After much consideration, I've decided to share my experience with hopes it will help someone who may be considering using Dr. Bitar for any type of plastic surgery. I went to him specifically for fat transfer over a year ago and it was done under local anesthesia. Immediately after my surgery was performed, he brought a mirror to show me my results and the areas he injected fat in. My left under eye was full, however my right under eye was half as full and dipped in. I explained to him that it was uneven and that there wasn't enough fat injected on the right side. My face was visibly uneven. His response was that I just got out of surgery and needed to give it time to settle. I was confused by that response considering I had fat injected and fat doesn't just appear over time. If fat is injected, you see the fullness immediately. I let it be for the time being but I was definitely questioning the response I got. The very next day, I went in for IV treatment and I met with Trish. I still had the same concern because looking at my results the next morning, the obvious dip was very present and noticeable. I pointed it out to Trish and she also agreed there was dip and she'd discuss the issue with Dr. Bitar. I never saw Dr. Bitar that day. I never received an update or follow up of any kind. Not a follow up to my concerns, not a follow up of how I was doing or a call to schedule me for my post op. I waited a few months and finally ended up calling myself to schedule an appointment because not only was my dip still present but I also had a knot on my temple where I also had fat injected. It was definitely more noticeable once all the swelling went down. At this appointment, I actually met with Dr. Bitar. My issue was more the fact that he dismissed my concerns. He downplayed my dissatisfaction with my results and came up with every excuse as to why I was having these issues. He would talk over me and speak as if my concerns weren't valid. He also spoke of himself as if he couldn't possibly have made a mistake because he's the best surgeon in Virginia and he's performed thousands of these surgeries with minimal error. I attempted to voice my concerns saying I know I need more fat injected on the right side because it's visibly noticeable by not only myself but other people as well. Dr. Bitar assured me to give it time and wait 6 months as it should look better. I left that appointment feeling unheard as if my concerns didn't matter. Once I left that appointment, I never heard from that office again. Not a single call, email, or follow up. Mind you, it's been 14 months roughly since my surgery with Dr. Bitar. I've consulted with other board certified plastic surgeons recently and was turned down as none of them wanted take on the revision. The very last surgeon I consulted with was honest and truthful and explained that he can't correct it and advised that there's no one in this general area that has the expertise for revision fat grafting. He said the fat needs to be removed completely, and fat grafting needs to be placed properly and evenly and that just wasn't something he felt he was specialized in doing. He referred me to a surgeon in California and said I should only consider going to that surgeon. He said with what needs to be done to correct my previous surgery , it will take a certain level of expertise. I will soon consult with that surgeon in California, however, based on his online pricing, I'm looking at between 24-32k to correct this. Considering I already paid Dr. Bitar, this is very discouraging. For anyone considering surgery with Dr. Bitar, I'd do thorough research before doing so. Don't base it on the reviews alone because the office does push you to put a good review up and they request it immediately after surgery. I know this because it was asked of me. Lastly, I'll touch up on Dr. Bitar's character if you decide to consult with him. He talks a big game and tries to lure you in with talk about his successes. He speaks of himself as being "the best" and is extremely cocky and arrogant. Now, I have no issues of someone sharing their surgical experience or success in the community. My issue is how he acts as if he's better than anyone else as that's clearly not the case. He doesn't take constructive criticism well and when you go to him with a concern or issue, he becomes defensive and dismissive. For anyone who wants before and after photos, I'll be happy to send directly to you. I have serious concerns about my experience and the lack of follow-up after I reported my issues. I plan to submit a complaint to the Virginia Board of Medicine so that my concerns can be reviewed. read more

Absolutely amazing experience and results. I went to Dr. Bitar after hearing great things about him and his staff and I was truly blown away. First, Dr. Bitar was present in the consultation. He answered all of my questions and provided me with options he felt would satisfy my needs. After he left, I was presented with very transparent pricing and structure that made me very comfortable. Scheduling the procedure was easy. When I came in for my procedure, it felt as if the entire staff was focused primarily on me, even though there were other patients getting surgery that day. Everyone from the front desk staff to the surgical team (Trish, Amanda, Marwa, Terry) were incredibly kind and competent. Even the anesthesiologist was great. My procedure took 2 hours. Afterwards, much like my procedure, it felt as if everyone's main goal was taking care of me. Very depressed with my breast Aug results. I hate looking in the mirror. I can't lay down on my side. I don't fit into a bra because I'm uneven. I can't workout because my boob is in the way. I was charged 10.6k I paid in full and was then told we'd discuss " cost" to fix what he did to me at the year mark as if he didn't just take 10.6k to botch me. . I cannot wait a year I'm miserable and doctor Bitar does not give a damn. Save your time and money and body. I originally gave Dr Bitar a five star review, but that was shortly after my first surgery and after he requested multiple times for me to give him reviews. I feel obligated to warn others about my experience with Dr. George Bitar. What started as a typical cosmetic improvements turned into years of physical and emotional damage. I went to him for a rhinoplasty to reduce the size of my nose. After surgery, my nose became unstable -- the nostrils collapsed when I tried to breathe or lay on my side. He did a revision using cartilage from my ear, but my nose was still floppy, and my breathing got worse. I could literally touch the tip of my nose to each cheek! At each follow up appointment, Dr Bitar would change his story on how he would correct it. That was scary, and I clearly could not trust him to do a third revision. Later, another surgeon discovered that my septum had actually been removed, not repaired. I eventually needed a full reconstructive surgery using rib cartilage just to restore basic structure and airflow. That surgery was even covered by my health insurance. Five years of surgeries, and I'm still recovering from number three. My nose will never look the same again!! I also had a chin implant done by Dr Bitar no. It was far too large -- even people close to me said it looked unnatural -- and it wasn't properly secured, so it moved painfully when I slept. When I complained, Dr Bitar kept changing his story, even claiming it was "supposed" to move. I eventually had it replaced by another surgeon, and the new one is secure and looks normal. In my opinion, this Dr. Bitar is careless, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility when things go wrong. Please get multiple consultations and do your research before trusting him with your face. read more

I went to Dr. Bitar for a tummy tuck. With my youngest child turning 15 I realized that my diet and exercise efforts over more than a decade would never result in getting rid of my hanging "apron" belly, and I wanted to feel more confident and have clothes fit better. I asked my outstanding primary care doctor, "if your wife was looking into abdominoplasty, who would you send her to?" He said, "George Bitar, and I have." The Bitar Institute was not the least expensive option I found, however I really believe that for something that is a once-in-a-lifetime decision with my health and appearance on the line, I didn't want to choose based on the lowest bidder. That said, I still feel like I got a bargain. All the follow-up care is included in the cost, including when I wanted to be seen just to check in on healing between the routine follow up appointments. The staff is incredible. Trish, the RNFA for the practice, was wonderful with preparing me thoroughly for what to expect and guiding me through my recovery. She also really listens to your concerns and sees you as a person dealing with a medical AND emotional process. The surgical nursing staff in the procedure and assisting me with anesthesia recovery were fantastic. Post-surgical nausea (a concern of mine) was addressed prophylactically as well as in immediate recovery. Pain management was also well addressed. While I was concerned about pain in recovery, I am also quite wary of instances of medical practices over-prescribing addicting pain medication. The regimen I was sent home with was designed to be sufficient to ensure I was not in extreme discomfort, without being a "killing a fly with a shotgun" effect. I also was able take less pain medication when I felt I was ready, even if before the completion of the full prescription course. This was reassuring to me. Would I do this again with Dr. Bitar? Absolutely. If I decide for future procedures I will be quick to go back without question. I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Bitar and his practice is well-known not just in the Northern Virginia area, but across the country, and possibly even worldwide. For my first ever venture into dermal fillers and injectables, I knew just the place I'd head for a consult. While his availability did not line up with mine, I was able to schedule with his in-house PA Danielle. Scheduling was done over the phone, with new patient paperwork emailed your way, and a $100 deposit that is applied to your visit (should you choose to get something done in the consult). I was pretty nervous... I know some people do a ton of research, and some do none at all, and I found myself somewhere in between. During the consult, I was able to hold a mirror while conversing with Danielle over what I wanted to achieve, areas of concern, and what was possible with my face anatomy. After the discussion, I was given upfront pricing, an aspect of the visit I really loved. With pricing in hand, I choose to move forward with two quick procedures and was in-and-out in about an hour's time. Healing took around 2-3 weeks as projected. I love my end result, which left me looking pretty natural due to the conservative route we took. After this first go-round, I'm looking forward to getting a little more for that extra 'oomph'. Omg first off Dr. Bitar is pure magic. I knew from my consult and I went to several that he was the one! He is sooooo knowledgeable, thoughtful and professional. I told him what I desired and he guided and consulted me on what was best. We decided he'd do a BL, TT, MR and lipo. I was scared after having 3 kids naturally to do this but he made me confident as well as his amazing staff. Dr. Bitar's reception staff is rude, unhelpful, pushy, and arrogant. Not the environment conducive for medical procedures or helpful to healing. I first saw Dr. Bitar in 2011 for an augmentation. It was uneventful and I was happy with my results. I've recommend him to several close friends and one did use him for her services. Fast forward to February 2024, I was called out of the blue from his offering a free consultation. I scheduled an appointment approximately a month later. I confirmed the appointment, however an emergency arose at my office. I called to reschedule 3+ hours to reschedule. The receptionist was pushy and demanded my credit card before allowing me to reschedule. As a busy professional I acquiesced as I understood time is money. I set the new appointment for 6 weeks later and took the day off. The day of the new appointment I drove the 34 miles from my home to his office and was not only on time but early and again Dr Bitars receptionist was pushy and demanding for my credit card and drivers license and would not hand me the intake paperwork until I handed over my identification rudely and loud enough that other parents in the waiting room could hear. She also informed me that my appointment was for a long term follow up. I told her I was confused because that not what I scheduled. She rolled her eyes dismissively and said you are here for a follow up. I told her that that is unsettling as we are not on the same page. I told her that the miss communication made me feel uncomfortable and did not inspire confidence that my needs would be addressed. At no time did she attempt to easy my apprehension acknowledge my concerns nor attempt to put me at ease. She only dismissively demanded the paperwork as it was protocol and that what I agreed to. I did not. While I was filling out my intake forms the receptionist the, who I assume is the office manager approached the receptionist and they began talking about me instead of approaching me to see if she could clarify the situation. Again loud enough other waiting patients could hear the entire event. I went back to the front desk and addressed again that I felt uncomfortable and had concerns. The office manager asked the receptionist what the situation was and the receptionist responded that I was being rude. I told them that i didn't appreciate being gaslit and that was not what had happened. The office manager responded with well we can cancel your appointment. I said please do and left. As a professional my time is also valuable so I didn't appreciate wasting an entire day. I will not be recommending Dr Bitar to any more to friends. I would be highly disappointed if they received similar treatment. I will have Dr Chang of Landsdowne provide my next services. Dr Changs staff are friendly and accommodating. read more

Dr Bitar and staff are incredibly friendly. The center is clean and bright and very welcoming. I had an implant exchange at his surgical center one month ago. The procedure went well and I am recovering well. I went from 300cc saline to 485cc silicone. My complaint is that I do not see the difference I was hoping for/ expecting. When I got my first implants 13 years ago, the doctor at the time used technology that showed my EXACT breasts on the computer screen with varying degrees of implant sizes. I was incredibly happy with my results because I got the exact size that I saw on the screen in the pre-op appts. At Dr. Bitar's, you add saline/ silicone implants into your bra to attempt to figure out the correct new size. As you can imagine, this does not work well. With implants already in your body, adding the silicone implants in your bra does not yield the same result as surgery, nor can it replicate seeing your own breasts larger/ smaller on a computer screen. It is misleading and, quite frankly, completely unhelpful. I wish I had voiced my concerns at the time. When I landed on the (new) range of 450-510cc's, I naturally assumed that would yield a *much* larger breast appearance. In reality, it did not. My breasts look almost identical to how they looked pre-surgery. This is very disappointing... one, because of the amount of money I spent and two, because I was really excited about my new look. I would encourage you to look at his side-by-side photos of implant exchanges, to determine the size and look that you want. Do you see the results you are hoping for? I wish I had done that. I would never have had a breast augmentation to yield the same results. read more

Wake up cuz, it's show time : ). It's 11/10 the day of my consultation and procedure, and I was so nervous and excited I couldn't sleep. I arrived at Dr. Bitar's office a little early, and I was absolutely in awe. His Fairfax office is so modern and absolutely beautiful. His receptionist was so warm and welcoming. We were greeted warmly and offered a variety of beverages and snacks while waiting. This is it, the moment I've been waiting for! Dr. Bitar walks in to my room for my consultation. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and honest! I had a list of things I was interested in, and we went through them individually. The most impressive part about this is, a lot of Dr's would have done the things I mentioned, but he was honest enough to show and tell me why I didn't need those things. His honesty was refreshing, because a few Dr's have charged me good $ for those things that I didn't need before. At this point Dr. Bitar gained my cousin and I 's trust and confidence. So on to the lips... I told him my areas of concern and the look that I wanted. My biggest concern was I wanted to have natural looking lips, I'm not a fan of the overdone look. He talked me through his approach and I made my decision to do it! The results... Were amazing. It's amazing how something so small can change your life. The correction of my lips increased my confidence significantly and it improved my profile tremendously. I have been getting so many compliments from men and women on my new lips. People think I was born with them! Conclusion- I am exceptionally pleased with my results and my decision to go with Dr. Bitar. I am very experienced with cosmetic procedures. I have been getting cosmetic procedures since 2001, and Dr. Bitar has been my #1 experience. I always heard great things about Dr Bitar and it is all true. I had my surgery and was healing slowly but then developed an infection about three weeks later. I originally found the Bitar Institute 6+ years ago, when I was in search of the best certified BA surgeon in NOVA. My pre and post surgery experience went very smooth, and every staff member was comforting, informative and professional. Far from pushy or pressuring! Since my initial surgery I've explored more of their non surgical services, from emscuplt to injectables. I currently, regularly keep up with annual under-eye restylane injections (1 syringe) with Dr. Bitar to help with my deep (genetic) hollows. Pricing wise, it's pretty average if anything worth the small price difference from others because they go the extra mile to make your experience better. My experience with PA Danielle Augustino was amazing. I don't even know where to begin.. my lips have never looked better. I was more so concerned about gaps within the side of my lips than the volume and I wasn't even sure if it was possible to have them even and filled in but when I tell you my lips have never looked so good and symmetrical. I am and have been a patient of Dr. Bitar for years (and continue to be). Typically I see Dr. Bitar at the Fairfax office due to the convenience of the location, but have recently ventured out to Manassas for their off the charts, magic maker esthetician Crystal. The office first and foremost is extremely clean and the staff is very welcoming. I come in for a facial every so often because their technology is up to date if not ahead of the game. They are so clean, friendly and knowledgeable. Crystal is the one who i see for my facials and man has she changed my life. I suffer from severe hormonal acne and redness, so I came to Crystal after my own dermatologist was unable to solve any of my issues. She was upfront with me with what she wanted to do, and made sure I knew every step of the way and I was comfortable with what she was going to do. During the facials she is talking me through what she is doing it, why she is doing it, the benefits and the long term results that will come from consistent cleaning/exfoliating techniques. I have bought a few products from here (zero pushy sales, I just finally realized the work that is being done to my face isn't inexpensive and it is important to follow through with a good routine). I have seen so much improvement, i get constant follow up from the team to make sure I am doing okay and if i need anything. I went to Bitar MEDSPA for a consultation for my face and how I can look younger :) and WOW! I am blown away. The customer service was amazing. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. I was scheduled to see CRYSTAL. Upon first meeting her I was immediately put at ease. she was wonderful. We talked in great length and she listened to all my concerns and gave some recommendations. She was absolutely wonderful and I am so grateful that I was scheduled with her! I ended up getting a chemical peel and a moth or so later Ultherapy. I love the results of both! Good and attentive doctors but the wait times are absolutely awful. I'm writing this sitting in the patient room where I have been waiting for 40 minutes to be seen. This is unacceptable. Additionally, the front desk staff is inattentive when it comes to scheduling appointments. I emailed and called them unsuccessfully multiple times trying to set up an appointment before I was actually able to schedule one. read more
