My Uber driver recommended this place for breakfast and it was a gem. They have great Yelp reviews so I was expecting it to be super busy but I arrived on a weekday at about 9:00 AM and there was no problem getting a seat (there were lots of patrons there so it must have been good timing). The maitre'd was cheery as was our server. I ordered the eggs Benedict with ham and it was great! I appreciated the small portion of potatoes on the side as well as the small salad. I loved this little restaurant in the heart of Savannah! We came around 11am in a Thursday and didn't have to wait. I ordered the upstream supreme and I really enjoyed the flavor of the slaw on top. Phenomenal experience all around. From the moment we walked through the door the server created us with a energetic warm energy that felt really genuin and had a great rapor with us. We started with some coffee to get us going. A lavender spiced mocha for me and a cold brew for my wife. Both were great. The lavender and spice werent too strong or sweat but added a nice touch. The cold brew was strong with a hint of chocolate. My dad tried to order the coffee tonic and our server actually didnt recomend it which I respect a lot and made me like the place more. Its very easy to say everything is good but to not recomend one thing gives more weight to the stuff you do recomend. The food was just as good. I got the veggie patty with tomato jam and poached egg and it came together really well. The poached egg was jammy and the saveriness paired well with the patty and sweetness of the jam. Everyone else liked theirs a lot too and from the looks of them, they were just as good. The atmosphere is actually what drew us to this place in the first place. The stone and brick walls added a classy timeless look. Sometimes the logo is very distracting in the glass but theirs was sleek and added to the ombiounce. We tried to go during dinner and reservations were full for the day at 6 until close so we actually went for brunch the next day which is first come first serve. This worked pretty well and didnt seem to fill up until a few hours after open so I recomend either reserving in advance or going for brunch. This is a fantastic spot for breakfast. We were told a 30 minute wait and were seated within 10 minutes. Our server, Quinn, was very informative and knew the menu well. Everything he recommended was amazing and we left very happy and full. I had the short rib and another friend had the Dubai Chocolate French Toast ( pictured). This Australian-fusion spot serves brunch in the morning and reopens for dinner later in the day, and everything about the experience--from the food to the vibe--was memorable. We ordered the Eggs Benedict, and it was perfection. The hollandaise sauce was phenomenal, and the crispy smashed rosemary potatoes on the side were packed with flavor. My husband ordered the short rib dish, which came on top of a crispy hash brown with a sunny-side egg and an incredible Mojo Verde sauce. We both thoroughly enjoyed every bite. To drink, we each had an Aussie cappuccino that tasted beautifully chocolatey, creamy, and rich--truly unlike a typical cappuccino. I literally wish I could have one every morning. We also shared a chocolate croissant that was flaky and delicious. But the absolute showstopper was the Dubai Chocolate French Toast. The photos don't even come close to doing it justice. It's a masterpiece made with pistachio pastry cream, chocolate, Nutella,roasted pistachios, kataifi, strawberries, and a pistachio-crusted gelato on top. It was decadent, unique, and honestly unforgettable--an absolute must-order. There is usually a wait, but it's worth it. You can stroll around downtown and explore the nearby shops while you wait for your table. Let me start off by saying I had the most amazing experience and best server the hospitality here was 10/10 our server was all blinged out and wore a crown like a king and his personality was truly royalty to match the service he gave us. Came here yesterday for dinner, as they had vegetarian food on the menu. We were lucky to get a place w/o reservation, we got the last free high table close to the bar. The table was nicely laid out with real napkins and the staff (on his first week in service) was really nice and helpful and had good humour. The staff and the location are wonderful. Without any reservation, we were lucky to sit right away next to the front door. The food was just so-so. I ordered the burger which comes with fries. The best part of the meal was the fries. Seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The burger was smash style on a huge sesame seed bun. The bun was quite tall that I just removed the top and used my knife and fork to eat. The burger was burned and had little crispy parts on the sides. I expect more for a $22 burger. We ordered the Heirloom Tomato Salad which was fresh and probably the highlight of the meal. It would be better if it came with bread and would have ordered the skillet bread if I had seen it on the menu. We found ourselves in Savannah on a Friday night with no dinner plans. We looked through Yelp at what was open and available and at first we were going to go to the Collins quarter in Forsyth Park, but ended up at this location instead. We only looked at the menu for Forsyth Park, but based on our experience, I am thinking they may have totally different menus. This restaurant was much more upscale than we had anticipated which is fine however, nothing that they offered sounded great so we went with the $23 hamburger each. The hamburger did come with fries however there were very limited toppings on the burger. It was just cheese and an aïoli. I ended up asking for more aïoli and also used it as a dipping sauce. I felt we were not as prepared or as formally dressed as we should've been for this location, however for $23 anywhere the hamburger should be spectacular in. This one was honestly about the same as if I had made one. I'm not exactly sure of the historic significance of this location, but we saw many walking groups of what look like people on a ghost tour coming by as well as bicycle tours, etc. We were able to find parking easily on the street and although we did not have a reservation we walked up and we're seated immediately outside, which was beautiful. read more

I stopped by Collins Quarter for a quiet breakfast on a rainy morning. No reservations, but you'll be fine at 8:30 am. I had the buttermilk brulee toast, which is not a french toast, and served room temperature. It was interesting because I had not had a breakfast food like it. There was rich whipped cream and a berry compote on it. I'm glad I ordered a side of eggs to offset the richness and sweetness of the brulee toast. Went to the restaurant twice--once for dinner and then for breakfast the next morning. The staff was pleasant. The evening that we went, we ordered a salad for dinner to split. The salad was about 3.5 out of 5. The kale was a little bitter, which I believe it is supposed to be, but for $28, I've had better salads. The appetizer that was dates wrapped in bacon was a 4 out of 5--great flavor, not too sweet, and had a nice savory element to it. The skillet bread was thin and didn't have a lot of flavor or texture to it, which needed to make it "wow." I'd give it a 3 out of 5. The wings were a three and a half out of five. They were good but not great--not the largest portion for the price, not the meatiest wings on the bone, but reasonable. The adult drink was a four and a half out of five, per my wife. Going to the next morning, when we came, there was an issue getting a seat in the corner. For some reason, one staff member was okay with it; the other staff member was iffy. It gave a weird vibe. The smashed avocado was a reasonable portion for what it was. The tomatoes seemed to be pickled--great flavor. I'd give it a three and a half out of five. The potato onion hash, which was a side, had great flavor to it. However, it was a small portion, but I would definitely give it a 4 out of 5. The OG breakfast sandwich was a 3 out of 5. The egg didn't have a lot of flavor. The meat on it was definitely tender and had good flavor, but it was just okay. The hash browns on the side seemed like something you'd get at a cafeteria. The Lavazza mocha was a 3 out of 5--wasn't as flavorful as it was expected to be. Overall, I have to give the restaurant a 3 out of 5. The pluses and the minuses equal "just okay." Not enough for me to say the next time I'm in town, I have to go back there. I wouldn't tell someone not to go--if you haven't been, you should definitely give it a try and see what you think. I'd heard good things prior to coming to Savannah and it definitely lived up to the hype. It was a brief walk from my hotel and convenient to my next excursion, the Juliette Gordon Low house. I was seated quickly since I arrived not long after they opened. Perused the menu and ultimately decided on the Classic Breakfast and I thought an avocado on the side. I somehow ended up with the Avocado Smash! Yikes. But happy to report I slowly worked my way through both. A classic breakfast is just that; eggs, bacon, toast, and a hashbrown. Everything hit the spot and it's hard to miss the mark on a classic breakfast anyway. So glad I ended up with the avocado smash, it was so good and the pickled green tomatoes gave it a little something extra to set it apart for other avocado toasts. Seemed the guys and gals had wanted to do something before wedding rehearsal today. Craving something for brunch, we heard great things about The Collins Quarter! Going in, there was a 40 minute wait, but we managed to kill some time by walking around the area. For lunch we ordered 1x Bubble & Squeak, 2x Swine Time Bennis, and 1x Salmon Hollandaise. Moving into my review; I don't remember the last time I was really wowed by breakfast but WOWOW! Everything was impeccable and the prices for the quantity and quality felt unreal. I didn't take a photo of it, but the bubble and Squeak had such a nice contrast of textures and flavors, between savory crunchy potato take and that creamy creamed corn with the poached eggs ughhhh sooo good! Swine Time Bennis rocked as the poached egg seeped into the French toast and had savory tender strips of bacon and shredded pork! The salmon hollandaise came with nicely crisped but flakey salmon and a well seasoned creamy hollandaise sauce! The Fresno peppers on both, also made the meals addcitively delicious too! Overall, I really was surprised by the breakfast I ate today and will be bragging to all my friends that we need one of these down in Florida. We walked over from our bed and breakfast and put our name on the list. The wait was about 30 minutes. We got a table inside by the window. It was so bright and airy in the dining area. Hubby and I ordered the same thing: the breakfast sandwich, no arugula. I loved the soft brioche bun, yummy sliced pork shoulder, and perfectly fried egg. It was a unique twist on a classic bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. The hashbrowns were scrumptious, crispy and salted well. They were similar to a McDonald's hashbrown but way better. We also enjoyed their coffee. I had a cold brew, hubby had a traditional drip coffee. Overall, it was a wonderful little breakfast spot.
