Communication not good. I made an appointment for allergy testing prior to surgery, 2+ weeks later and one day prior to the scheduled testing the office called and told me that an additional visit was necessary. This is unusual because when I made the initial appointment, it was cleared with one of the doctors, but now all of a sudden I'm told it can't be done without an additional appointment. This completely disrupts my surgery, which had been scheduled for two days after the testing was completed. I can't speak to the quality of the care, but the front office, the physicians, the nurses, one or all of them need to spend less time worrying about insurance numbers and more time worrying about the communication in their office. read more

The visit initially was disorganized because the staff had not logged my appointment. However, they got me in at the appointed time. Dr. Gondi was excellent. He asked lots of questions, listened carefully, answered my questions and explained things very well. I wish he were all my doctors. read more

Dr Kletz should be avoided Not only did he not listen to the principal purpose for making the appointment (to rule out penicillin allergy) but he took 3 personal phone calls during my appointment regarding flood insurance and whether it was necessary for a condo on a high floor. He never introduced himself and interrupted me when I asked a question. MAJOR communications issues - this man should not have any contact with patients. read more

Called the Mclean office three times and got cut off three times - called again and started to explain what happened and got transferred. Staff answering the phone were rude and obviously have no interest in new patients. With so many options in the area, why bother with a practice that doesn't care about customers and patients. I've been seeing Dr. Kletz for over a decade, and his dedication to his patients and the helpfulness of his staff have been a constant. I first came to Dr. Kletz as a very severe allergy and asthma sufferer (I didn't even know I had asthma until I saw Dr. Kletz), and Dr. Kletz took great care in getting to know me and my laundry list of symptoms. Every so often over the last decade, I've had to recalibrate how I tackle my relentless allergies, and he has been there very step of the way being patient and knowledgeable. Dr. Kletz is one of the few doctors who doesn't rush you in and out of appointments and actually takes the time to hear your symptoms/issues and discuss the spectrum of medical solutions. He also makes himself available to his patients even when they're out of town or unable to make it into the office. 4 minutes ago 1 star for the awesome nursing staff. Dr. Kletz is awful. He talks over me, cuts me off several times, comes in late and rushes to leave the room, treats me like I'm a child, doesn't explain a clear plan of treatment unless I ask the questions myself. He just doesn't listen! I explained to him that I am hard of hearing and that I need him to speak up. He got irritated when he was still mumbling and I had to ask him to repeat himself. I hate going to appointments. I'd leave the practice in a heartbeat but I'm getting allergy shots here so I guess I'm stuck. Find another practice with a kinder doctor. I suffered with horrible, itchy hives for over a year before I saw Dr. Kletz. I had been to two dermatologists and tried all kinds of pills and lotions. Dr. Kletz diagnosed me on the first visit, gave me a new prescription and instructions, and within a week I was NOT ITCHING! How I wish I had seen him a year earlier. Dr. Gondi is the best of the best. I came to him after several sinus infections and was desperate for relief. He listens to you, asks all the right questions and then prescribes what he thinks is best. After three months, I could tell a significant difference and have been going to him ever since. In summary - Horrible bedside manner, clueless and rude staff. You cannot ask for any worse experience. Funny thing is that they claim they do pediatrics. As an adult I was shocked how terrible they treated him. The doc doesn't bother to answer your questions, and gives our incorrect Rx and refills. The nurse punctures my three year old with no warning no explanation and packs up without saying she was done!! My toddler was in tears and she was like whatever. We took our 10 month old here as we suspected he had a peanut allergy. They claim to be also specialize in pediatrics, but Dr. Kletz is definitely not a pediatric specialist. He just doesn't seem to really care and wasn't helpful all. He wasn't interested in answering our questions and also told us at one point to "google it". Definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

I recently saw this allergist for the first time to see if I had an allergy to a new pet. The doctor recommended extensive allergy tests instead of just testing for what I came in for. Turns out the tests ran over $1000 and were sent to my insurance. Never once did anyone disclose the tests would run so much or give me different options. I called to discuss and all they can do is put me on a payment plan. Very disappointed in this business practice that seems more about gouging people for money and less about the patient. read more

McLean office often closes without sufficient notice - be sure to call ahead if you are a walk-in for shots. They only post a notice on their website and the door -- they do not send out either text or email notifications of closures or appointment confirmations like other medical offices. They need to come into the 21st century! read more

I saw the allergists and nurses here for years ..approximately a decade...and I got tested for allergies multiple times, for food and environmental allergens including for cats and dogs because I had pets and did a lot of rescue work with cats, which I told the doctors and nurses multiple times about. My tests always came back allergic to dogs and highly allergic to cats. So I got shots for years....well it turns out this practice totally failed to make my serum to treat my cat allergy this whole time!! I only found out about this once I moved to NY and my new allergist received the old records and saw my serum had nothing for cat allergies only dogs! I immediately called Black and Kletz and only got an apology that it was an oversight!! This was negligence! What kind of practice has a continuing mistake and oversight when serum is made each year at least once a year, if not twice, and I had multiple tests over the years showing I was highly allergic to cats?! Doctor's were not reviewing records, results and serums like they should have each time serum was made. They never offered me reimbursement for my deductibles, copays and coinsurance payments I paid for all these years when I thought I was being treated for cat allergies. This was thousands they received from my insurance company and me, and all the while I'm not feeling well... Moreover, one year because they are in the Tyson's corner area my insurance was billed twice for the same visit ....billed to the blue cross office that covers the Washington metropolitan area and billed to the blue cross office that covers greater Virginia area. I found out because I got two explanation of benefits by the two different blue cross offices... Of course I subsequently get billed by black and kletz via the higher rates associated with the blue cross office that gave them the higher contracted rate and resulted in a higher coinsurance for me to pay for each time I got shots. It's as if their focus is all about the money...Each January you have to sign more onerous forms all about the money.... read more

I've been seeing Dr. Kletz (at the Tysons Corner office) for my allergies and mild asthma for 3 years now. For what I specifically need, I have no complaints. The waiting room is really spacious, I'm always taken back to the exam room promptly and have never had to wait very long for Dr. Kletz to see me after that. I feel that he's thorough and knowledgeable. I appreciate that his approach has been to try to get me on the minimal amount of medication needed to control my asthma and allergies. I want to be on as little medication as possible. Sometimes the front desk staff are friendly, sometimes they're not, I can understand though as they're always juggling several tasks at once when I'm there. What matters more to me is that they're always good about calling me the day before my appointment to confirm time and place, they let me know when Dr. Kletz needs to reschedule, and they're very prompt about contacting CVS if my prescription runs out between visits. Overall I'm very satisfied. read more

Dr. Kletz is probably the best doctor I have been to in my lifetime. Well I'm only 27...minus the numerous doctors I encountered as a baby that I'm not able to remember, but not the point. The wait time to see Dr. Keltz was like in the negative. During my initial visit, he walked in before the nurses even had all my paperwork ready for him. I've been there like 3x since then and the wait time is still consistent. PLUS the have 2 SEGA arcade systems. Ok I guess that's the one downfall; the lack of wait time has not allowed me to try them out, but Can I hate them for that? In addition Dr. Keltz is super knowledgeable and he's also a restaurant buff. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Kletz since 1993 to treat asthma and a myriad of allergies. I started on the immunotherapy and received a few prescriptions that were of immense help. I still get the shots to keep my symptoms manageable for the most stubborn allergies, and Dr. Kletz has modified my prescriptions over the years as my symptoms change. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful over the years, and my visits are handled very efficiently and professionally. Dr. Kletz is very professional - he is a great listener and knowledgeable and personable - I can get treatment for allergies and ear/nose/throat issues which is super convenient! Dr. Kletz has been my allergist for over 10 years and he is an excellent allergist. There is very little wait time for appointments and to get allergy shots. He does yearly allergy testing to improve your serum which helps reduce symptoms during allergy season. He asks lots of questions about your allergy symptoms and offers suggestions to help alleviate those symptoms. I highly recommend him. read more

The secretaries and billing people usually have horrible attitudes when inquiring on payment that they randomly tell you about weeks after the fact. Turns out they were billing me incorrectly for the past few months, because they couldn't enter my information in the system properly. I've been coming to practice for over 10 years. I first started off with allergy shots in Manassas and then transferred to the McLean office for maintenance. I have been seeing Dr. Ghandi. He is great at explaining his diagnosis, easy to get an appointment with, runs tests and treatment only when necessary and fills prescriptions promptly. I've been going here for a couple years now because I'm allergic to just about everything that grows in the ground. I do get shots and that means I have to go back for follow ups and testing for my progress every couple of months. So the staff and I are well acquainted and they're all really friendly. Lianne is my favorite receptionist; she's one of those people who make you feel like you're besties when you see them. We always chat about her kids and weekend plans. I usually go to see Dr. Gondi to treat my urticaria and he is wonderful and patient, but today I unfortunately had an emergency situation and had to make a last minute appointment with Dr. Kletz- the worst doctor I've ever had. When I was brought into the room, I of course sat on the patient's bench with the paper on it, and then when he came in, he asked me to get up and move to another chair, then I did and he insisted I sat at the one farthest from him. Then, I guess one of my masks (I had on two as the CDC advised) was slightly slipping off the bridge of my nose and he cut me off to ask me to fix it, and when I said "Oh I'm sorry I am double masked though" (because my nostrils were nowhere near exposed) he said "yeah well" in a rude tone. If you are going to treat me like you're disgusted by me, then he needs to offer virtual appointments. Kletz also made insensitive comments about how even though I'm being deprived of my college career, that I should feel grateful because at least I got to see freshman year. More importantly, it was known that I was there for an emergency hive outbreak appointment and when I asked what my options were in regards to steroids he said, "well it's up to you." I do not go to a professional to be told that it's up to me, I came to receive professional advice. Then when he asked to see my hives, I showed them and he said "yep you have them" as if that was not the entire reason for my appointment at an office I do not usually attend. He truly needs to either learn how to talk to people or choose a new profession because his service is absolutely awful and I recommend avoiding him at all costs. The nurses were very nice and helpful and sympathetic to me though. It's really just him that needs fixing. read more

I think they are over-enthusiastic with recommending allergy shots. Immunology is big bucks for allergists and anyone going here should know that up front. The front desk service is better than average but Robin at the front desk is nice, but you will also have to listen to all her personal telephone conversations during your wait at a very high volume. They love follow-up visits and any visit to charge another copay. Too much for me, I wouldn't go back. read more

I'm a newer patient of Black & Kletz (for the past year) but have had asthma and allergies since I was a child. So I know the routine. Very little wait time and a very helpful, efficient staff. For example, it was easy to set up mail order Rxs with them. I'm a patient of Dr. Gondi's and I think he has an excellent bedside manner. He really listens to you and doesn't just check the box. It's easy (and free!) to park at the McLean location as well (really this is in the Tysons Corner area). I definitely recommend if you suffer from chronic asthma because you know you'll be going to appointments several times a year; yearly. read more

Needed to call Dr. Kletz to schedule an allergy appointment for my daughter. I called both the DC and Tysons Corner offices to check on their appointment availability. The DC office kept me on hold for only 1 minute and the receptionist was very helpful with my questions concerning my insurance. They even had an appointment available next week! The Tyson's Corner office kept me on hold a little longer for just over 3 minutes but when the receptionist came back on the phone, she was very helpful with my insurance! That office also had an appointment available next week. They are very easy to work with and I will be taking my daughter in to see Dr. Kletz when she is home from college! read more

Dr. Gondhi is great. HOWEVER, the service from the rest of the front office operation is ABYSMAL. I had a severe medical reaction that I explained in 4 different phone calls to each person and they still did not make any effort to help get the problem resolved. They did not help me a) speak with a MD b) get the medication I needed refilled re-prescribed and c) kept saying "since you have an appt tomorrow anyways, you'll just have to deal with it until then. This is not how you treat patients. What they should have done is have the MD call me back instead of waiting until the end of the day when the office was closing to tell me the prescription was not going to be refilled. I had to go to Urgent Care since I spent the whole day waiting for them to return my phone call only to be told "you just have to wait until tomorrow." The main culprit was a woman named "GURLY" (not sure how to spell it). read more
