Probably the worst barbecue we have had! It's a cool place in an old Caseys and when they first opened, it was pretty good. I had the two meat platter that consisted of two small strips of brisket that tasted like roast beef. No smoke flavor at all and about a half of a piece of sausage that tasted like it was boiled and then sliced. The burnt end beans had one tiny piece of burnt end. Kim had the same thing, but instead of beans had the smoked hashbrowns that tasted like mush and no seasoning. These platters are $19.99 each and I feel violated! There's not a lot of choices in Marysville Kansas, but this is definitely off my list! read more

The service is really good despite her being a one person show. I walked in several times and the just one person running everything. She does good, but I think she needs another person. It would make things flow better. The food is ok to me. I guess it is dang good for Marysville? There just are not many places to chose from here. The pulled pork is good, although the bun seems to much. The smoked Mac & cheese mixed with the beans is my favorite thing here. The coleslaw was good too. The absolute worst food we've ever had. We spent nearly $80 on meat and threw it all away. The sausage looked like gray colored ball park franks (we were too scared to even try them), the burnt ends were just chunks of dry roast, and the pulled pork had absolutely no flavor. Slathering it in bbq sauce didn't even help. The only thing we ended up eating was the baked beans, cause you can't go wrong with Bush's baked beans (pretty sure that's all they were). The cole slaw was good. This is bad bbq. I got the three meat sampler. I had ribs, burnt ends and brisket with cole slaw and smoked Mac and cheese. The brisket is precut in a steam table so it is gray. It is Cut with the grain of the meat so it is tough as shoe leather and has no flavor. Ribs are in the oven in a steam tray. She cut me one rib with a bone on each side and gave me the top boney cap of of the slab. Burnt ends are not burnt ends it is cut up roast or brisket flat with no caramelization or sauce. Absolutely disgusting, I've ate some bad food over time traveling but whewwwww this takes the icing on the cake. Brisket was cut so thin and literally tasted like fish, the sausage looked so gross we didn't even attempt to eat it, and there burnt ends are not burnt ends and the pulled pork was nasty. Traveled with a group in 2021 food was great. Traveled again in 2022 and I don't know if it has changed ownership or what. But the food especially the chicken has went to crap. I took one bite and I have never tasted anything so bad in my entire life. I do not care what that poor lady said it was not chicken. I would not feed it to any animals. Honestly some of the worst bbq we have ever had. No flavor. Brisket was dry more like roast and burnt ends are definitely not burnt ends but just chunks of the roast and over cooked. Stopped in on a Saturday while driving through. Staff was friendly and place looked like it was going to be awesome. I grabbed 1/3 rack of ribs and then 2 meat Plate to try a variety. On the 2 meat I got brisket and sausage . Meat tasted and appeared that it was from yesterday and reheated. Dry, tough and all dark grey. The only way it was edible was by dousing it in their BBQ sauce, which was actually pretty good. Ribs seemed fresher but were not fall off the bone and kind of just underwhelming. Just finished up working in Linn, KS and was heading back to St. Joseph when I saw this BBQ spot in Marysville. Wanting some good BBQ I pulled in and immediately was met with this wonderful smell of smoke and meat. Walked in and was very impressed by how clean the restaurant was and how friendly the staff was to a stranger. I ordered the burnt ends with bean and slaw for lunch and a drink. WOW!! Absolutely the best burnt ends I have had since moving the St Joseph 12 years ago. Tender, deep flavor and great bark on them. Large serving for lunch was a plus as well. The beans are right up there with the ends, hunks of brisket added to the great flavor. Not to sweet and again a really good serving size. I encourage anyone wanting really really good BBQ to try this spot, you will not be disappointed. I am getting a brisket sandwich to take home. read more

We passed this restaurant several times passing through town since it's open. Based on the reviews we thought we would give it a try today. There was one person working the entire restaurant taking orders, serving, and dishing up the food. She was very nice and taking it in stride. The restaurant was clean until we got to the bathroom which was filthy. Unfortunately, this appears to be a restaurant where you need to ask what's fresh for the day when you order. The beans were very good and the nachos were OK, not terrible but not out of this world. The cheesy potatoes were a brown/grey lump and the worst I have eaten. The meat, oh the meat. It looked and tasted like it been cooked several days ago and sitting on a warmer somewhere day after day praying for some poor sap to walk through the door and get saddled with it. The brisket was legit overcooked shoe leather. The burnt ends were rubber with no flavor. It's really a shame because the picture of the burnt ends on yelp looks delicious. Mine looked absolutely nothing like that. I would imagine when it was fresh it probably was good. I get it's tough to make it in a small town and hard to throw away left overs but, you can't keep reheating food day after day and expect to keep your customers . Even the Iced tea tasted like it was left over from yesterday and we were there less than an hour after they opened for the day. Why can't restaurant owners understand they can't treat customers like this and expect them to come back. Again, it's a real shame. Based on how good the beans were, this restaurant could be something. The beans are the only reason I gave them 2 stars rather than 1. The owners need to take heart and treat their customers better. I placed an order online, was advised to pick it up between 11:30-11:45. I got there at 11:50 and was told "sorry, we are working on it. The person that was supposed to open called in sick, so we are way behind." I waited another 15 minutes before my carry out order was ready. I only had a 30 minute lunch break, and by this time, I had already used 20 of it. The older gray haired fella asked if I had paid ahead, and I said yes, I ordered online, and paid online. He replies" I wish we would just do away with that thing. We just don't have the staff to keep up with the darn thing". As soon as I got back to Community Memorial Hospital there in Marysville, (as I was working at an outreach Cardiology clinic from Pioneer Heart Institute, Lincoln, I unpacked our food and opened my Pulled Pork Nachos. They were NOTHING like the description gave. The menu states " shredded cheese, pulled pork, lettuce, black olive, sour cream. My order had stale chips, drenched in Nacho Cheese, pork slopped on top with salsa dumped over it. I called Bite Me BBQ back, spoke with Haley who stated she was the one who prepared our order. I asked her about the Nacho plate and explained that it was totally wrong, and I wanted a refund. Haley said" well, I am new here and I didn't know they were supposed to come with all that stuff, but I will call the owner, or "my boss" and let him know the situation. I don't see a problem getting you a refund. Are you still in town? What time could you stop back by our store? I told her I would be glad too after the clinic, about 3 pm. Then, Haley called me back and said she spoke to the boss or the owner, and he said he will only give me a refund if I can bring the food back down there right fast, or I can bring it later at 3, but they will need it all back before they can make it right. Really? They just wasted 25 minutes of my 30 minute break, the clerk tells me she is new and isn't sure how to make it correctly, but they want me to bring the food back before they can refund my money? I took my nachos back to the store, and the old gray haired man was very, very rude. Said, "Normally I would refund the money back on your card, but I have no idea how to do that, so you are getting cash. 8 bucks, there ya go, you satisfied? I asked him about any coins, I did pay tax on the nachos, and the clerk said "NO, 8 $ nacho plate, that is all you get! You don't get any tax back on that!" So, fair warning to ANY person traveling through or from out of town...there are SEVERAL other establishments in town that are AMAZING..I encourage you to keep on driving right past Bite Me BBQ and find El Ranchero, or the Wagon Wheel on Broadway is AMAZING!! Really, Bite me BBQ doesn't deserve 1/2 star for quality or customer service!!!! read more
