Booked this place thinking it was a premium experience. I was wrong. They messed up my hairline pretty bad, there were only two hair stylists working. The place was empty and felt like a shell company. It's not only a $50 haircut, but they want an extra $20 just to shape up your beard... This review is way overdue, as AG (the owner) consistently provided exceptional service for my son Jeremiah for 4 years. At the time I was relocated from GA to the area for work, unlike where I'm originally from barbershops that service black hair are not on ever confer in Broken Arrow/Tulsa. After doing a little research I quickly learned that most of those shops were located north of me with the exception of one; Black Label. I booked an appointment and I'm happy I did because not only did AG cut my sons hair well, the atmosphere of the shop was extremely family friendly, & clean. I utilized AG for the duration of our stay until I took another role and was relocated this past fall. Yes, you may have to wait but quality work is worth it. Oh by the way the wait time is not problem because unlike MOST barbershops the waiting area is clean and you don't have to worry about being solicited or overhearing what some would consider inappropriate conversations. I highly recommend this shop, and AG to anyone in the area. Friendly tip, book your next appointment while you're there waiting to be serviced... After about two years of haircuts at home, I decided it was time to find a barber. Looking through search results, Black Label had the cleanest pictures and looked reliable enough so I went ahead and booked. Walking in, the place looked really cool and everybody was friendly and laid back. Tim was my barber and we had a good talk the entire time. He did an excellent job and he was great to talk with. I forgot my barbers name but was visiting from out of town and needed a dependable place to go. They are a little pricer than I am use to but definitely worth it. I haven't gotten a haircut in a while so I wanted to go somewhere I wouldn't have to worry and this was that spot. I have been looking forward to my appointment since I got an undercut 4 weeks ago and learned that only barbers are legally allowed to use razors. I was happy with the one I got from the stylist but was looking for a sharper cut that will hopefully last longer. Scheduling the appointment is super easy going to their website. You get email and text reminders to make sure you don't miss it. The place is easy to find even though there's a bunch of construction going on around the area. There is plenty of room to sit while you wait and tvs to watch. They did seem to be running behind schedule about 30 minutes. I had scheduled an hour for this and I'm Mexican (polychronic culture) so that doesn't bother me much but I can see how it might if you're on a tight schedule. Once it was my turn, I showed AG the picture of what I liked and I really liked that he put his own spin on it. He was very friendly and personable and I just love how good clippers feel on your head! No wonder men get haircuts regularly. It's like a scalp massage. I can definitely see why it's better to come to a barber. He used shaving gel and even put some aloe vera at the end to help with the irritation. I absolutely love my undercut! Ladies and gents! Coming from NYC, I like to think that my standards for a fresh cut are pretty high. However, I would often find myself dissapointed by the work of even those highly-touted NYC "celebrity barbers." I reached the point where I started to cut my own hair at home. I eventually moved back to Tulsa in the Fall of 2013. After I got my hair slaughtered at a Super Cuts, I knew my hair needed some help. I decided to give AG a shot after seeing some positive feedback on Facebook. My first appointment with AG was in Jan, 2014. At the time, he only had one chair for himself. I was very pleased with his craftsmanship and smooth detailing. I had a faux-hawk at the time, but with his guidance, transitioned into a hard part comb over. It suited me quite well. Since then, I've had countless haircuts at Black Label. I schedule most of my haircuts with AG, but I've also been pleased with the work of his associates Trey and Marco. I think one of their defining assets is their ability to work with hair of all cultures. You can expect to be treated like royalty there. I went to Black Label for the first time and was blown away not only by the haircut but also the character and hospitality by all the barbers. This place is family oriented. Family as in Family where everyone feels special regardless of age. Im 58 and a former College Basketball Coach.
