I've been here in person a lot and have enjoyed it. I like how they give you the option to have your wing order with only flats or drums. Game changer imo. I got delivery and they are a little far (about 24 min drive). So I worried a little about how the food would would taste due to the potential to get cold. But, I remembered that I order deli from about the same distance and even the fries are good from that distance so I hoped I'd be ok. Keep in mind the following is a review of the restaurant as being able to provide decent delivery (for the most part). It's also been a couple years since I dined in. I can say the fries were warm enough to get the gist of what they would've been like fresh and they probably would've been decent. But, I had to throw most of them out because they quickly cooled to the point where they weren't edible. The Jalapeño poppers were decent but also too cold to be really outstanding. They also seemed like fresh they would've been tasty. The wings were also decent but by the time I got to them they were pretty cold. However, you could tell they were quality and probably would've been good hot and fresh. You could blame the delivery guys. But, in my honest opinion, the heat of the food could've been a lot better if they packed the food better. The containers they use are just cardboard with a lot of free openings and space for the heat to escape. The deli I mentioned packs the food much better. They need to improve their ability to get the food to the customers hot, fried food demands it. Or if they can't they need to really restrict the areas they offer delivery to. Not really happy with the meal. Took a risk and it panned out negatively. Also, they forgot the wing dipping sauce and napkins. A good amount of napkins is kind of a must. It's not cheap as it came close to $55. So that also factored into the lower score. read more

Glad to have tried this restaurant! I enjoyed the Cajun dry rub with the bistro sauce. The wings are not heavily breaded and is smaller in size. 100 wings for $100 can feed a family of 6/7. The other flavours were good as well! The honey bbq and bbq was not too saucy or sweet either. This restaurant may get a lot of orders during UFC nights, so call ahead. Sadly, although the wings are as good as ever, the new location has no atmosphere, decorating out of the 70's that has no bearing on this being a neighbourhood pub. It's just horrible. This place is still good, the chicken wings are still scrumptious and the fries with the creamy fill dip are delicious! The onion rings were a little disappointing, but mostly because they didn't taste like fresh onion rings, more panko-esk with really thick outside (which I did not love). Service was average at best, our waitress was not particularly attentive (which was surprising considering we were eating a geriatric dinner and the place was empty). Have enjoyed Bistro wings for about 15 years, mainly take out. New location fine but last 2 times I have eaten wings and have been disappointed. Wings are a little too well done and my absolute favourite honey garlic sauce recipe has changed. I always order an extra sauce to dip my wings and fries in. It used to be mouth watering and delicious. I would eat it all. Now it a thick dark sauce, no longer Bistro recipe. May go to a St Louis location next to see if they too changed the sauce. I've only ever eaten wings here so I can't comment on any other menu items. But I can say with certainty that they are my favourite wings anywhere. I order medium and they come crispy and delicious. I suppose there are other sauces that are good, or more or less heat, but once I found what works for me I'll stick with it. As with everything else these days prices have continued to increase but it's still well worth the cost. Service is good and new location is roomier and more comfortable than the place farther south. read more

For those coming from St. Louis restaurants - the wings are identical in taste but bigger rather than the pigeon-sized wings you get at St. Louis, and you get plenty more fries and better specials. The chicken wings are awesome! The best, in my opinion. The dry hot with the regular hot sauce on the side is mouth watering! Delicious fries and the dill dip is super yummy! I also love how you can ask for no fries and you get extra wings! The atmosphere of this new location is a bit heart breaking, doesn't have the character of a little local pub like the old location did. The servers I have had are always nice and friendly too. Bistro has been cooking up the best wings in Toronto for a long time now. Crowned as the "original" St. Louis Bar & Grill, Bistro takes its wings seriously. The "hot" and "suicide" sauces are mouth watering. Tuesdays have become a weekly gathering for a group of us, as the restaurant offers half-price wings every week (along with most other wing places on this same day). The food is served similar style with dill sauce and wings that are nice and crisp. The feel is more pub/ bar feeling than a restaurant or bistro. The crowd is blue collar but it has a homely intimate feel with tons of regulars. The walls are covered in memorabilia and there are tvs up on the walls for watching sports so lots to see/read while you're there. The wings are some of the best in the city in my opinion. Some of the staff are a little quirky, had a waitress that called my fiancé and I by just boy and girl the whole service. 3.5/5 Go try the wings, great for a sporting event. The Bistro on Avenue used to be a few blocks south of where they are now. It was an intimate little place - a pub like atmosphere with probably the best wings in GTA at the time... Now, it has gone a bit high end, much brighter and obviously a newer decor. It lacks the "atmosphere" that used to exist at the old place. Small TV's to watch sports, not very strategically placed. On to the Service (I'll mention the food last). Service was decent. Sitting in the bar area, the bartender was the server. She was quite busy, but still managed to pay attention to everyone around her. I would give her a 4 out of 5. Food...biggest disappointment. Perhaps I have HUGE expectations having been a former regular customer of the old location in the 80's... Ordered standard Honey Garlic wings. Fries used to have more flavor - they tasted so plain now. Even the Dill Dip - which was one of the main reasons anyone would order fries there - seemed somewhat tasteless compared to how it used to be and compared to the same dip found at St. Louis which the owner founded. Onto the wings...the first order of wings came out tasting burnt and didn't have any sauce on them. After telling the bartender, they were replaced - honestly, they looked like someone just poured sauce over them - still tasted burnt, they weren't as meaty as they used to be at the old place and the sauce??? really didn't taste much like honey garlic. Did I eat them? sure. I kept hoping they would get better with each one - but they didn't. The only plus was the Pint was the right temp and drowned out the burnt taste. Would I go back? Of course - I would never right off a place with such history and reputation simply because of ONE bad experience. But, I would go with friends to confirm that my thoughts are feelings were either confirmed or refuted. While the wings were fine, TERRIBLE SERVICE. I'm eating there at 2:30pm on a Saturday. It's basically empty, maybe 3 other tables have customers at them. I look at the menu knowing that we made it just in time to order the lunch menu ($6 cheaper to get the exact same thing during lunch hours which ends at 3pm). I order from the wings menu and ask if I can have some of my wings spicy and some of them honey garlic. The waitress seems unsure, but says that she'll see what she can do. Next thing I know she brings out my wings and as I'm eating them.. I realize they're just ALL honey garlic. She never communicated or told me I had to choose one, and clearly just made the decision for me (I would have 100% asked for spicy ones if thats all I was going to get). So I was unhappy with my meal, but NO point did she come back to our table to check on us or see how things are, or to fill up our water (need I remind you that this place is near empty??), but I eat them because it's what's in front of me and I'm hungry. She only comes back once we're done to clear our plates, and when I remind her that I had asked for half and half she said "oh yeah they couldn't do that", and I had to explain to her that it would've been nice if she just told me that because I didn't want a WHOLE meal of honey garlic, which she half-heartedly apologized for... THEN we get the bill and to our surprise, instead of being $9.95 for each of our lunch meals, she charged us $15.95 for the dinner option. When we asked about the menu explicitly saying that lunch is from 11am-3pm, she said "oh.. yeah its different on weekends"...I Looked and Looked on the menu and NOWHERE DID IT SAY THIS. I do not appreciate getting ripped off, and if you're going to have special pricing rules that apply to special days THEN PUT IT ON THE DAMN MENU even in fine print or SOMETHING. But it was nowhere and for all I know she could've made up this new rule on the spot. So for a party of 3 who all ordered the same thing, we basically got surprise-charged $20 more than what we were expecting to have to pay, which does not seem OK. Although the wings were fine, this frustrating experience really left a bad taste in my mouth... Which is a shame because I really used to like coming to the Bistro (when it was at the old location). This was a first for me at the new location, but I will definitely not be coming back anytime soon.. read more

Walked in asked for a high chair was told theres "no high chairs or coloring books" Food was good but took almost an hour to arrive. We have been going to the original location for 22 years and loved the cozy feel. The new location doesn't have the same vibe.
