The only tweak I'd recommend is asking for extra tomato and extra garlic sauce to transform a "solid lunch" to "desktop escape hatch from the workday." Since I'm working a 12-hour shift today, I decided to fully commit to the survival kit and treat myself to their Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup too . I am so sad to write this review. I've been here several times before. Always to get coffee drinks and strawberries dubai multiples to take out when meeting friends. Always delish but the shop needs some work & to remember they are not just a carry out shop. I was there near dinner time most recently. I've seen on social media these beautiful meals and this cheesy zatar bread. There was no in the shop and I ordered a meal I said I would eat there and the Dubai strawberries I asked to be made to go. The vegetable pie he called it but it seemed like a mini pizza. He brought to my table wrapped in foil --not hot, not on a plate, no silverware or napkins. When I asked for a napkin (none are out) it was difficult for him to find them. (side note: Months ago I was in and also asked for a napkin and they could only bring me some toilet tissue so this is an ongoing issue.) Previously, the coffee drinks were great and the Dubai strawberries excellent. I live 25 min away so I made the drive each time just to get food and drinks here. Today will be my last visit. Terrible experience w service and food. I spent $23 and had a pie that was not very fresh and not warmed. The biscoff coffee (btw the chalk board showed mostly Xmas drinks here we are almost into April)) was what the young man at the counter suggested There was no regular drink menu, so I just got what he suggested -- but it was horrible! I have had this at other shops and it was wonderful -- I literally threw way after one taste. Not sure how it was ok bad but it was. On to the Dubai strawberries which was the reason I first visited this shop a year ago. These have always been so amazing. I picked up 6 once for a group and they all swooned. That was then but no more. Most of the strawberries in my cup should not have been served -- they were either over ripe or bad and all of the pistachio cream was all in a puddle at the bottom of the cup. I did scrape as much of that as I could to eat --lol--but threw out more than 3/4 of the cup as it was completely inedible. This turned out to be an expensive trip for food that was of poor quality and service. And I went to another shop to get lunch after this. I hope they get their place up to speed -- it's seems when they are good they are very good and when they are bad they are horrid. Such a shame. I will watch to see what happens in the future but I can't waste my time, gas, or money until things improve. It has such potential and any restaurant that has repeat customers, like myself, who then leave -- is a big deal accustomed satisfaction and retention is what makes or breaks a business. And if it happens to one customer, it has happenes to others. I'll stick w the newer place on W 117th now, a creperie on the near west side of Cleveland. It has coffee & desserts including kataifi-pistachio cream topped desserts that make the Dubai strawberries. But I really want the this place to improve and succeed and then I'll return here. But after today, it's a solid no for me. read more

Showed up at 7:50 on a Sunday and doors were locked. Apple Maps, and Google all state they do not close till 10pm. Even their Facebook states open till 10pm. We called to ask if they had the Dubai strawberry cups at 7:15 and they let us know the cups were sold out but they had other Dubai strawberry stuff and never mentioned closing at 8. We pulled in the parking lot and could see someone working but when we checked the door it was locked. We drove up here 40 mins for a Mother's Day treat. Super disappointed. read more

We have been multiple times and the shop is open inconsistently and we have ordered items and received incorrect things. For example, we were trying to order a few flavored iced teas and the worker was not understanding, we pointed to the menu and then ended up getting all different flavored lemonades. We tried to explain the situation but there was no going back. Not a huge deal but when you pay for certain items and you don't get them, it makes you not want to return. read more

I came here with a friend for two reasons: try their coffee and try their strawberry dubai cups. I have since been back for the dubai cup and the Turkish delight. We actually sat inside to drink our coffees. The coffee options, if you're getting one of the flavored lattes, are quite sweet. The strawberry dubai chocolate cup is very sweet, aa is to be expected, but tasty. The strawberries tasted fresh and pair well with the pistachio cream and chocolate. We also opted for some savory pastries to cut through the sweetness and it was a good choice. Overall what we tried was rich and sweet in the best way. read more

I really wanted to like this place, especially after seeing so many positive reviews on social media. I stopped by specifically to try the Dubai chocolate strawberries, and they were actually pretty good--I'd definitely try them again, though maybe from somewhere else next time. The interior could use a little TLC. The menus looked worn and could use a good wipe-down. It felt like the shop was juggling a lot at once--overnight oats, cakes in the cooler (which didn't look particularly fresh), and some fried items. I tried one of the fried goods, but it wasn't fresh at all--I couldn't even finish it. I also ordered a chicken bowl, but unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The chicken didn't taste fresh, and the overall presentation just wasn't appetizing--I didn't even feel compelled to take a photo, which says a lot. The staff were polite, though they seemed more engaged in their own conversation than with customers. Still, I appreciated their pleasant demeanor. It's a shame because the place seemed so promising, but I don't think I'd try any of the other food offerings. I came across this place on TikTok. A user posted a review of this place. And I knew I had to try it out. The decode is very nice. And well thought out. The staff were extremely friendly. And very busy. I ordered the Beef Shawarma wrap along with onion rings. I topped it off with some type of dessert. A strawberry and chocolate concoction. The beef shawarma was beyond delicious. It was very flavorful with plenty of toppings inside. The onion rings were cooked to perfection The strawberry concoction was awesome. It had a green color chocolate. "Welcome" is the first thing i heard when I walked in the door of this little gem. And that "welcomed" feeling stuck with me through the entire experience of this home-cooked, Palestinian meal. The girls behind the counter were friendly. The decor piqued my attention as I waited for food - articles about Palestine, beautiful pictures, and a wonderful painting on the wall that only reinforced that feeling I had of being with friends and family for a meal. On top of all that, the falafel bowl was spectacular. Packed with my favorite flavors, light yet filling, and enough for 2 or 3 meals, it was a treat for the tastebuds. The second you step in to black seed cafe and grill, the ambience was beautiful and takes you back overseas. Additionally, the painting on the wall was beautiful! (See photos attached) They have a wide variety of special coffee drinks (knafa definitely caught me off guard, but in a good way). I ordered the chicken shawarma and beef shawarma wrap sandwich. Took an average amount of time. The sandwiches tasted great and were fully loaded and not dry like a lot of other places I've ordered them at. They were decent overall with the taste though. This place is amazing. I stopped here because it was mentioned as one of the best places to go. I didn't think it was going to be perfect...it was. The staff was very friendly. I asked for a suggestion on drinks. Biscoff Latte was recommended and was on point with taste. The drink didn't last long. The broccoli you would think would be basic, it wasn't. I added some of the lemon juice from the wedge in there and I was quick to eat it. The gyro was huge and delicious. I couldn't finish it. There was an eye appealing dessert. A strawberry cup with chocolate and pistachio sauce. There was even a crunching topping that looked like cheese on top but wasn't. I'm not sure what it was but it added texture to it that made it even more irresistible. The location had about nine tables with a counter along the window for viewing outside if you choose to eat in. I had taken my home. I think I found a new place to frequent. The first two times I've ordered from here it was very tasty, generous portions, and a fair amount of sauce. I loved it, it tasted very authentic. I decided to grab takeout since I was in town. I asked for everything that comes with the chicken shawarma bowls for my husband and I. I also requested all sauce, garlic, tahini..etc, on the side since we had to drive 45 minutes home with our food. When arriving home, we had received only hot sauce on the side of our order. Nothing else. Our bowls were different sizes with little chicken and veggies. Lots of tomatoes and rice. Some pieces of chicken were dry, some not. I went to Black Seed yesterday (Thursday) evening and it wasn't too busy. It's a really beautiful cafe and comfortable atmosphere. There was music but it wasn't too loud. I got the falafel sandwich and my mom got the chicken shawarma. I've had a lot of falafel sandwiches in my 40 years of life but there's no contest. This one was the absolute best I've ever had. Fresh and warm falafel, perfect amount of sauce, crispy, a little spicy and a little tangy but never overwhelming. My mom loved her meal as well. We were both full and saved the last 1/4 of the sandwiches for later. A few hours later, still amazing! Yesterday was my first time going to Black Seed and it was so good, were going back today! This place has quickly become a household favorite and I've gotten tons of friends to try it out. First off the popular Dubai Strawberry cups are amazing and have become a local staple. They literally have long lines of people to get the cup or the Dubai chocolate and it's worth the wait...sometimes they sell out. But don't let that distract because they have an array of yummy drinks to try from match to coffee specialties as the food is one of the most flavorful Mediterranean dishes we've had. The chicken schwarma literally is more than enough for 2 meals because they give so much and the gyros are huge and so tasty. We haven't gone wrong with anything here and with it being so close we have easily become regulars. Service is always great with very kind young ladies running the front and older adults the back. I arrived late on a Sunday evening in hopes of grabbing a couple of the Dubai strawberry cups; unfortunately they were so popular that day, they were out of the cups, but instead she convinced me to try the homemade Dubai chocolate! (I think she said someone from New York makes it fresh and overnight ships...?) It was a delicious alternative! She was super sweet and suggested that if I was able to call ahead next time, she would even try to have more cups ready. Customer service was soooo good. Everyone was very friendly. I talked to the barista and cashier for ten minutes while I waited for my food. I got the Mint Lemonade with peach and it was literally one of the best drinks l've ever had. You could taste everything. Nothing got lost. It was so so fresh. Then I tried the Lavender Honey latte. My daughter and I just had the MOST AMAZING MEAL EVER!!!!!! The place sends me back to old Jerusalem with the pictures in the walls, Saada the owner who is also the chef is amazing, I have always loved her food ever since she was cooking for the wedding venues. She cooks with heart and her soul she puts everything in her amazing meals, I ordered the beef sharwarma bowl everything is so beautifully put in this bowl I honestly didn't know how to start it. Her little details like the chair in the corner her plants her little details on the tables and that beautiful mural on the wall. She really put her soul in this place and it shows!!!!!!! I visited today because I'm excited to see a local option on this end of town. My hope was that I simply LIKED it. I wasn't expecting to be blown away. First of all, it's absolutely adorable in there. I ordered the falafel bowl and the mint lemonade. Both were knock-your-socks-off good. The falafel was the best I've ever had and the bowl had so much interest and flavor to it. The mint lemonade was a nice foil for those flavors.
