My first time visiting Vermont. I have to say this was a great stop and we got some tasty cheese and of course maple syrup. They have free tasting for the syrup, and I suggest tasting them all. We took back the dark syrup as it was the best and you can't get it in stores where I live. Service was friendly and fast. We ordered gifts for our friends as the prices are very reasonable. They have all kinds of meats as well and other delicious items. We will be back.

Cheese, Syrup, Wine - oh my! Dakin Farm is like the Disneyland of Vermont, a place where taste buds dance and dreams come true. You can make a free meal out of all of the different samples displayed across the store, you can stock up on flannel jammies and local wines, cheeses, and of course, maple in any shape or form you could possibly imagine. My family stopped here on an impromptu drive through a very rural area of Vermont, and we easily spent over an hour exploring the store, sampling the goodies, and photographing the beautiful scenery. This is the place to find unique souvenirs and holiday gifts. Even if you're not a tourist, this is a great spot to support local business and stock up on quality eats and spreads - sure to make any snack or meal a winner. The staff was lovely, and they definitely don't oversell or pressure their customers - their goods sell themselves. I'd highly recommend the blackberry/ maple froyo swirl. It's a incredible combo - the highlight of the many ice creams I ate on this trip. I don't see how you could leave Dakin Farm disappointed. It's a true gem.

Love, the COB SMOKED GOUDA AND MAPLE HORSERADISH MUSTARD! I used them both in my Easter Dinner Preparations for 2020! Happy Easter....and thank you for keeping things delicious!

We stopped here on our way out of Vermont for some Vermont souvenirs and maple syrup and cheese. It was definetely a tourist trap and the prices reflected that! Even so, it was super cute and clean and the employees were incredibly friendly. I was happy to get things for my loved ones to show them where I have been. The fresh fudge counter was so cute. I also appreciated the variety in the displays of meats and cheeses they seemed very well thought out. Half the store is just maple syrup and that's awesome.

I stopped here when passing by on Rt 7. It's a very nice store. They have the maple syrup making facility connected to it. I think the employee was making fudge there on site too. The "kitchens" were not open to customers, but they were visible. They carry their own maple syrup of course. And maple candy, fudge, cookies and more. There was local bacon and other meats, some with samples. Some jams. Some chocolate bars. Even some cheese. If you arrive here not hungry there are t-shirts and some other clothing items you can browse. This is a tourist stop, but when I was there plenty of locals picking up some meats and cheeses too. Easy parking.

Fantastic farm shop! This road side farm stand beckoned us in with their red barn and giant maple syrup bottle out front. And the moment I stepped in I knew we did well to stop. Wow! So much goodies! You can get everything from maple syrup (duh!) to cured meats and sausages, various cheeses and jellies and even other home made sweet and savory treats. It is amazing! And they have plenty of samplers around so we practically bought everything we tried. And guess what? They ship anywhere in the US! So this is going to be on my back pocket for any potential holiday gifting or even just for ourselves in case we are craving Vermont flavors. Highly recommended!

I honestly don't know if there is enough I can say about how much I love Dakin Farm. There are times we come here twice a day during our yearly summer trips to Vermont. The farm is located off of Route 7 in North Ferrisburgh. Its an adorable building divided into about 3 or 4 sections including an area for Maple Syrup, meats and SO MANY cheeses, Jams, Jellys, Honey, freshly made fudge and peanut butter. There are dips, popcorn, maple candies, and I could go on. Not to mention there are samples of EVERYTHING! I have to admit, we have had "lunch" at the Dakin Farm sample extravaganza before. Dakin carries both their own brand of meats and cheese, but also supplies items from local farms and businesses as well. Like Cabot, the Charlotte Village Winery, etc... Meat: We regularly purchase the Kabanos (and extra long skinny sausage that is meant to eat sort of like slim jams), the bacon, and maple breakfast sausages. Everything was AMAZING! The prices are a little higher than a grocery store but thats what you get for farm fresh! Cheese: (I'm only going to review the Dakin Farm made cheese). They have a cob smoked cheddar cheese that is out of this world! There is gouda, swiss, and an extra sharp premium cheddar as well. The cob smoked cheddar is my absolute favorite. You can get it in a regular bar or coated in wax. We also way buy the regular for our stay here, then get a few wax to bring back to Florida. I have so many favorites that I will probably have to look in my pantry and update this review. The staff here is always very friendly but not overly engaged. There is a good reason too; they all appear to be working behind the register. But honestly, everything is pretty self explanatory unless you need a fresh cut of their deli meat or some fudge (Which is amazing and made fresh everyday!)

We received a "breakfast" gift and it was delicious - pancake mix, real maple syrup, can of blueberries.

Came with our Vermont Italian Culture Club for Agricola's monthly Sunday Lunch. It's as copious as…read moretheir dinners and you practically roll away just as well fed. The menu changes monthly, so this is what we had, but your menu will differ. We started with the variety of Italian in-house made charcuterie. Delightful, thin slices of cured meat that cannot be found better locally. That was followed with tartelettes of cheese. Warm, creamy cheese custard in a small pie shell. Our third course was Crostini stuffed with lamb, pork, beets and goat cheese. I really liked this combination, as did the others at our table. Fourth was Cannelloni with ground pork, tomato sauce and bechamel. Delicate and tasty handmade pasta stuffed with the meat and sauce. Fifth was Porchetta (pork stuffed with...pork). How can you not like pork inside pork? This was served as different cuts of tender, roasted pork plus a side of heirloom tomatoes in balsamic vinegar. For dessert, we had a light and fluffy lemon cake. I'd brought a bottle of limoncello from my favorite distillery in West Virginia (@BloomerySweetshine) to share and it paired well. Ale and her companions are always a delight. It's well worth the experience.

How does one begin to review a place when the experience is beyond words?…read more I suppose that I can start by saying that the dinner at Agricola Farm can be described as no less than a physical and intellectual journey. I mean it. I have never experienced something like this in my life- and I have even eaten in Italy! The adventurous evening stars around 5:30PM. Dinner club members (you can purchase a membership on the Farm website- but remember to get it in advance) meet in the main farm house and excitedly introduce themselves to each other. Once everyone has gathered, Ale- she does all the butchering of the animals herself!, takes us all around the farm. She shows us the sheep, the pigs, and of course, the chickens. The atmosphere is one that clearly evidences a strong relationship between growing the animals for food, and yet, at the same time, giving them a loving home. I can honestly tell you that I have never seen happier animals before. Ale really has a way with them and when you visit, ask her to demonstrate her sheep call- she's got that packed down! After the farm tour, we were all seated in the double farm style living room. Most of the guests came in pairs. I came alone. Was it awkward? It was anything but. I strongly recommend going alone the first time that you go so that you can really experience the environment for yourself. Step out side of your comfort zone and you will be surprised at who you can meet. I was seated at a table with some fascinating folks and the dinner discussion ranged from how amazingly delicious the food was, to our hopes and dreams. I can honestly tell you that we all entered this farm house dinner as strangers and left as friends. The fist part of the meal, the Antipasto was served sometime after 6PM. With a view of the kitchen and the chef, the wait for the next fix (Primo) was suspenseful (in a good way!). The food that was served was unlike anything I have ever had. It was literally some of the best food I have ever tasted. After the Primo came the Insalata, Secondo, Dolce, and finally the Digestivi- each dinner club features 5 courses but they vary based on the theme. The theme of this dinner was Ear to Tail so we actually had the pleasure of trying every part of the pig; a pate made of pig's heart, some pig's tongue, some crispy pig's ear, and even the meat around the pig's jaw! Though it can sound off putting, I swear to you up and down that all of it was soooo good, sooo fresh, and so well flavored. All of the food was prepared fresh by Chef RIchard Witting and Ale right in front of our eyes. Between the different courses, dinner chat, and Ale's descriptions of all the dishes and Italian food culture, it was 10PM before we even knew it! After our epic meal was over we all had a chance to pay compliments directly to both Ale and Chef RIchard Witting. It was an intimate type of conversation that you will not have the chance to experience anywhere but here. I urge you to do yourself a favor. Visit the Agricola Farm website, buy yourself the dinner club for the month of June and spend the next few weeks anticipating your adventure. Go into this dinner with a big open mind. Leave your expectations behind and prepare to be amazed, delighted, and beyond satisfied!
