A company with a great cause but the coffee was not good and it was more expensive than any of the other local coffee shops. I wasn't able to finish my drink as it tasted like watered down sweetened milk instead of a latte with coffee. Hopefully the coffee quality can be improved someday. read more

Not a lot that's local and fits this description is open early in Savannah - and you'll need to wait for Bitty and Beau's to open at 9 a.m. - but I found Bitty & Beau's in my search and was immediately sold that we'd be having a morning snack for a purpose. Bitty & Beau's is known for employing special needs individuals - which is certainly a cause I can get behind. We basically were their first customers of the day, so they were still trying to get setup and their rhythm going for the day. The staff and manager were friendly. This isn't the quickest in terms of service, but the pride and passion of the staff is strong. It fit our needs for something quick and light for the morning. We went on a trip to Savannah and discovered this little gem. Our hotel was right near it so I made a walk down there, and I was so moved. The menu is adequate, with all the basic coffee options, including sugar-free and almond milk. They also have a small selection of muffins, and tons of merchandise. The atmosphere was great! Very clean and typical coffee house feel with the most amazing staff. The coffee was good, served a bit hot. The muffin was sweet and delicious with all the calories! Such a great coffee shop!!! The staff is so friendly and attentive. I also thought my chai latte was pretty good, but my friends did not love the coffee. However, the lady overlooking the staff was incredibly rude and demeaning to them. She was yelling at them loudly in the middle of the cafe when it was clearly apparent that the workers were special needs. I definitely would return but I think they need to treat their staff better, especially since they are exceptionally kind to their customers. read more

The mission of this shop has been lost as the owner revels in her own hero complex. The managers are worked to death, with no days off. The employees are no more than caged animals for display in too many locations. When the shops get busy, the managers step in and take over because the employees are "too slow" with the task at hand. They like to show a fun shop where employees are always laughing, singing and dancing, however that is only when the cameras are rolling. Nothing at all like the owners like to pretend. read more

Decided to try this coffee shop and I'm beyond thankful I did. They are a wonderful company that hires their staff who are developmentally challenged. It is one of the coolest of concepts and the staff there are awesome people. Their coffee is great and they even warm up the muffins for you. They make frappes as well as smoothies so you're able to get most anything you desire. Jonah worked the register and was a great worker and Hannah helped make the coffee I ordered. She also loves dogs and cats and asked to see my animals which was a very sweet gesture. Wow I just think this place is amazing. First of all I think the cause is wonderful and I've never seen anywhere like it. The staff is so warm and welcoming and they put a smile on my face. The coffee is super tasty. I got a sugar free chocolate latte and is was soooo good. And it was actually hot. Unlike at Starbucks where it's lukewarm at best. So I give them mad props on that. Now this is a magical place. The people that have put this company together are really something special. It's based around helping people with special needs by allowing them to work and have a fulfilling life. It really does mean a lot to the people that work here and you can tell it. Me and my fiancé love coming here and just hanging out for a while and just talking and visiting. It lights up her world by talking to them and just hanging out being with them. You can tell this has worked in their lives great also just by the way they interact with each other, they all seem like their best friends and all pick each other up and help out! It's such a well functioned machine, definitely go to their website and checkout the full story if you haven't yet. It's located right on Congress Street beside city market so definitely come by and get a coffee and visit! They actually do have very good coffee, iced coffee and I like their tea too!
