Men's grooming has seen a resurgence in recent years. Lots of places popping up that offer a full service experience rather than a quick cut with the good ol' boys, which aren't necessarily bad, but can leave one wanting. It's hard to review without being too comparative to the local tulsa mens groomer (pachyderm at a place) but here's the break down: Two packages: hair cut and shampoo or the executive ($55) which comes with paraffin, facial, hand and arm massage. Atmosphere has the old school barber look with wood panelling. Music is less dance party and more relaxation. It has more of a lounge feel than other places. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Only have one star bc I had to. The first stylists blades were so dull that my husband complained. When I quoted about it, the receptionist said it was an ongoing issue w that particular stylist. So, we were recommended to their best stylist, who sent my husband home yesterday bleeding from one side of his forehead to the other. Plz do not go there! Gees. I'm so glad they opened a Boardroom in Tulsa, it's a great place to get your haircut. I hate getting my haircut with the power of a 1000 suns, but I actually can tolerate it here (how's that for a glowing endorsement). It's a little on the expensive side for a haircut but for me, being able to make an appointment so you can come in, get your haircut and then get on with your day is awesome. The atmosphere is nice and the stylists are friendly. If you're familiar with the Elephant in the Room, the Boardroom is very similar. The key difference for me is the Boardroom is much more relaxing, both due to the atmosphere and the attitude of the staff. The Elephant in the Room has these memberships they are constantly pushing that I just wasn't interested in. Not so at the Boardroom. They do have memberships (a set mount that gets you unlimited haircuts), but their stylists aren't constantly turning conversations into a discussion about how you should get a membership. At the Boardroom they just want you to relax and concentrate on getting over your fear of letting someone else alter your physical appearance while you sit helplessly wearing a weird tarp around your neck. I just moved to town and had the worst experience here. The short browned haired receptionist was extremely crass with me when I came in to schedule an appointment. Wouldn't stop scrolling on her phone long enough to acknowledge me. Was super short and continued her conversation with her coworker. When she told me there was no open appointments for that day she rudely rolled her eyes at me. It was very unprofessional. I left and went to Elephant in the Room and got right in! read more

Had a great straight razor shave with Ethan today. This ain't your papas barber shop of yesterday. This upscale and very well appointed. I made an appointment and went in at the proper time. I was greeted and offered a complimentary drink (water, soda,coffee,beer.). I was able to pursue the full line of grooming and beard making maintenance products. They have great selection with various scents for different types and needs. The staff is polite and personable. Ethan was awesome. He was very fast and efficient. Very skilled. I was very pleased when Boardroom opened a shop in Tulsa. Hard to beat drinking a cold beer beer while you get a great haircut. Ask for Easton, Taylor or Shayna. Easton is thorough and meticulous. He is one of the best barbers in town. Taylor is little wild, but she gives a great cut. Shayna usually stays booked up but she's good if you can get in to see her. read more

My boyfriend decided to get his eyebrows waxed earlier today, but the woman who did them took off CONSIDERABLY more on one brow than the other. His beard trim was also very uneven. You would think that a professional would notice and fix it, but she did not. I would not recommend this place to others, and he's going somewhere dtomorrow to get it fixed. This is my favorite place to get my hair done. I have been going for about 2 months now. ANGIE is amazing and she's so nice! Everyone is. I have the Executive Membership. For $80/mon I get unlimited Benchmark cuts which includes the cut(of course), wash, hand dip, wash, scalp & hand massage that is all finished with styling. I go once a week and have nothing at all negative to say. Which I would be more than happy to do if the occasion called for it. Service goes a long way for me. Aside from an above expectation experience, the service they provide has been perfect so far. Highly recommend whether you get one cut at a time or have a standing appointment each week. They carry Jack Black and Bumble & Bumble. Very pleased so far. TIP: If you book from your phone make sure you either allow your location or enter your zip code/city. Otherwise the website can't detect where you are and defaults to an Arizona location since it is first alphabetically. I did that my first time not paying attention, but that was more my fault than anything. read more

During my last appointment as I showed up on time, the receptionist told me that the stylist would be with me shortly. After 10 min of waiting, I asked if the stylist was even in the building? The answer, No she was not, and would be here soon. When she finally showed up, she was not wearing a mask, even though there were signs on the door and counter requiring masks of all. Mind you there is a TULSA MASK REQUIREMENT ORDINANCE. She told me that she could NOT wear the mask because it "bothered" her. Well, too bad it bothers us all. Funny part is, there's a sign by the cash register imposing a $3.00 fee for "Health and Wellness" per haircut. So, let's do the math 4 stylists at 15 haircuts day equals 60 haircuts X $3 equals $180 perday X 30 days/month equals $5400 X 12 months equals $64,800 per year! Now, get this $64,800 per year X 41 stores/locations equals $2,656,800. Appears that Covid 19 can be lucrative for some business's? read more

Normally you get what you pay for. Not here. The "barbers" seem like they came from other generic franchises where you'd pay $12 for a cut. They are not proper barbers that love their craft and view it as an art. The decor here has a nice vibe. Shame that it's just a franchise without proper barbers. read more
