Deb does an awesome job of talking about what has changed in the medical field, new best practices, and also facilitates great group discussion. There's no such thing as a silly question in her class. :-) She takes time out to do a tour of St Peter's Hospital and the hospital in olympia. The tour is great because you get to see the birthing centers and/or the rooms that you'll be in. You also get to meet and greet with some of the medical staff that work there. One of the things that stood out for us was that we also got to handle some of medical equipment that will be used during your birth or C-section. While we were looking at all the different types of equipment she was explaining what they're used for in general, the risk to Mom and or baby, and also what the hospital may do in the event of emergency. The videos that she showed during the course we're also very informative and up-to-date.. not like the outdated ones there's a lot of other places show. We found the resources that she gives to be super helpful as well. I actually ended up reaching out to her after the class to find out where I could find additional pumping equipment at the hospital didn't have. She replied within of short period of time and referred me to a store that had exactly what I was looking for. She was a lifesaver. One of the things that my husband said he greatly appreciated was that she also goes over the coaches roles and responsibilities during the birth, gives tips and suggestions for them, but also takes time to recognize what they're going through to. So often it's all about the mom that we tend to forget the coaches are also going through the birthing experience as well. If w could give more than five stars we totally would!!!

Deb is great! The class was very informative and interesting. She provides lots of materials and…read morevideos.

Andy and Terri were always available to ease my mind and problem solve any worries or concerns we might've had both before and after my baby was born. To have such gentle, confident guidance made an already monumental moment that much more special, and a tremendous transition that much less daunting. Their holistic approach during my pregnancy made me feel so comfortable. I felt so prepared for my home birth & so comfortable having them in my home to support my family. Even though I ended up having to transfer to a hospital setting after 48+ hours of trying at home, the team made sure I was in the right hands & were constantly checking in with us. In postpartum, I felt so cared for when they only not checked up on our baby, but also checked in so much with my healing & mental health. Terri especially made my husband & I feel so comfortable throughout the entire experience since she could relate to our Asian identities. We really appreciated that. I cannot recommend them enough & know I will be in the right hands for my next pregnancy!

We had an incredible experience with Wellspring Midwifery. I had recently had a missed miscarriage…read morewhen I came into their care with my second pregnancy. The midwifery clinic I was previously with for the first pregnancy , told me I could no longer work with them and did not give a reason. Valley medical midwives said they would not work with me because I am overweight and of advanced maternal age. The other midwives clinics in the area said they were full for my due date. Swedish midwives did not take my insurance. When I went to the obgyn, she made me feel like I was wasting her time and I felt rushed during a very tender time. I felt discouraged and decided to widen how far I was willing to travel for care. I reached out to Wellspring Midwifery, and they promptly set up a zoom call where I asked tons of questions, we discussed our experience and they shared info about their practice. I felt so relieved to find them during such a hard time, filled with fear and anxiety. Our first appointment was over an hour and Lizz made me feel so comfortable and heard. It was amazing, they even did Saturday appointments so we didn't have to miss work and the traffic was much better. I met Elliot a few appointments later and she was equally awesome to Lizz! Throughout the process, I had monthly appointments and additionally was able to call for questions or write them in the online portal and they would promptly respond. Later in my pregnancy, we made the informed decision that we would prefer to transfer my care to a hospital so that I could access an epidural during labor and knowing which hospital we were going to. Lizz and Elliot were supportive of this decision and helped with the transition of paperwork. They allowed me to stay on for postpartum care. I even called them during my labor when I was trying to make a decision. It was awesome to have the support of their postpartum care because my obgyn only scheduled me for 1 appointment at 8 weeks postpartum. Lizz and La-Kiesha (their midwifery student who joined many of my appointments) came into my home 2 days after my baby was born and did a visit where we talked about the baby, my husband and myself and did some checks on the baby and me. They also gave me breastfeeding support. I had multiple follow ups in office during the first 6 weeks postpartum. It was so helpful to get regular support throughout that period of time. I am forever grateful for my experience with Wellspring Midwifery and I highly recommend them for your prenatal and postpartum care.

You're not just "another patient" - this is a safe space to build a relationship with people that will be present for one of the most vulnerable and sacred experiences of your life. I really admire them and the crucial work they do to help empower women with knowledge and confidence in their ability to birth. I worked closely with one of the student midwives, and she was wonderful too. No doubt you will be in good hands in their care. Can't recommend Wellspring Midwifery highly enough!!

Emily is awesome and super helpful. We had a 2 hour appointment where she addressed my concerns, did a weighted feed with my baby, assessed for ties and assessed his latch. They also sell tons of breastfeeding stuff that can usually only be found online, such as Legendairy Milk supplements and Pumpin Pal flanges. I was also able to rent a Medela scale that's very accurate for a reasonable price, and I know they also rent out pumps. The only downside is they don't accept insurance for lactation consultations but I don't regret paying out of pocket.

After delivery I was having extreme pain and long feeds, and I was able to have an AT HOME visit, which was amazing itself. Since the procedures, my newborn has been feeding great and gaining weight, and the several follow up appointments have been just as good, Emily provided techniques on different positions, how to adjust the latch, and queues for when baby is done eating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fern Lactation! They are just great people and glad they were apart of my postpartum experience! Furthermore, the scheduling process was great! They were able to text to help set up appointments and made it so streamlined and less stressful! THANK YOU!
