He loved it so much he went back for two massages during the trip, both with the same guy. The Wellness Room was riding high in our vacation memories - a little oasis of relaxation. Naturally, we decided to squeeze in one more visit before heading home. And oh, how the mighty fell. On January 7, 2025, at 4 PM, I returned with high hopes and was assigned to the second room. At first, everything seemed fine - standard setup, decent technique - but then the mood shifted. As I lay there, blissfully unaware and teetering on the edge of sleep, the masseur apparently assumed I'd drifted off completely. That's when things got weird. I heard faint movement in the corner of the room where my clothes and bag were stored. Initially, I thought he was fetching more oil (which, for the record, was stored elsewhere). But then I heard the unmistakable zzzzip of my bag being opened. My bag, by the way, contained a gift: a pocketwatch-style metal locket filled with miniature dice for tabletop RPGs. It makes a very distinct rattling sound when moved. A sound I heard loud and clear. At that moment, I began to stir, and the guy bolted like he'd just realized I was rolling a Nat 20 on perception. He left the door wide open in his hurry to make his daring escape. A few moments later, he returned, all casual-like, claiming he wasn't finished massaging my back. Uh, sure, buddy. I let him finish the massage, but any semblance of relaxation was gone. I was on high alert, mentally cataloging every item in my bag. The moment he was done, I checked my belongings. Sure enough, there were greasy handprints on the zipper, evidence of his attempted sleight of hand. What could have been another stellar experience turned into a mix of incredulity, distrust, and lingering disappointment. The Verdict: The Wellness Room is a tale of two extremes. One visit left me glowing with satisfaction, the other left me clutching my belongings like I was Frodo in Mordor. My advice? Stick to the front room masseur - he's a pro and a class act. As for the second room... well, let's just say you might want to invest in a lock for your bag and cast Detect Magic before entering. Would I recommend it? Cautiously, yes. I went in with three friends for 90 minute massages, and we all left very happy. My masseur was Juan. I asked for a firm massage and he delivered. Every muscle was worked in my back, my shoulders, my forearm, my legs, my feet. he was attentive, professional, and very kind. Both my friends were also thrilled. I made my reservation through WhatsApp and it was super easy. They responded within 5 to 10 minutes of my reaching out and we book same-day massages. Please be sure to tip well. This is technically a 2 for one review. A truly relaxing and therapeutic massage. My husband had a medium pressure 1 hour massage and I I had a deep pressure massage of 1 hour. We both came out of there relaxed and feeling better then we had this entire trip. I would recommend this place to anyone asking for a real massage. The guys are nice and they did not feel rushed or try to pressure you into more services or a longer massage. The technique was on point and the pressure was perfect. Booked through Facebook and they responded within a span of an hour (forgot there was a 2 hour time different from SF, so they responded first thing in the morning, an hour before it opened). Booking an appointment is very easy to do. However, since it's very popular as a professional spot with attractive and skilled male therapists, they do run out time slots quickly. Very solid. After checking out the neighborhood, at 600 pesos for a 60 min relaxation, it's well worth it. The rooms and well lit, beautifully decorated, and the entire thing is a great experience. If you need to, they have a shower in the bathroom (and please be courteous and take one for the sake of the therapists... though I'm sure most of the gays already know and follow that protocol.) read more

What can I say.... Just the best massage over had on a long long time! I've been here Three years ago and forgot how great of a job the masseuses Here are!! Cesar was attentive and asked before beginning if I had any injuries and worked on my right leg where I had issues after a serious motorcycle accident with scar tissue and numbness. He made sure to work that part of my body on my leg as well as give me a deep tissue massage tackling all my nots and tension in my body. I just wish I had come here earlier than during my seven day vacation since I just got a massage on the day I'm traveling back home. The price is a very cost competitive compared to the high-end spas. The facility is clean, everyone wearing mask air-conditioned and definitely much better than getting a massage on the beach. Wow. I just got the best message of my life here. My partner and I went in for a "couples" massage and got the best treat of our vacation. I believe they can only handle 2 people at a time in 2 separate rooms. The entire business is quite small and located in El Centro de Puerto Vallarta. Juan was my masseuse and my partner had Kevin. I was referred to THE WELLNESS ROOM by a local friend for a truly professional massage. Cesar the owner booked me with Juan as I requested deep tissue with strong hands. It was a full 90 minutes of very well trained, methodical, strong and intentional flowing massage. This included the stretching and extra pressure which is effective for me. This was one of the best massages I've ever had. It was truly professional and very effective. Juan's flowing touch and strokes were enough to manipulate and relax all my points of stress. (They clearly accept credit cards) The OWNER pulls out a small piece of paper from the desk that says credit cards incur a 16% surcharge. SIXTEEN PERCENT?!?!? And the massage I had at Wellness Room was among the very, very best. Saul gave me an awesome body scrub followed by a 90 minute deep tissue with perfect pressure. The facility is clean and well decorated, quite different from most of the others in the area that I've seen. They also happily accept Visa, however you will need to have cash on hand for tips. Because they took Visa (unlike most of the other massage places in the area), I was able to splurge with a body scrub. No need to go any further for an awesome massage! This be the place! read more

This is the most expensive of the walk up massage places I have noticed in the area. That said an hours massage was still only 600 pesos so about 30 bucks. I think there is a reason its more to. For one, unlike a lot of places it has air conditioning from the tiny waiting area and in the rooms. Yes rooms not curtained off areas they have a large well decorated rooms. Inside the rooms are plush massage tables with clean, new looking sheets. There is a nice shelf area set up for your things. The entire place feels new, clean and modern. Not to mention thoughtfully laid out and well decorated. They gave me a bottle of cold water to drink while I waited. (no appointment and I didn't wait more then a few minutes) and I was led back for my massage. It was good with elements of aromatherapy. In all it was a great stop on the way back from the beach. I was looking for a full body massage because I haven't had one in a while and figured it would be a great thing to do while on vacation. Also, my legs were sore from all the walking and my shoulder has been bothering me for a while. Two of my friends decided to join me for their own full body massages. Our hotel is near a lot of places offering messages, so I took to Yelp and Google to look at reviews. The Wellness Room was highly recommended and happened to be across the street from our hotel, so we went there. The reviews are true...this is by far one of the most upkept, clean and inviting environments of all the spas that we walked past. We all did the 60 minute traditional relaxation full body massage. I had Chris and one of my friends had Tito. I forgot the name of the third massuer. They were very professional and talented massuers. We are definitely going back for a 2nd session before we leave Puerto Vallarta. The 60 min full body was $600 pesos (less than $40 USD)...such a good deal coming from Los Angeles! read more

Wow Tito gave me the most amazing hour massage. I had checked out other places in pvr Alas, they were just rubs. Tito gave the best Swedish massage I've ever had. That's a tall order since I've had massages since I've been 16. The a/c, aromatherapy and moisture spritz are just what I needed. My only recommendation is that they wipe the massage oils off with warm towels so that you are not walking down the street extra oily after the massage. They do have a showe that I should have asked to use but the massage had me in a trance I didn't care until after I left. I went to the Wellness Room yesterday for a massage... I hadn't been there yet on this trip to PV. I was quite pleased to see my favorite guy Leo working and he was available when I arrived. He immediately excused himself to setup the room for our massage. When I walked back into the spa I was totally amazed at all the changes that had occurred since my last visit. Gone were the fabric curtains that divided the cabins - and now there were walls and doors. The walls are probably 6 feet high and provide a much greater sense of privacy from what was previously there the first year the spa was open. Also, the restroom/shower room/sink area was completely remodeled in a much more finished/designer fashion. What a huge change. I recommend wholeheartedly the Wellness Room... the guys are great. the place is topnotch.. and you will have a really relaxing beautiful experience. read more

I had an excellent massage by Juan. I had had a massage a few days before at a different establishment that was just OK. Juan's massage was far superior. He had a good touch and sensed the tightness in my shoulders and neck and was able to provide much needed relief. The massage rooms are very comfortable and relaxing. The only reason I'm not rating this a five-star experience is that Juan isn't the friendliest of people. It would have been nice if he had introduced himself at the beginning (I only learned his name afterwards) and if had let me know when the massage had ended, rather than just leaving the room. As I was leaving, I paid for the massage at the reception area and handed Juan a 25% tip. He took the money and didn't even thank me. I passed by The Wellness Room a few hours after the massage and tried to say hello, but he didn't seem to recognize me. read more
