Only reason I gave 2 stars is cause the front desk guy was extremely nice and helpful, but once i got to the barber he was noticeably irritated from the start. Not helpful with my feedback of what i wanted cut , very little talking the whole cut other than KEEP YOUR HEAD still which maybe i was moving a little but his attitude was off the charts. Reading a review below which was similar to my experience he acted like my cut was a hassle when it was an easy trim up and some texturing. On the first round of asking if it was okay he barely snipped my hair and my back was still shaggy which i clearly stated I didn't want. The look on his face when i asked to cut it a little more in the back was hilarious. It's pretty hard to mess up my hair cause it's basically a fuzz ball but bro straight up gave me an edgar cut. They cooked my ahh 50 dollars for bum cut "Elephant in the Room" is easily one of the worst places you could ever trust for a haircut. the barbers there act like they're doing you a favor just by showing up. They don't listen to what you want -- they freestyle with the clippers like it's open mic night. I asked for a simple trim, and they straight up cooked my ahh like I was dinner. Uneven lines, random . I left looking like I lost a bet. The vibe inside is fake classy too -- overpriced, underdelivered. If you value your head, stay far away. read more

Terrible customer service. The receptionists are nice enough, though the management and leadership doesn't seem to care about their customers. I was sold into a $41/month package that I was paying for some time, probably 5-6 months, always had a decent experience though it was kind of 50/50 with each cut if I wasn't able to get placed with my favorite barbers. In fact, I find it kind of weird that they don't automatically try and place you with your favorite barber as that would definitely improve retention in my eyes as a business owner. I digress. The $41/month package to me was sold as "I could come in every day" if I wanted. I was only just told in my last cut however that I would be charged another $41 because I was 3 days out from my monthly charge, and nobody had ever told me that before. So I cancelled my membership after my last cut, which was yesterday. The cut I received was rushed, because again, there were miscommunications with the person I scheduled with that it was a "cleanup" and not a "cut", and I had never been told by anyone what a "cleanup" technically meant, I was coming in to get my sides and back shaved, which I naively assumed was a cleanup. In any case, I called in last night after I left to schedule them to fix the haircut, because there wasn't time to actually do a good cut (because it was meant to be a "cleanup"). I was grateful they got me in anyway, so I didn't make a fuss about it as I knew they were backed up. So I left a voicemail last night and they called me back this morning to schedule it in. I scheduled it in and communicated that it was to fix the cut from yesterday because there wasn't ample time for my cut then. I guess the call center did not communicate with the location though because when I showed up they did not seem to know what was going on. They refused to fix the haircut unless I paid another $41. Which is the only reason I'm leaving this review. Giselle who was a nice girl running the front counter apparently spoke to "several" managers to try and get it approved. But it was not approved. However, when I asked who the managers were she said she was the manager, which tells me unfortunately she was either lying about that, or she was being deceptive in pretending that it was out of her hands and not her call to make. Either way, it's crazy to me that this is the way this business does business. The bar is low for aspiring barbershop owners. read more

Been doing to Dani for almost 3 years. I've been going to elephant in the room for over four years. I first went during Covid when a lot of hair places were not open or limited hours or they were forcing you to wear a mask. I went through a couple of different ones the first few months just whoever ever happened to be available whenever I set my appointment. And then I got dani and she did a really great job. She offered some feedback on what I was wanting to do and helped style it even better. And so I have been coming to her ever since. I get this is a hair place so you're going to come across hairstylist that maybe they just don't do a good job or maybe they just don't do the styling the way you like it. But the great thing is here. There are many different stylists you can try different ones . There's also a location at 91st and Yale and there's one in broken arrow so you can always try a different one. I encourage you to check out DANI. And see if she doesn't do a great job read more

Well, I cannot say enough positive things about the Elephant in the Room hair salon, South Boston here in Tulsa. The model and the approach is brilliant, but more importantly, it's customer focused and delivers enormous value. It starts with a dollar for your first haircut, and with the haircut you get a choice of 2 to 3 additional services, like a neck, shave, face, and or scalp massage. My stylist Amanda is lights out. She does a great job and has me in and out of there in less than 25 minutes. My favorite part is the the phone/appointment service with text reminders. I was a little skeptical of the subscription service, but it works and having a regular scheduled appointment and follow up reminders and the additional services makes it a no-brainer. Give them a shot. Seriously for a dollar you can't afford not to ...They're awesome. read more

I have medium-long hair and she proceeded to give me a buzzcut and said "I hope that's what you wanted." Um, no but it's too late now isn't it?? If I wanted a buzzcut I would've done it myself and not spent $50 on one. Not to mention, this was after booking an appointment for 10:30 and they let multiple WALK INS go ahead of me since it was their first time. What exactly was the point of booking in advance? Love Eitr, been going to their south Boston location for a couple years. I won't tell you my stylist for the same reason a fisherman won't tell you where his honey hole is, but she's awesome. My only complaint is their scheduling software online isn't very mobile friendly, but once you get used to it, it's OK. Or you can make an appointment over the phone or at the shop. Certain days are add on days so you get extra free service. Always a cold drink. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but quit your whining and go to SuperCuts for a cheap (and cheap looking) cut from a different trainee each time if that's your thing. Nobody's forcing you to go to a nicer shop. 5/5 even with mobile booking issue. read more

I started out as a $1 first time haircut. They are very prompt each time I've come. I've had a great experience every time. It's taken a couple of times to find someone here to get my cut 100% right. I think it helped to bring in a picture. It wasn't something that I was really used to do - searching the internet for the hair style I wanted - but I do think it helped seal the deal. Overall great place yes it costs more than other places but you do get more for your money. If you still have your doubts just make sure to come in more than once a month to make worth the money. read more

I've been looking for a place like this since I moved to Tulsa. I love walking into EITR and knowing that my barber/stylist is going to make me look my best. After my first hair & beard trim my barber took down the information we had talked about and logged the look we were going to cultivate. It was going to take several months to reach that look and so that she didn't lose sight of our vision she put down the details into my account. My second visit I was a bit surprised to find that I was meeting with a different stylist. I was happily surprised to find that she had all of the notes from my first meeting and I really didn't have to re-explain what we had covered in my first meeting and the introduction period was brief. I have had two great cuts here and the look I am hoping to create is coming along nicely with their help. In addition to getting a great cut in a clean and comfortable environment I love the add-ons that come with my membership. It really is a great way to relax, get pampered a bit and feel like a new man when you hit the road after a session. This is definitely a "Best of Tulsa" establishment. They get no stars for being pretentious, offering services they aren't staffed to provide, telling you to wait 2 hours for a haircut when they have 5 chairs, 5 barbers and no customers. Well the location at 91st and yale has gone down hill rapidly. The turn over has been beyond crazy. I hear from the girls that had been working there for some time the owner has dumped the pay down to the girls big time. They used to get 35% then they opened the broken arrow store and he lowered there pay to 30%,and if you are a new girl now he i only giving them 20%. That is so greedy on the ownership!!!!! Well They have even narrowed the appt time down to 30 minutes to get you in and out what a sham. You would think if you are the owner and seeing whats going on you would fix it, oh and by the way stop calling me and offering me a 5.00 hair curt, even if it was free i would never go back their. GREED WILL BE YOUR DEMISE!!!! I would stay well away from there if you can a real nitemare there. read more

Pros: A very cool and hospitable place for men to get a haircut. The shop is tastefully decorated with a vintage/industrial aesthetic that compliments the lounge experience. A good selection of beer and a couple of gaming consoles are available to pass the time. Cons: Disappointing corporate management that has little interest in their customers. No efficient way other than email to have grievances addressed or refunds made. There is an "phone operator" who would gladly refer you to use the email address for any issue. (???) Me, personally, I decided to cancel my membership. My membership kept getting charged for over two months before I changed my bankcard to keep these guys from charging me. Requested a refund. Nothing. Requested my membership to be cancelled. No cancellation was made. To boot, the shop has become more of a "drive thru" type shop; i.e: Cut as many hairstyles in one day as possible. The barbers I've been with have all been extremely friendly, courteous, and welcoming. However, in two haircuts, my hair weight lines where all over the place. I felt like I was being rushed out the door rather than being taken care of like I am now at my new stylist. I put the blame solely on corporate for sacrificing quality, customer care to maximize their profits and passing the buck onto the shop staff because they make an easy target. Not what it used to be. They used to be a cool place to get a nice men's cut. I used to have a membership until rates went too high. I recommended them to my whole fraternity but won't recommend it anymore. They have expanded too much too quickly and have lost touch with who they once were. I can get a much better and cheaper cut at other places at places like Razors Edge, The Men's Groom Room, Z Studio, and Michael Brothers. Went for a $1 haircut at their new location. She consulted then faced me towards the TV. When I saw her cut it looked like I had a yamaka on top of my head. My part was almost to the centerline of my head. When cutting and washing, the stylists were gossiping about each other like they would at any other salon. A new assistant was being trained. She started that day and they were already talking about her. Bless he heart. As I got home, I pulled out my own clippers and gave myself a buzz cut. Looked much better and was free. read more

Elephant in the Room is consistently awesome. You are definitely getting a great bang for your buck. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, drinks when you arrive. They pamper you but it's not snooty. I hate having little pieces of hair all over your shirt after you get a haircut but they always wash your hair after the deed is done. You have lots of menu options, like beard trimming, straight razor shaving, and even paraffin hand waxing, which is surprisingly relaxing and leaves your hands smooth and smelling awesome, all in manly way, of course. I give myself an hour when I go here for a haircut but they'll speed it up if you need. As you walk around Tulsa, you can tell who else went to Elephant in the Room - it's a distinctive cut and style (in a good way). read more
