Ridiculously expensive and the quality wasn't there I'm sorry. Croissants for instance were pretty awful.

Quaint cafe, friendly and clean. Steady flow of customers. Delicious lemon tart. Was difficult to choose. The quiche looked delicious.

"THE BEST FULL IRISH IN THE COUNTRY!!!!"…read more 5 Stars. Five. If I could give more I would. If you love breakfast, you need to take a trip to Midleton, Co Cork. At The Pantry, you'll be served what can only be described as The most serious contender for BEST FULL IRISH IN THE COUNTRY!!!! This is not something I take lightly. I have enjoyed far too many a Full Irish's up and down our fair island...and I'm not joking - SO MANY breakfasts. But never have been inspired to put my feelings about any meal in writing...nevermind post them online. Until now. I first wandered into The Pantry just over a year ago looking for a breakfast...we were met a smile and welcome from Gordon who runs the show. He was quick to find us a comfortable table with plenty space for our buggy (a high chair was available but we didn't need it) and to bring us some tea and coffee (both great by the way). We each ordered the Full Irish. Breakfasts are cooked to order and service is efficient and attentive. Food arrived in good time. Respectively, each item on each plate was cooked perfectly. Food was out of a frying pan and not a deep fryer. Each meal came with tea/coffee and toast...as it should do. We got to speak with Gordon after our meal. He told us about his experience running the The Pantry, about how they bake their own bread daily, about all the different local suppliers..for the sausages, for the bacon, for the pudding, etc. The Pantry is a bright and welcoming cafe/bistro serving a tempting variety of foods throughout the day. Go for a coffee and a cake of go for The BEST FULL IRISH you're ever likely to be served...go for the welcome alone...just go. FIVE STARS. 5! Following that, and in the interest of a fair and impartial review, I should mention the negatives: Each time I visit, I can't help but be reminded of the fact that I live 161 and a half miles away (260km)...and I can never help but think about how long it might be before I'll be able to get another breakfast here. That's me. That's my review. Cheers Gordo. You're the man.

Ice cream is one of my many favorite types of desserts, and since County Kerry's cows are known for producing extra rich and creamy milk, I was really excited to get extremely creamed. The shop was very bright with a simple and natural design. They had some unique flavors like Honeycomb Caramel, Dingle Sea Salt, and Irish Brown Bread. The scoopers who helped me were very friendly and let me try as many flavors as I wanted. I finally decided on getting a small size of the Dingle Sea Salt and Kieran's Cookies in a cup. The ice cream was sweet and delicate, the Dingle Sea Salt had a very light salted vanilla flavor and Kieran's Cookies were like an Irish cookies n' creme. Because of all the hype on the creamiest milk being produced from around the county, I was getting ready for a creamsplosion up my yapper, but after my first lapping, I didn't think that that my scoops were as rich and creamy as other frozen novelties I've had the pleasure of savoring. But because their ice cream is said to be very natural, using only fresh ingredients from around Ireland, it might just be that my taste buds are already accustomed to over-processed artificial ingredients!

We ordered a dark chocolate hot chocolate, a dark chocolate hot chocolate espresso, and a white chocolate cookie. Now say that three times fast. I was freaked out on a recent trip home to see my favourite chocolate shop closed up and the interior gutted. It wasn't dead though, just waiting to be resurrected. They've expanded into the unit next door, and now it's a far nicer place to sit and sip your hot chocolate or pick up some sugar-filled nibbles. The main change is an increase in seating, and the splitting of the store in chocolate and coffee sections.Hopefully this will mean service will get quicker, especially when the Christmas rush kicks in and those chocolates start jumping off the shelves. As for a recommendation, if you can handle the sugar, get a milk and white. If you want something a bit different, the dark praline is a real treat.
