I have never had a bad meal here or waiting an agonizing long time to eat here either, in all honesty, we don't come here during dinner rush or when we are hangry, hungry yes, but not withering away to nothingness. So the usual items hubby, Mini-Me and I order, on any given is the following: Steakhouse Wedge or Asian Chopped Salad Beef dip (absolutely delicious), or mini sliders Bacon Burger- extra bacon Tri-Tip or Prime Rib ( I love the Prime Rib here- seasoned perfectly-Fri & Sat only and I think on Sundays too) Full Rack- ribs- I really like the BBQ sauce here. Cherry Glazed Salmon or Mahi-Mahi tacos We always save room for the Pizooki trio, I am required to share, so we get the trio. I always order the Framboise, I had it for the first time at the BJ's in Ca and I order it every time I am here, it goes with everything I order. Hubby goes for the Moscow mule or a Blue Moon, Mini-Me prefers a Margarita- we like the margarita flight and share it, sometimes-wink. I tried the Hard Root-beer, it was pretty good I wanted to try the white peach boba-rita but at around $14, I rather stick to my usual poison. This place has so much potential to be great but steps on their own toes. Menu is packed with pub and bar favorites. But all the dishes are like 1 ingredient off. The California flatbread was great but it had a crazy heavy tomato sauce with garlic on it. The steak house salad was great. But it was soaked in blue cheese, Blue cheese and chimichurri don't mix. The food sucks and the prices are outrageous. This place is like one tick above Applebees. We went here for lunch today. I got a bowl of ziti. It was $23. For a single serving of pasta. It was supposed to come with meatballs. It came with 2-3 sugar cube sized meatballs. My wife (who's vegan) ordered a salad because there's nothing much she can eat here (which isn't a big deal, she's fine eating salads). It was $22 for a SALAD with nothing on it. Only reason for 2 stars is the staff. The staff is always nice and accommodating. They seat you quickly and attend to you very well. But the food... it's just pre-made, frozen garbage. The menu says "house made" meatballs. Not sure whose house they were made in... but they were stuffed in a bag then stuffed in a freezer before they made it the freezer at BJs. The meats were all delicious and cooked well, and the service was very good--attentive and friendly throughout. The place looked clean and inviting too. Ridiculous wait time!!!! Need more kitchen help and better managers. The food was good but an hour for simple food.

Went to the restaurant yesterday with my dad and partner. We were greeted fairly quickly by the bartender but that's about the only positive. We weren't treated very nicely at all. The bartender served our drinks and then proceed to sit on his phone and leaned his head on the taps, meaning his hair was in the taps of beer. We wanted another round drinks and had to yell for his attention since his phone was his main focus. While at the computer he thought it was professional to be bitting on his hat right in front of us. Horrible customer service, no professionalism and simply very rude. This a great place to enjoy the game or take your family for a nice dinner. Only issue is they run out of stuff quite often. The ambiance is very sports bar like. They have a bar surrounded by TVs. And a sitting area for groups wanting less of a bar type setting. Being a brew house they have a lot of kegs and beer making equipment for show. The servers are great. Only issue, during the week days they run out of many menu items. The pork loin runs out the quickest. They also don't have the advertised drink with mango spice rum. Totally disorganized. Back of house is a mess. After our apps were delivered we had to wait for our server to go back and wrap silverware for us to use. There was a ridiculous wait between each item. 1-11/2 hr dinner turned into 3hrs. I don't blame our server she was great! Now the bathrooms. None of the stalls locked so people walked in on you. No toilet paper in any stall. Two soap dispenser bottles. Both broken. One had no top other top was broken requiring you to pick up the slimy bottles to dispense soap. Against my own better judgment, we gave it another try. This time the server at the bar was very attentive. Food came quickly, as did the drinks. But I ordered the boneless wings and they were very dry. The menu shows them served with 6 nice-sized celery stalks. Mine arrived with 3 tiny stalks, one of which was actually dirty. I ordered a Bloody Mary which was "OK" but this is the first time I have EVER been served a Bloody Mary with nothing else in it but mix and vodka! No carrot stalk, no celery (probably a good thing) no olives.... No style! I think there was a tiny slice of lime somewhere beneath the over abundance of ice. We had my daughter's baby sprinkle here. Liz helped us and did an outstanding job. I was concerned that there was not a separate room but we had plenty of space and privacy. It wasn't her first baby so we wanted just a light and fun time to acknowledge the new baby. The ambience was perfect for our group. The food was great. We chose the middle package which included Caesar salad, 4 different pizzas, the Parmesan chicken entree with vegetables and mashed potatoes and we added the spinach dip as an app. The soft drinks and linens were also included. I thought that was a great deal! I paid extra for beer and wine and brought the cake. We also had two attentive servers. It was completely stress free! Our family of 4 loved this place. The drinks were really great. It definitely seems to be a popular bar crowd but that is separate from the restaurant and had many families. This is definitely a good for kids restaurant. I had the tri-tip, which was amazing. If you're not sure what a tri-tip is it's like London broil stepped its game up times 10. Not to be confused with steak tips. It's so good and never served anywhere. I don't really remember what anyone else had. I just know there was a lot of meat on our table and no complaints from anyone. Also my son arrived being slightly a pain in the behind, and our waitress adapted immediately to him and had him smiling before she left the table, so needless to say besides deserving it for being a great waitress she got an above average tip well-deserved. read more

This restaurant is probably the most poorly run I have ever been to. Multiple negative experiences at BJs. Most recently we ordered $150 in food through their website for delivery with no indication the delivery service would be through Door Dash. Well, the Door Dasher didn't speak any English, and instead of our food, BROUGHT US A BAG OF RABBIT FOOD. We called BJ's and they said they weren't responsible. They didn't apologize or offer to remake the food. They held zero accountability. I called Door Dash and they told us BJ's would be compensated as it was Door Dash's error, but that the refund would have to be processed through BJ's as the payment went through their system and website. Bj's offered no confirmation or help otherwise, specifically the manager Michelle B, they just claimed we would be refunded in 2 days. I never received this refund, and the manager on duty claimed they were "too busy to talk to us". At this point they have received our money as well as Door Dash's money and feel no inclination to facilitate this refund. They claimed the only way for us to receive the refund was through corporate whom they supposedly emailed. This place is always a disaster, poorly run, over priced, and barely mediocre. We only ordered there because my picky son will eat their chicken sandwich. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I went here this week with a large family group and had high expectations but was really let down. There was a wide range of food ordered at out table, some was good but most was bad. The simple stuff, like fries, boneless wings, etc were fine...Just average. But the expensive food was not good. Steaks and seafood were terrible. The steaks were fatty, not cooked properly and were not seasoned well. Seafood did not look/taste fresh. It really was bad. We eat out a lot and have visited literally every restaurant in ocean county, and after two now similar visits to BJ's, they remain at the bottom of our list for food quality and price - it is VERY expensive to eat here. I also have to mention that I had a mixed drink that was just awful and clearly mixed wrong, and my salad had soggy lettuce. Not everyone at the table hated it, my wife had a good Parmesan crusted chicken. The Kids were also ok with their meals, but more than half of us were very disappointed, and I think none of us said they would come back. Whatever you do, avoid the steaks and seafood. Service was great, and all the staff we interacted with were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was great too. We did not complain, I left a tip, but I felt cheated. This seems like a pretty nice place to grab a few beers and watch a game, as long as you had an Uber and another place to eat. This place belongs inside of an airport terminal. The dipping sauce was a cross between bathroom cleaner and a car air freshener. The kids' starter (nice touch tbh) featured rotting fruit. The chicken sandwich (billed as spicy) was devoid of spice and had a lingering oil taste thanks to the thick, over fried batter. I really did enjoy the french fries. If Toms River had an airport and this was the only option inside, I'd still skip a meal here. Being crammed in a coach seat, eating a small bag of stale pretzels and a turkey sandwich on a semi soggy brioche roll would still beat this place. Service was very good. Everything else sucked. Came in at 7:50 pm before multiple groups came in after us and was told that it would be a 30-40 minute wait. After 35 minutes we came back inside and sat for another 30 more minutes. We were then the only group left at 9:05 pm and then seated after asking the hostess twice how much more time. My roasted vegetables were burnt, far from grilled. The floors needed to be swept at the very least. Food, paper and spills were every where. Hazard. Should have left then. Went there this past Saturday with friends and had a nice time. Had a 20 min wait that ended up being on 10. None of us were drinking that evening so we didn't taste any of their specialty drinks like the one that's served in a plastic bathtub, maybe next time. We started with the orange calamari. It was tasty but the orange drizzle they put on was only on the top pieces. It wasn't mixed or tossed throughout. There was a smoky sauce served with it that did not complement the orange. Many pieces were just cooked batter from the coating. Overall it was still good. Every one's food was good. I got Sals Chicken which tasted good and the white cheddar mashed potatoes were awesome and the accompanying asparagus was cooked so it wasn't hard nor too soggy. Only small complaint was the chicken was slightly rubbery in texture, not flaky. For desert we order the Spooky Pizookie. This is a cookie topped with vanilla ice cream that's looked sort of like a snowman to us. Since it was Spooky the ice cream was colored orange and it was served with Chocolate Magic Shell to pour over. Problem was we think our desert sat for a little bit and our snowman looked like it had been in the sun for a while and started to melt and not enough Magic Shell to cover it. Still tasted good but presentation was poor. Overall we had a nice meal. Our waiter seemed new or just appeared lost and confused. read more

Our waitress was very friendly and checked in on us often. The food and drinks were good. Our only complaint was that some of the portions were on the small side, especially considering the high prices for this type of establishment. I would recommend the Enlightened Pacific Poke Soba Noodles. It was a lot of food and had more tuna than I expected. Also, make sure to get a pizookie if you have room for dessert. Not a great visit to BJ's. We were very disappointed! The soup was more like a cheddar spread! The salad was over dressed and hard to eat. Bread wasn't served with it so it wasn't edible. A mini deep dish pizza was ridiculously small for the price and the pizookie was raw! Won't be back any time soon. On a good note, the place is clean and the service was terrific. read more

The manager Ray came over to check on how things were. When I told Ray my concern of the sandwich he had good spirit about it and was saying he was going to taste it and that had me laughing. He also was joking and having fun about tasting in before the new one comes out. All good & fun when team members and managers actually care about the customer service they are providing. Upon entering we were to meet 2 family members already seated and no one was at the front desk so we located them and made our way to the table. we waited for 10 - 15 minutes before we saw any wait person. Our drink order was taken and we waited a long time before delivered. When our food was delivered, one meal was not there and it was very uncomfortable for us to eat before the missing food did arrive. My dinner was overcooked and not worth eating, and the others were not impressed with their food. Obviously we will not return at any time and cannot give a recommendation to others. We did not complain as it isn't our style to do so.
