I had the Côtes Levées or 1/2 rack of BBQ rib platter and frites that were tasty but small and kind of pricey. Also for an appetizer I ordered the lobster bisque that was good but have had better. Also, didn't realize until I sat down and was ready to order that they don't serve adult beverages just near-beer and mocktails so that was kind of a shock for a high end steakhouse. Atmosphere was nice, service very good, and perhaps even a romantic place for a dinner date. Also it appears a person can BYOB but oh well and went ahead and had dinner sans alcohol.

They do not serve alcohol, though have an extensive mocktail board, but allow you to bring your own drinks. Our server did not speak English, nor did the menu have an English option, but it wasn't difficult at all to figure out what the options were or to ask help from my colleagues. Our server was even incredibly patient when I ordered on my own, in my very poor French. Outside of general experience, the food was fantastic! We had three starters, including some fall apart ribs that I dream about now. I ultimately ordered steak and frites, which was cooked to perfection. To top it off, the most perfect cracking crème brûlée. I understand why this place is popular, I definitely will be back when in town.

Luckily for us, they manage to find a four-seated table. The good: Service was number one. Waitress did not speak English and she really felt bad about it. She also felt bad that our orders were taking time to arrive (trust me, they were not. The delay was a normal one). Everyone was very satisfied with their meals (mac and cheese, shrimps brochette, meatball plate, pork chop). My father in-law said this is " the best pork chop he ever had " (and he had quite a few). Decor is magnificent. The bad: They were out of Rickard's Red beer. During the night, l experienced very tough stomach and intestinal pain (which might confirms that my meatballs were indeed not that fresh, made a day or two in advance?) but l was not sick, just awake for the night. Mac and cheese reheated was not good. We tried to make a reservation for a few days later but once again, it was full. This place is EXTREMELY popular. There is a good chance that you might not eat there if you just show up. This was our favourite restaurant throughout our trip. Worth the stop. You just have to plan it and reserve.

Smoked meat of course is the specialty of the house and I would recommend it. The lunch portion is a reasonable portion of (slightly spongy) rye bread with yellow mustard and fries. It's a good amount. For dessert, I really recommend what they call "unemployed man's pudding" (in French Pudding Chomeur) which is actually just a maple syrup cake. A small portion of this sweet stuff is all you need to finish off your meal. They do have tons of other things for lunch - the smoked salmon salad looked good, as did the rotisserie chicken. It's all Pepsi here. No Coke.

First of all, I came here with my grand kiddies after visiting the tinkity town after our quail watching tour. I'll be honest, there weren't that many other restaurants with menus that were really fancy or had more than like 4 choices. We decided on this because it was a large menu and looked nice. (It's not nice). The patio was nice enough looking into the town and out to the water... we came for dinner, decided to get only appetizers because the place looked like crap but we couldn't leave and then finally settled on dinner after we couldn't find much else with our panic searches. Menus were only in French, which is a serious problem if you don't speak French or have wifi to translate (and let's be clear, every single other restaurant we've been to in French Canada has given us an English menu.) The calamari was actually pretty good but very basic and other appetizers were mediocre at best. Food was all bar food and has some weird stuff (like no beef nachos, no regular burgers etc). We all got fish in chips, not horrible. The poutine was alright. Shrimp roll was gross. Our waitress even seemed to acknowledging that the food wasn't that great. Bar food at best, reheated Cisco at worst. And actually I've had better bar food. Don't come here, rough it out somewhere else or cook at home. Update: everyone's stomach was upset after we came here.
