Absolute worst customer service I've ever had in my entire life. WASTE OF MONEY!!!! They have NO parking and the area has no where to park. I spent over an hour calling them to get advice on where to park. After spending over $100 for my family to go on the ship my husband ended up dropping us off and letting us go without him. They refused to even issue a refund for his ticket. I don't know what the lazy wenches at the front get paid to do but it's certainly not to answer phones, be polite, or help customers. I will absolutely never spend a penny with this company again. Terrible experience. The actors on the boat were TERRIBLE. They spend the whole time singing and they have some of the worst voices I've ever heard. The pirate dinner show in Orlando has considerably better actors not to mention way better customer service. They do not indicate on their site that they don't have parking. TOTAL RIPOFF. Do.not.spend.money.here. read more

Bought a Groupon for a family of 4. The Groupon specifically stated that it could either be printed or shown to the proprieter in electonic format. So, I decided not to print it. Well, we almost didn't get on the ship because they insisted on having a printed copy, despite knowing that the Groupon says otherwise. I said fine and left, which they were happy to let me do. Another family member went back and fought with them about it and 10 minutes later they let me use their computer to log in to Groupon.com and print my Groupon. I wonder how many other people they have turned away without offering them the same courtesy. Anyway, things were fine when we finally got on the ship. The pirates were cute and sang songs that entertained the kids. They offered free face painting. Some of the pirate jokes were a tad bit raunchy, but went over the heads of the young kids. The adults were bored, but the kids had a good time, and that is all that matters. My daughter is still singing the pirate songs two days later. read more

I bought tickets through living social and we took my son for his birthday. We went 2 weeks early because I am having back surgery on Monday and wouldnt be able to go on the ship after that. What a nightmare! !! My son will be 13 in 2 weeks so still being 12 he should have gotten a child's ticket. He is autistic and i explained the situation when we checked in but the lady argued with me when we talked to her after the trip and she was very nasty. On the ship my disabled child was flat out denied a sword that was promised in the ad to which he was most looking forward to- to participate in the fight with Captain Hook. He was also flat out denied the share of the so called "pirate treasure" that was also promised and it was all because some dark haired lady that had a bad , extremely nasty attitude. My son spent half the trip on the deck crying. As a parent I am so angered. I honestly wouldnt spend a penny putting on this place. I cant even relate how disappointed we all were. read more

We took our 4 year old nephew on the ship. We had a great time. It was very entertaining. Worth the cost, all the kids and adults seemed to have a great time. Highly recommended. read more

This is the post I left on their Facebook page and pretty much reviews my thoughts on them: "Glad you had such a great time on the 14th because we had a miserable time on the 15th. We booked the night time adult cruise back in October planning it as part of our celebration for our anniversary. One hour before sailing time a message was left on my wife's cell phone that it had been canceled due to the fact we were the only people booked. With nothing as a backup we wound up walking the outlet mall as something to do for our anniversary. Thanks so much for the great memory! I'm sure you folks had an idea that you might be canceling for the reason you did much earlier between the time we booked and when you canceled one hour before sailing and could have given a heads up so we could have made a decision to cancel ourselves and made alternate plans, but no, you held us up until the last minute hoping for more bookings and didn't want to lose the one you already had. On top of this you had the audacity to ask if we'd like to re-book? After the way you ruined our anniversary you should have had the decency to refund AND offer a free re-booking! By the way, this wasn't the first time we booked with you, we booked a daytime cruise with our daughter and grand kids back in late May. Sailing time came and we had all boarded and after 20 minutes we were told the ship had mechanical issues and we could re-book another time. Imagine the disappointment of all the children. We did however understand and that's why we booked again, but after 2 bookings and 2 letdowns we probably wouldn't book again and would advise anyone else booking with you to have back-up plans and not count on you, because if you canceled both times we booked with you odds are this happens quite often." read more

"Arghh, we're pirates," he replied, not really meaning it. A young woman laughed along nervously as the "volunteer" for a rope cutting trick that somehow involved her bending over in front of a different pirate as he simulated sex with her for everyone's entertainment. For me, it was painful to watch, excruciating to be trapped on the boat, and many in the crowd were visibly uncomfortable. Each song's lyrics were more degrading than the last and the skit with the woman actor onboard was so demeaning my boyfriend tried to express his sympathy to her afterward for having to endure it every night. Does anybody actually enjoy the 21 and over cruise? As other reviews said, the ship barely leaves harbor so there's nothing to see and paying for overpriced watered down drinks in addition to the cost of admission is certainly not worth it. Please get rid of the misogynistic obsolete pirate behavior on this ship and the "adult" version of the cruise at night. Clean up the content for the kids (one review mentioned racist jokes, come on Black Raven) and find a better way to support the venture other than taking advantage of unsuspecting visitors and female staff. #TimesUpNow read more

3.5 stars. 4 star for kids, 3 for adults. This is good for young kids (10 and under IMO). The staff did a good job of keeping things upbeat and engaging for all.....they did not mail it in. Alcohol is available for the parents. i think one of the pirates was on meth, but he drove the enemy pirate ship, so had little interaction in the night. Overall the family had a good time read more

The weather was stormy so I called The black raven rep. He said "this is Florida and it always rains... Excursion would not be cancelled..." I was also told that I would lose my money if I cancelled. They said I would receive a call if they couldn't take the ship out. Well at the time of the scheduled trip I went to the marina and found it closed! Not a person in sight-customer or store clerk and the ship was docked!!! I never received notification that the excursion was cancelled and drive 40 minutes each way for nothing. Now I have to make sure those modern day PIRATES don't charge my credit card! What an unprofessional way to run a business...not to mention the fact that this brings tourism down for St. Augustine. The Black Raven sure looks like a great ship to ride and have fun on. Think again people. The workers are rude and Don't know what they are doing! My family and I were all ready to go on the 2:15 PM tour. I'm a local so of course I know about, I just haven't had the time to check it out. So I go online and find a discount for a family of 4 plus one. I call the business just to get a little more information. I talk to the lady and we work everything out and she has all my information and she says she understands and everything is fine. So we get there and its the same woman at the desk. She says that our discount was fr the 4:15 PM tour. She told us that she had no idea what we are talking about and she was very rude about it as well. If you want my opinion, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN ON THIS TOUR. IT'S TERRIBLE!!!! read more

Before I fault the actual tour, I'll take partial blame for not fully reviewing the itinerary for a Thursday night. It was this lack that ultimately caused me to feel like I was in an amateur musical. Evidently even the final crusade of the day is dedicated to family entertainment. The adult only trips take place on Friday and Saturdays. That said, there was a bar, but my husband nor I were willing to sacrifice enough booty to get enough alcohol to cope with everything turning in to a song. At $9 for a cup of ice with a splash of rum and just a tad more coke- these 2 pirates were just gonna have to walk the plank and sit through cheesy pirate jokes until we ran ashore. Ultimately, we found somewhat of a hiding place on an upper deck and watched the little kids with poorly painted faces engage with the staff pirates with pool noodle swords. This is the point where my husband and I vowed to do a bit more research on these types of adventures and to make sure I'm never late taking my birth control. As the farewell song ended and they began allowing us off the boat, we gave a quick aye aye captain to the lead entertainer and nearly ran down the deck like we'd stolen their treasure. If you aren't sure if you want to go and are still thinking peg legs and eyepatches might be your thing, turn on Pirates of The Caribbean and Frozen at the same time, invite over about 10 kids and give it a go. Should you survive, arrrr me matey and climb aboard the Black Raven and sail the ship about 100 yards into the sea for your hook hand adventure. read more

TOURIST TRAP! Check-in - I was berated for having a Redbull in my hands and continually talked down to about how I cannot have liquor in their store or they will lose their license - it was Redbull in a cup with ice and a straw - not beer or liquor. If I was buying my ticket and not checking in - I would NEVER have continued with spending my money with this company. And they yelled at the line waiting to check in - that they were too loud and couldn't hear their 'costumers' - weren't we all costumers???The boat was late on the return for us to load up so we waited 45 mins+/- to get on the boat - with no chairs, food, drinks, etc. There was only one bartender for at least 80+ drinkers(boat limit is 127, so could have been more) - Pretty poor planning. The food was served buffet style - not a buffet - and you were given a very cheap paper plate and then you had to eat in in your lap - no tables and not many seats- and then the food wasn't even good. The pirates lost interest in preforming pretty early on - which was a shame- so it turned into a sober booze cruise - not fun at all. The lie that if you interact more they will is just that - A lie. The adult part of the cruise is only that they take every opportunity to be vulgar and curse, just to curse - very distasteful. Wishing for my money and time back. read more
