How lucky for us that the museum was open as their hours had changed to only 2 Saturdays a month! When we arrived, we were greeted by the nicest lady, very friendly and super informative about the musuem. The museum is spotless and beautiful! Every car is showcased to it's best potential and they are all pristine! The volunteers throughout the museum were a plethora of information and history and you could tell they loved what they do! Most of the cars are hands off but there are a few you can sit in and even a little scavenger hunt for the kiddos! We spent about an hour at the museum, admiring the cars and chatting with the volunteers, it was plenty of time to see everything. The kids loved it!

The volunteers here are fantastic - so knowledgeable, and always available to share some great piece of trivia about these vehicles. Most museums don't have that level of personalized exhibit discovery! Considering the fact that the founder is a big Ford fan, it's right up my alley; always a new Mustang on hand to enjoy!

Wild to be here now and the Cobain exhibit is gone after all these years, and so has Frank (RIP); architectural genius. The building still hits. The architecture alone is worth it. Sci-fi, horror, and fantasy exhibits carry the experience. At this point, I'd come back for the rotating shows, Rebels & Icons on the 15th, and the upstairs Lounge Bar. Low key hidden, solid pop art food/drinks, complimentary chips with their own seasoning, and great service. The museum should separate this bar on Yelp, I want to review this separately.(hint) That combo makes the membership make sense.

You are welcome to take photos, and please, take your time! There is plenty to read either on the pamphlet given to you at the entrance, or on the walls beside all the beautiful furniture, paintings, and artifacts. It's hard not to imagine yourself at the turn of the century, living in wealth in this fancy home, like the Meekers did. Ezra and Eliza Meeker were a fascinating couple who did so much with their lives, even into their last years. Traveling the Oregon Trail, hitting success with a hop business, Ezra being the mayor twice, Eliza founding the town's public library and strongly supporting the suffrage movement. I also can't help but to respect Eliza even more for her strength in character even though she was of small stature (4'8")! Especially for those who live in the area, I highly recommend you learn about this historic Puyallup family with a visit to the Meeker Mansion Museum!

We found MOHAI super interesting, with interactive exhibits as well as a lot to read. "True Northwest: The Seattle Journey" is a uniquely informative and well designed exhibit that I'd recommend to anyone who lives in or cares about Seattle. One of our favorite parts of the museum was the interactive display highlighting different clauses of the Treaty of Point Elliott/Mukilteo and posing thoughtful questions about it. The sections on changes to the landscape and urban planning were also pretty amazing to think about. The short musical about the fire was kind of silly and cheesy but I think that was intentional, and we learned a lot regardless. We also had fun (with an air of foreboding) interrogating each other based on the Canwell hearings on "UnAmerican activities" in Washington. I was a little concerned that the focus on interactive activities would make MOHAI too kid-oriented for us as 30-somethings to enjoy and learn from, but that did not turn out to be a problem. We spent a few hours here and got a lot out of our visit. Finally, I appreciate that this museum is open on Mondays and easily accessible via public transit. It also has nice views of Lake Union which you can see through the windows while browsing some of the exhibits.

The museum itself is very modern--clean lines, open spaces, and thoughtfully designed throughout. There's a good mix of Nordic artwork and exhibits, and even just walking around the space feels intentional and well curated. The highlight for us was the performance. The candlelight setup created a really warm, immersive atmosphere, and hearing familiar Beatles music in that setting gave it a completely different feel. It's one of those experiences that's hard to fully capture in photos, but definitely stands out in person. Between the architecture, the exhibits, and the events they host, it's more than just a typical museum visit.
