We weren't looking for a huge meal, so we shared the JP Deluxe, and it ended up being the perfect portion for the two of us. The combination of the jalapeño cheddar cornbread waffle topped with sausage gravy, fluffy scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and scallions was exactly what we were looking for. Every ingredient complemented the next, creating the perfect balance of savory, smoky, cheesy, and just a subtle kick from the jalapeño. We also got the tobacco syrup on the side, which added a unique sweet-and-savory contrast that tied everything together beautifully. I also loved their ordering concept. You place your order at the counter first, grab a seat, and then the staff brings everything out to your table. It's efficient without feeling rushed, and everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I didn't enjoy it at all. The two stars for great customer service. Ordered hot cocoa and a croissant sandwich. The cocoa tasted like they just poured the hot milk in and put it on the counter. Thus, it tasted like hot milk with small clumps of chocolate. The croissant itself was good. But the eggs, not sure if they're steamed first, but they're watery yet rubbery and have no flavor. It's busy. Very busy on a Sunday. Get there early. Although busy, they push everyone through and produce amazing food for the price and speed. It's set up efficiently so you can order easily, get your food, and sit. I had the Eggs Benedict and blueberry scone. My friend had the waffle with jalapeño on it. The scone needed more blueberries but not a deal breaker. The staff was quick to clear tables, and refill everything. The bathrooms and dining area were clean and had cute decor. When it comes to visiting Savanah, admittedly I've come to expect only the best culinary experiences; and, casual though it may be, Goose Feathers did not disappoint. Open only until 2:00 PM, if you're looking for breakfast, brunch or lunch, this is the place to be. Arriving at just about noon, the place was packed, but not unpleasantly so, with customers that quickly moved through the ordering process, past the register, and to the ample seating, of their own choosing (with limited outdoor seating available; but not preferable at the time, due to the spotty showers that also choose to attend). Beverages are provided as payment is being made, leaving no thirst unquenched. Needless to say, seating is immediate. With a cup of rich, flavorful, house blend coffee in hand, my daughter, Son in Law, and I found a seat with a great view of the market activities happening outside only moments before our meals were served. The Italian Panini, chock full of succulent mildly spicy meats and lettuce, covered proportionately with dressing (yes, I was given my own bite size sample) , was my daughter's choice; a visually appealing (although not personally sampled) breakfast platter was the pick of the day for my Son in Law; and, Salmon BLT, composed of one thick, juicy piece of salmon, bursting with flavor, accented by a slice of smokey bacon atop a crisp bed of lettuce, slathered in a mild, but tasty, mustard based sauce, between two halves of a soft , flakey, croissant that more than rivaled the size of an average hamburger bun, was my choice. It did not disappoint. At just under $45.00, before tip, all of this seemed like a bargain. If there could be a downside to this experience, and I would say there couldn't be, it would be that, when visiting Savanah, choosing the place to eat jus became a bit more difficult, with Goose Feathers now in contention. read more

What a great breakfast to have before starting the day!! This spot is busy! But don't let the line deter you from waiting. It's a quick wait to the counter where you will place your order before finding a seat. Prices are great and Goose Feathers is right in the heart of downtown so if you're staying at a hotel it's a short walk away. I ordered the Belgian waffle with a side of grits and bacon and everything was great. The grits were perfectly made. Oftentimes I'm disappointed because people will use water and they're not creamy or salted but these were great. The staff were all very friendly. The spot has a diner dive feel but it's clean. They have pastries (which when we went at around noon, it appears they were sold out of most), coffee (including specials for St Patrick's Day), breakfast, and lunch options. The BLAT (BLT with avocado) came on ciabatta bread, which made it dry. It came with mayo, though I needed to add extra to make up for the dry bread. The avocado was very fresh and the bacon was cooked well. I wouldn't order this one again The chicken bacon mushroom melt was juicy and the chicken was cooked well. This is definitely a reorder item The rosemary potatoes were a nice side. The potatoes were soft (but not mushy), seasoned well with a peppery flavor, and came with sour cream on the side. My husband and I went on Sunday, and I can definitely say this is one of those tourist traps. The service is great. There are menus placed outside the restaurant and once you enter so you can view your options before you order - which you need to do before you sit down. The menu has several options to make most dietary restrictions happy. I noticed the price of side items, and that already turned me off. ~3 for grits plus a dollar to add cheese is criminal! Especially when there are so many other places that do that for less (and add cheese for free!) We placed our orders, the breakfast platter with packed eggs and side turkey sausage, and the eggatarian which came with pesto and hollandaise. The breakfast platter was small! The eggatarian was good- but did not come with a side. Prices aren't bad, but when comparing to other places that offer a similar price point, like Clarey's, you get a lot less bang for your buck. While on scene I learned GFC makes a gluten-free bagel and currently had some gluten-free cheesecake in their display! We ate nothing else like this stuff the rest of our trip. However it wasn't just the food that left us happy. It truly was the staff. Jennifer, the owner, sat and chatted with us as if we were long lost friends. She gave us a list of things to put on our must do Savannah list and told us to come back for the Saint Patrick's Day parade. Chef was wonderful. He checked in on us multiple times and it was beyond appreciated. The pastry chef, Andrea, couldn't wait to hear what she thought of the pasties she pours her heart and soul into daily. And every other person working was kind, friendly and personable. One is only so lucky to find a small business of this high quality. We grabbed a window table with our drinks. They have a water station/condiment station/coffee accoutrement station for your dining pleasure. Wait time for the food was short, and staff were super friendly. It was bustling by the time we got our food. My coffee stayed hot the entire meal and my food was VERY piping hot fresh.
