My two sisters and both of my parents received tattoos from another artist, nicknamed "Melon", and they were overjoyed at the results. Nervous and unsure what to expect, I came in to Aztlan tattoo with a loose vision of a lemon branch on my shoulder. With patience, skill, and efficiency, Rafael helped me perfect the design and placement. My nerves quickly faded and I completely trusted in Rafael's artistic abilities and creative vision. He finished my tattoo in 2.5 hours, coaching the other artists on the techniques he was using along the way. I was so overjoyed with the result that I could've cried tears of joy!!! I chatted with a young couple and was then we were ready. OMG it hurt like hell! I have tattoos but this hurt. He was very gentle and explained more of the procedure and aftercare. I explained my "wellness" vacation and getting my nose pierced was on it. We laughed about other types of piercings. He was super down to earth so I was very comfortable. The fee was 400 pesos about $19. I tipped him 10 US. I always get confused, hope I tipped well as it was a great experience even with the pain. As I left we hugged and he wished me well on my journey.

Sly is an incredibly talented trustworthy artist with an exceptionally clean shop. The hygiene practices here are better than many shops I've seen in the states, and I've never worried for my health or safety. Sly has a very gentle hand and incredible detail. He's currently working on my right arm sleeve and I couldn't be happier with his work. GeeFunk is the other artist currently working at Soulflower. I've seen his work and it's amazing as well. Both are fluent in English and use the best products on the market. This is the only place I'll go for tattoos and I'd follow Sly all over the world if I had to!

Mr Miyagi's has several tattoo artists, a cozy entry area, and a Chihuahua who thinks he owns the place. GF is an artist and felt immediately at home with the two artists who came out to speak with us. They began sharing work and she was able to find a design she wanted fairly quickly. While we were there, another customer (dude from jersey) came in who could not stop telling us how wonderful this place is. He showed us 14 tattoos he'd gotten there, all of which were clean and of high quality. He seemed to have a thing with one of the artists, and told us we were invited to the wedding haha :). Ahh, PV! We set the appointment for the day we leave since she couldn't swim or be in the sun for a few days after. Alan was great to work with, patient with resizing the design, and his work is clean and detailed. GF is super happy with the result! First not knowing the area and second we're in a foreign country which makes it ultra difficult. Keeping my hair and beard neatly trimmed is a must, within a two week period my beard will grow 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, my hair just as fast. My wife agreed to my growing of the beard only if I kept it in check. Being of Italian decent my thick black hair, now silver gray keeps growing at a fast pace.

And he gave hubby a flawless beard-trim as well. I enjoyed the cool air-conditioning while I waited, and got to watch a gentleman getting a tattoo done by an extremely talented artist. Hubs got a bit restless as the cut/beard-trim took a bit longer this time but when he was done, he legit looked like he stepped out of GQ magazine. The barbers here know their stuff -- the fades, trims, beards -- all of it. Ladies, you'll never have to worry if your man will look amazing after a visit to Barberó, and men, your hair will look flawless!
