I'll be going to get some more next time I'm up that way, just because they're so different and you can't get them in many places (I haven't seen them anywhere else). The staff that were there only spoke French, but that's normal for Quebec City (and pretty much guaranteed outside of the old town area). It's really not a big deal, as it only takes a few words and gestures to get as many canele as you can carry.
