We both ordered the Quesabirra which ended up being $30 for just those two orders which I thought was expensive at first. The food took about 10-15 minutes and then came out hot and fresh. Each meal had four full tacos, consume, two spicy sauces, and a lime. It was definitely worth the cost and very tasty. It was full of flavor and was soft while not being soggy. Dropped by after a long day and the lake and this place without a doubt hit the spot. This place is cash only so something to keep in mind if you plan on stopping in. They do have a shaded seating area around the backside and bring out salsa platters for people who eat there. The salsa platter was a great touch. I also really enjoyed that the tortas also came with fries and that really elevated this to a full meal. I ordered the barbacoa torta and my only complaint was I wish the buns had been buttered and there had been some more meat on my torta. After reading all the positive reviews on here, I will admit I was very excited to give this place a try. There is no doubt in my mind that these tacos are made with LOVE. They taste very 'casero' or homelike. It's as if your 87 year old grandmother has been slaving in the hot kitchen all day, picking the right beans and stirring those pots. I haven't had tacos these good in a long, long time. Prices are great and they pack everything up with a lot of meat. They prefer cash but now they have a set up where you can pay them using Venmo. My husband and I were searching for some authentic Mexican food and we stumbled upon this gem. We are so glad we did. We both had gorditas and tacos. I had the fish taco, and carne asada gordita. It was absolutely delicious. Way better than any standard Mexican fare that you would find in a restaurant local to the area. He had the chicken Gordita and beef Gordita. We were greeted by a very nice lady. Both plates included hot sauce that was spicy but not overwhelming spicy. Just right! We opted for takeout but the truck does offer seating in the shade. Best Mexican Food I've ever had out of a food truck -- or even any Mexican Restaurant I've tried. The shaded tent with booths behind the food trailer is a nice touch for the full food truck experience with some shade for a outdoor experience. It is next to a busy and semi loud highway of which makes ordering a bit challenging as it is hard to hear the cashier taking the order and there was a semi language barrier, but they have an efficient look and point at whose order is ready system of which adds further food truck charm to the experience. It surprisingly must be all cooked fresh or at least the fish tacos are, as it was about 8-9 minutes for the food to be cooked and ready. I thought they might just serve it out of a heated crock pot or pan, but they seem to cook it on demand once ordered which was a nice touch for the better than expected flavors and textures. It is not as fast as Chipotle, but around the same price points. It is cash only and they didn't provide any receipt so if you need one for work I am not sure they provide them, you may have to ask. I ask for a cup of water and got a bottled water of which I was charged for, but it wasn't a big deal as the experience of it all was a first for me at this place. The 2 fish tacos on the menu was to come with 2 sides, but I only got 2 fish tacos so you may have to be extra clear when ordering exactly what you want as I thought in ordering the two fish tacos I was getting the combo meal, but got only 2 fish tacos. They serve things to go, but you can take them to the back benches under the tent to eat there as well. There were several people there ordering when we stopped to order and it does seem to be quite a popular place at times, but at other times there has been no one else there. The neon open side on the trailer flashed at times, and the open sign in the window behind the shaded glass you can barely see from outside so just because you can't see the neon sign you may wish to look closer to see if they are open or not if no one else is outside if you see a parked car or truck. They staff was very friendly and the location was easy to find and is in a big open lighted area with plenty of parking and a great location for a full time food truck trailer. I recommend trying this place at least once as it is one of the best kept secrets in the town for Mexican food. read more

My mother used to have tamales all the time in her small hometown. Trying to find comfort food for her and I found it at this food truck in Manhattan, KS! I have never enjoyed tamales as my mother has tried to make them for years because she loves them so much--yuck(don't tell mom). But these were good! Mom thought the tamales were a bit bland but for the first time, I enjoyed them. Pork was good a nice quality and they were in real corn shucks. To top it off, the head lady was just so darn sweet--!
