Upon our arrival we found a very small busy stand that serves only one flavor twist that changes daily and today's flavor was Vanilla/Chocolate Twist. The line moved very quickly and this is a cash only stand. The Ice Cream was OK, not much different than any other Ice Cream Stand I've had before. Cool little nostalgic type stand but not something I'd drive out of my way for again.

I was looking for things to make a Russian New Years celebration feel more at home and they had all sorts of things: like traditional black bread, red caviar, smoked herring, deli meats, pickled mushrooms and more! They had frozen desserts and entrees as well from Poland, Russia and other Eastern European countries. I do wish they had some more prepared pre-made salads that one could purchase by the pound, but the son of the shop owner was very helpful in explaining the products as he worked the register. If you're a local to the area, you now have a new Eastern European market to check out! I hope you're able to find some great gems as I was!

They only have 6 or so tables, food is served on paper plates with sturdy plastic cutlery and plastic/paper cups, but if you can look past that it's well worth eating there. They also make their own baked goods (again always yummy). We stop every year we come to this area just for the French toast. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed. I have personally sent 8 people there for breakfast (just make sure of the hours and days they're open), no one has ever comeback disappointed. Really wish I could give them more than 5 stars!!

Those sticky buns were calling my name every day but I resisted the urge. Before we left Lake Placid we decided to come grab some local cheese before heading home and we were so glad we did. Cheese was a nice room temperature when we got back to Boston and we had large samples of all 3 cheeses, truffle falls, maple cheddar, and dutch knuckle. They were all great but the dutch knuckle was our absolute favorite. The truffle falls and dutch knuckle came from their odd ends basket in their fridge section. Service was friendly and efficient and offered to have their cheese expert come out and tell us about all the different cheeses, cut us samples, and help us pick the right one for us. This was almost as if I were making a major life decision with my cheese purchase. This place's popularity is going to continue to grow and should be around for a long time to come.
