tasty, the bakery is good too just get there early bc things sell out fast and sometimes there's a crowd of people waiting to get fresh bread and the bakers can't keep up. Wow this place is messed up.People please watch the cashiers ring up your items and check your receipts. the cashiers always charge you extra they have done this to my mom a few times and the just charge my cousin $50 extra on his bill. they are not the only ones I was in there one day and an older lady was talking to me and said they over charge the elderly cause they think we are stupid so please tell anyone that you have elderly in your family to be careful. week later my sister. took my mom there but waited for my mom in the car, once she was done shopping g my mom checked her receipt and again they charged her $60 extra so my sister went in and spoke to manager and they refined and she told them this isn't the first time your cashiers have done this but it will be the last time you over charge my mom. please be careful and check your receipt and also expiration dates on their items. read more

I love this Market they have basically everything you need and more. Prices are great. It's definitely better than going to Meijer and Kroger that's for sure. This store even has a restaurant inside it which prices are great compared to going to a different restaurant and the sandwiches are 10 when they are 4.50 over here for the same exact sandwich. This Market makes fresh bread daily and not just one kind which is amazing. Who wants to eat old bread when you can have fresh bread? Love how nice the cashiers are in the market and in the restaurant. I always get help when I need it too from the produce to the meat department and the grocery areas too. I live in Lexington Michigan and it's a drive but it's so worth it to me. I have gone to stores near me and I can easily spend 300 for not a lot but I'm spending 100 here for a lot that's why I choose this grocery store before any other. I can't leave this store without buying ice cream by the cashier. My favorites are the Coconut and the Pistachio and wow they are yummy. Also they have Organic Food as well as beans which my children only love the organic white beans. Dream Market is like the small Fruit Markets scattered around the area but grocery store size. The selection is amazing, food from many different places. They seem to have a butcher processing meat, for Islamic people, they are certified Halal, per the certificate on the meat case. I'm a Polish person so I don't need that certification but everything I've tried from the department is tasty and of high quality. The always seem to have ground lamb which is hard to find. My family loves the produce I buy which also seems to last longer than chain stores. If you only speak English, the workers I have talked to in the deli and meat department are friendly and helpful. They don't seem to mind if you mispronounce something, which is grand! If you go early people may be putting out stock or the prepared meals will still be prepped. If you come after 11am, it's all good to go. read more

Very busy but well stocked. The workers were constantly on the go so asking for anything was difficult. Because they were trying to keep the shelves full there boxes of merchandise blocking the aisles which made traffic tight. The produce looked very fresh and the prices were incredibly low. NEGATIVE STARS. NEVER shop at this market! They provide the most disrespectful and horrible customer service without any care for their customers. Only shop here if you want to be treated like garbage! One example of many: One day I tried ordering meat. Then what appeared to be a lady counter manager confirmed I could buy a 1/2lb, but didn't finish my order and rudely moved on to the next customer apparently because taking longer than 30 seconds to place an order annoys them. In the middle of placing my order she rudely walks away & directs another associate to apparently finish my order. The new lady stands in front of me, without a word, assuming I am aware of their swap- stands in front of me, without asking how she could help, rudely told me, "We can't sell you no 1/2lb. What else you want." I asked her why when the first lady said they could, and she rudely replied, "What are you calling me a liar?!" I walked away and as I proceeded to shop I watched them continue to rudely talk to and mistreat almost everyone else asking for assistance. Never have I been so disrespected or humiliated. I would rather give more stars. However, today I went into buy fish, and I said hello and told the man what I wanted. He got it without a single word. I them thanked him after he handed me the fish like it was a lot of work for him. I said thank you and he did not say a word back. If he doesn't know how to speak English then they should have somebody that does but even body language is important when you're dealing with customers as my saying goes, it can take months to find customers and seconds to lose them I will not buy from that place again. read more

This market has a lot of variety for traditional middle eastern/african recipes. There's a huge selection of different meats, seafood, tons of tasty spices, legumes, fresh fruit & vegetables and cooked food as well. This store is huge compared to the smaller local markets but I would definitely recommend. They have 2 other locations as well, but I have not visited the other locations as of yet. read more
