We were down in Port St Joe a few weeks ago when my son called and said his AC went out on the way down. Turns out the AC belt had broke. I called and talked to Rick about the issue and he said he would try to work us in. After 3 hours he called me back to say the truck was ready. Unbelievable service!! Even better than that was the price he charged. He was very accommodating and suggested some other things that needed to be addressed in the future that was very helpful. We had a 6 hour drive from GA to Cape San Blas and our car started to overheat. We thought we just needed coolant, but the next day it overheated again and realized there is a leak somewhere because all the coolant had already drained. I did a quick google search for nearby mechanics and BJ's came up. And since the first phone call, we have received nothing but excellent customer service. We had it towed first thing the next morning and our car was ready the following day. Being a mama with 2 babies, we really needed our car to get around (and to get home by Saturday). I stopped by yesterday because I had a blowout on my golf cart tire, and they were swamped. Since I had the replacement in hand , I left my tire there and came back at close of business and they were already backing up for the next day. He finishes his phone call and I could tell by his phone calls that he was a good mechanic and told the people everything that was wrong with their car and I could hear the conversation where the people were shocked that it was so inexpensive repair. When it came to me. He didn't wanna know if I was local or a tourist. He just wanted to know how he could help. He changed the tire on my golf cart for free. Free. I tried to pay him, but he wouldn't accept he said it only took a second, and just to come back and see him if I need anything else I haven't seen this service since before Covid. He has lifetime customer with me. And judging by memorability in the wall, he's a vet and a patriot so that's a plus too. read more

I daily drive a 50 year old Toyota with a small block Chevy engine swap. BJ and Rick are the only guys in town that will be working on my baby moving forward. Diagnosis of an old engine was spot on, parts ordered, and installed and it drives like it's new again. They're a busy shop, with more work than they can handle, so patience is on the customer. I had a deck screw in my tire - went to Bj's to have it plugged- waited all of about 15 minutes as it was a busy Monday morning and whoa not only were they friendly and super nice they fixed it for FREE- can you believe it? He said it was his way of giving back from Hurricane Michael over 14,000 done so far and that's right all for Free! I come from Chicago and have a home here and believe you me in Chicago they charge you just to speak to someone! We will use Bj's whenever we have any issues! I recently took my vehicle to BJ's to have a front end alignment done on my Ford Platinum. I've had front end alignments on other vehicles done elsewhere in the past and some have worked and some haven't. However, THIS alignment is by far the best one that I've ever had! We were on our way to go camping at Port St. Joe when my truck (2005 Ford F250 diesel) started running hot. After limping to our campsite the campground owners recommended BJ's. Took the truck there on Monday morning. They did a quick diagnosis and thought it was an EGR coolant hose. Had to leave the truck overnight because of their workload. They got to the truck first thing Tuesday. Sure enough it was the hose they thought it was. After repairing some additional work a previous shop had done incorrectly the truck is running great. Thanks to the crew here at BJ's. I can highly recommend this shop if you need repairs to your vehicle. Good, honest and reasonable prices too. read more

Well they charged me for 6 spark plugs, but didn't even touch the 3 in the back that are hard to get to. My latest mechanic found that they weren't even the right plugs. They were making my car stall in traffic. I also paid for a coolant flush, but less than 10,000 miles later I'm getting an oil change and I'm told that I'm out of coolant. I ask if there's a leak and they say no. So I guess they didn't flush my coolant either. I also paid them to repair my air conditioner. They replaced the blower motor, which wasn't broken, instead of fixing the actual problem, but still gave me the car back as if they'd done their job. They also pulled my check engine light codes and told me if they replaced a $213 O2 sensor it'd go away. It didn't. When I next read the codes it was obviously the knock sensors that needed to be replaced, no big mystery, yet they were prepared to sell me another O2 sensor to try and fix the problem. I also paid for a transmission flush. I got a call from BJ's, they ask me,"Hey was there something wrong with the transmission when you brought it in? It's not shifting right. We can try going to a junkyard to replace the transmission..." but I had been driving the car for years and never had any transmission issues, so I laughed and said no thanks. Then when I come to pick up the car, it is jerk-shifting from 1st to 3rd gear. I went back to the shop pretty furious, and they didn't apologize but instead told me "Hey don't sweat the small stuff" and told me to leave the car there for them to fix. So, they call me up later and say, "Hey we misplaced a wire, it's fixed now." I'm not a mechanic but I don't see how that could happen during a transmission flush. Initially they tried to blame me, saying that the transmission flush brings out transmission problems. In light of all the other ways they screwed me, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd sabotaged my transmission in the hopes of selling me a replacement. It's either that, or they're just extremely incompetent. So all in all I'd say they're shady, dishonest, young & inexperienced. read more

This place is amazing. I was having a mechanical issue on my Jeep and I was about to make the 8 hour drive back down to Boca when my car didn't want to cooperate and BJ's saved the day. On vacation and got a nail in my tyre. Took it in and B.J fixed with a plug for far less than I think all his labor cost. Cynically as a vacationer I was expecting to be told I needed a new tyre or be charged an arm and leg for services. So far from the truth B .J was friendly, courteous and the price was exceptionally reasonable. read more

Went to Advance auto parts and they thought I had alternator problems. Went to BJs to replace and he did diagnostics. Problem was the battery which had a bad cell. Replaced the battery; whole operation took less than 1/2 hour. Would highly recommend! read more

They more than quadrupled the estimated parts costs (without calling me to confirm), but so far it's running well.

We recently took the car in for an oil change and asked them to check the tire inflation and fluid levels. The only thing they did was change the oil and for good measure, left a rag on top of the engine. I can only imagine the damage this would have caused had I not found it and removed it. I do not recommend this slip shod business and will not return. read more
