With COVID, you cannot due indoor tastings but they offer tastings in your car with beautiful views. We did a wine tasting and most of the wines are dry which is what we like. Our favorites were the Artisan Nouveau, Watershed Reserve and Blue Dolce. The Blue Dolce is one of the best dessert wines we have ever tried. We also purchased a jar of Pear Butter which is made from pears grown on the hillside....cannot wait to try it. It's a beautiful space indoors and out. Unfortunately, the rain went loose upon our arrival and we were unable to enjoy the outside area. They do have a new outdoor bar, which looks great. They did have live music on the stage outside. And the tables that were undercover or all filled. Of course there was plenty of room inside and in the winter they have a beautiful fireplace. Haha! We were bummed and as we were walking back to the Jeep to head somewhere else, I sparked up a conversation with a couple gentlemen from the area who were in the parking lot. They were waiting to go inside as well and assured us that the owner would be there soon. So we chatted about beers and breweries and then boom, the owner pulled in. We found out that she had to pick up an order she had placed at Sam's Club and while doing that a girl had called off, so totally understandable. We all helped her unload the stuff she bought for the bar and then she served us an ice cold Halleck Pale Ale in frosted mugs from Chestnut Brew Works, which sadly enough I'd never had until then, Wow was it was tasty! After chatting it up with the locals we happened to find out to our surprise that a guy we grew up with now lived in the area and made friends with the locals since they were all super good musicians. So they called him up and he came down and had a beer with us before we had to head out. They played us their new music on the jukebox and it was very good and we also met a local guy who had just been inducted into the WV Music Hall Of Fame. Damn, these are the days I live for! Listen, this place is 100% awesome! The owner Laura is amazing, the locals are kind and friendly, the beer is super cold and mostly local but some of your other favorites too, she makes her own wine and it's on tap, the food looks good, she supports locals businesses as well by purchasing their stuff for resale, it's roomy and they have a pool table. Every state is different and so is every county or townships. Loved this town for all the antique stores and flea markets, definitely coming back here again just for that reason....shopping!!! We found this Luke's Liquor store and Tony went in to buy a single beer. He paid almost $3 for one beer..that's a little high when not in a bar or club setting. I have to remember this when I am traveling in this area in the future.

The staff was just so friendly, and you can tell their passion for all things reading. They have worked at this spot for 20+ years, which goes to show the dedication to this special place. My kids enjoyed the unique books, along with the comfy seating in the back of the store. In addition to a great book selection, they have a variety of gifts and unique puzzles. We ended up buying a few books along with a fun, Japanese, dog-surfing puzzle that both our kids agreed was a really fun one. The prices were very reasonable and the store was just so well curated. So after walking around the downtown area(which is small and quaint) and visiting several of the different specialty shops, local restaurants, cafes, and all of the antique/thrift stores(from whom we purchased a wide variety of new and old books from). I was stoked to see this place after not being in Downtown Oakland since my daughters mothers brother lived right up the street from this place. I know, I know. Haha :) First off, the exterior is very alluring and draws you in and that's what made me and my friend want to enter, look around and purchase as many books as possible because we both love a good bookstore and reading. Though that wouldn't be the case because when I opened the door for us to walk into this establishment we were met at the door by a super rude lady who said we weren't allowed to enter the business unless we had on masks, but not a single business in Oakland had this policy except them. Smh! Welp... You lost my money.
