The food was fresh and all made from scratch, we also enjoyed a cappuccino, which was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The booth was so cozy, the chairs are comfortable and very pretty. The waitstaff truly stood out--friendly, welcoming, attentive, and outstanding all around. I have mixed feelings about Teuta. My girlfriends and I went out for brunch and were sat immediately. I ordered and thought nothing of it. Come to find out that the smoked salmon wrap ($17) that I got was tiny. I even asked the server beforehand whether it would be enough food since no sides came with it. I was really disappointed, and the wrap was just alright. The space, though cute and well lit, was also REALLY loud. It doesn't seem like the space is well soundproofed and we couldn't hear each other very well. That being said all the other girls enjoyed their meals and we had a good time overall. Can't fault this place for much. There was decent seating available at noon on a Thursday, but I had made a reservation. The breakfast and lunch menus were both available at that time. I wish they had a matcha or chai tea option, and some N/A cocktails or some more crunchy drink options, so I just had water. My BLT was good, nothing to write home about but the ciabatta was a nice texture and soaked up the aioli nicely. The fries were QUITE GOOD. They should offer an aioli or type of dip with them. My friend enjoyed her beet salad. It was quite large and looked very fresh. I'm not sure why our server seemed so keen to turn over our table since the place has emptied out. Maybe her shift was over? It was quite odd though because she came over several times to see if we needed anything (we were fine, chatting) then immediately whipped out the credit card machine so I could pay. We had heard about this new Birmingham spot recently, so when we were in the area at lunch time on a weekday afternoon, it seemed like the perfect time to give it a try. It has an airy, spacious dining area, with fun booths around the edges, including the cozy nook in the front window where we sat. The menu has a wide range of choices available that fall into well defined breakfast and lunch categories. My wife tried the peaches & cream crepes, which she enjoyed. I went for the Turkey Waldorf wrap, which was fresh and tasty. I had a choice of salad or fries with my wrap. I asked if I could substitute a Ceasar for the house salad that sounded kind of bland from the server's description, but apparently that wasn't possible which always perplexes me since there is a Caesar on the menu. I opted for the fries instead, which were quite good, but there were far too many. Ordered the brisket burger and fries for lunch as it's Birmingham burger month event and this is one of the restaurants participating. The burger was underwhelming. Little seasoning on the meat itself resulted in a very beefy patty that just didn't do much for me. The bbq sauce was a bit too much and the cheddar cheese was lost as a result. The brisket was not good. I was not expecting Texas level brisket but if you're going to put brisket on your menu, it should be above average. This was not. Credit where's credit due. The egg was cooked perfectly and the burger stayed in tact despite the amount of sauce. Would not recommend the burger. The fries on the other hand were some of the best I've had. They were the coated style and were cooked to perfection. A generous portion size on them as well. I'm a little surprised that this was the burger they used for the burger battle as it simply wasn't that good. Come for the fries. Tried this spot located in downtown Bham and was quite pleased. If you are into aesthetics with minimalistic angles, art and contemporary designs then this place will be right up your alley. The host stand is front and center with a friendly face to greet you. That spirit is carried on with the servers who are pleasant and attentive and obviously don't mind helping each other out. The food is tasty with portions that are just enough to satisfy but not enough to pack away leftovers for home. I tried the smoked brisket skillet and it was delicious. I sampled the beef bacon out of curiosity and it was good too. There is no alcohol so no mimosas but there are specialty coffee drinks, refreshers and santal juices imported from Italy. Our server was nice and personable The menu, in addition to a wide variety of breakfast options, also includes lunch dishes, coffees and teas. A few dishes reflect the Albanian heritage of the proprietor. One example (though you won't find it spelled out on the menu): Albanian sausage, or sudzuka. I ordered the meat lover's omelette and honestly it's not much different than what you'd get at a Denny's. We asked to sit in the open booth next to window and were told it would affect their waitresses' rotation or something weird. 30 seconds after we sat down elsewhere, a couple was seated at the booth we wanted. BUT....1 hour and 13 min after we had sat down for our reservation...they told us we needed to finish up because the next reservation had been waiting 13 minutes!
