Their standard barista blend is very well balanced as either a cappuccino, an espresso, or a cortado. Their decaf blend was equally good. I loved the available spinach turnover, the maple turnover, the regular croissant, and the pistachio croissant. It was an absolute pleasure to start our mornings here between 6:30-7:00 AM and just decompress before launching into the day's activities. We will happily return on our next trip! I was so thirsty after a hot day of exploring and this cafe offered a handful of non-coffee, non-matcha alternatives. I normally don't love ordering iced teas at cafes because I feel like they're overpriced for a simple black to but I was excited to see this cafe offered a unique a ginger apple(?) iced tea which was not too sweet and hit the spot to refresh my hydration levels. We loved this place. The coffee and pastries were excellent. The atmosphere is very cozy, especially on a rainy day. We got there at 6:30am and loved everything about this place. Oh my, once I found this beautiful coffee shop I was in my element. The coffee is simply outstanding and it's the main focus of this café. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable about each of the different coffees on offer. It's very very small, but there are tables where you can sit, however they also have a beautiful area outside the café where you can watch the world go by. Top notch cappuccino- no need for an extra shot! Made exactly how it should be with the right balance of coffee and milk. London fog was also delicious, recommend it over their chai, which is good, but London Fog is special. Love seeing the beans roasted right there in front of you and so many great beans to choose from to take home. Enjoyed both visits sitting outside on the sidewalk. Nice, friendly service who demonstrated patience with our limited French, not forcing us into English unless we got stuck. We visited this cafe in July 2024 and again in July 2025. My spouse and I had a great experience both times! I had a maple pecan scone and a matcha latte on this visit, while my spouse just had a croissant. It was all yummy! My matcha latte was perfect -- not too sweet, and not gritty at all. Just a perfectly made, smooth hot drink. On both occasions, the employees have been encouraging and enthusiastic about my use of French while ordering! I have limited French but always try to use it when I can, and they are so kind and friendly. Makes the whole thing a great experience! This place can be busy, but you won't wait long. The absolute best almond croissant of my life. After living and in eating pastries across Europe, Canada and the USA, I found the flakiest of treats at this charming coffee shop. The spiced latte was also delicious, but not overbearing as some can be. The shop wall was lined with Italian cookies, cakes, and treats to go. I asked my Yelp App where to go for Coffee and it asked me to come here. A little dark inside and tables were closely placed to each other. Seriously, I did not expect much from Les Cafes du Soleil. I was more interested in all these espresso equipment and accessories more than coffee... But I really enjoyed my Macchiato even without any fancy latte art as the shot was pulled properly and the milk foamed perfectly. Service was friendly. This place has a variety of good sandwiches on a variety of artisan breads. The sandwiches are pre-made but must be daily as they were fresh as if they were just made. A bag of chips and a pellegrino and we had a great, fast, affordable meal that we enjoyed enough to go back the next day. There aren't many proper coffee shops in Old Quebec. Sure, there are plenty of restaurants that serve good coffee, but if just want a coffee to go (or to enjoy outside on the sidewalk), Cafés du Soleil is your place. Located in the lower part of Old Quebec not too far from the farmer's market, these guys make great drip coffee and great espresso. If you want a snack they also have simple pastries and sandwiches. If you're a fan of coffee and are spending any time in Old Quebec, you shouldn't miss stopping here. read more

I used to LOVE this place back when I worked in the area. I kept telling anyone who would listen that they served one of the best lattés in town. I would go in and treat myself to a latté and biscotti. Oh, and from what I remember, the almond croissant is tasty! I'm not sure what happened, but I went back today (hadn't been in around a year) and the experience just fell short. My (decaf) latté was alright, but nothing to write home about. Too watery. Perhaps it was just an off day, but I would definitely not go out of my way to come here (sadly). I definitely would (and do, often!) for a cup of joe at le Nektar... so make what you will out of that information ;) However, I will say, this is still your best option for coffee in the area. So if you're staying in one of the nearby hotels or visiting the antique stores on St Paul, it's still worth a visit! read more
