Staff was friendly and on point from beginning to end. They do take the dress code seriously, I saw people get turned away for athletic wear. It's clear on their website and not asking too much for an upscale night out. Prices weren't ridiculous, especially since portions were plentiful. A lot of people were leaving with leftovers. The specialty drinks are a bit pricey tho. The cornbread and Mac n cheese are a must order the moment you sit down to start things off. Both served in a small skillet, perfect to share. The cornbread bread was flavorful and the butter that comes on top you def want to let that melt right in! The Mac n cheese noodles were a little softer than I would of preferred but the blend of cheeses and the crisp crust on top made me not worry about the doneness of the noodles, it was top notch! We went classic with the entrees - catfish with gulf shrimp. The catfish was cooked perfect super tender and flaky. I wasn't thrilled with the shrimp, for "gulf shrimp" as they listed in the menu they were a lot Smaller than I expected and a little tough. The sauce they came in was nice. I would have liked some kind of sauce on the side for the catfish. The collard green rice was delicious and the broccoli that came with it was prob the most delicious broccoli I've ever had, just cooked well in lots of butter! The other entree we got was the fried chicken. Really delicious and tender. It came with a sweet potato side that was yummy and a classic collard greens Even tho we were stuffed we had to try the bread pudding, it was served with a Side of delicious ice cream. The bread pudding was perfect! I would definitely return even just to eat and try more menu items but the jazz club is a must do! Beautifully decorated and classy establishment all around

It was more of a playful nostalgic environment rather than a place where I would eat, but for a quick strong cocktail or beer it was a fantastic hang out. There were several of us and the bar was slammed. Loved the Ms Pac-Man arcade game and the Godzilla pinball machine next to the dart board. The gender neutral bathroom was a disaster and loved it. The door had a posted sign as a warning, "One Urinal, One Toilet, One Lock". The walls and ceiling (yes ceiling) was plagued with colorful marker ink and stickers, basically graffiti. Was not sure if I was permitted to add to the decor, but I wanted too so badly. Surprisingly, the sink, urinal, and toilet was so clean that the white porcelain shined against the graffiti. The retro-inspired geometric pattern of white and black hexagons created an inviting tile floor. If you are visiting Philly, you gotta take a peek. Guaranteed this is a stop you wont soon forget.

I love places where you can come in, grab a drink, listen to some good live music and just enjoy yourself without feeling like you have to make a whole production out of the evening. Cellar Dog gave me exactly that kind of vibe. Between the music, atmosphere and great service, I had a really enjoyable experience. It's a nice option in Center City when you're looking for something a little different from the typical bar experience. I would definitely come back, especially for another happy hour with live music!

Shout out to the friendly staff, especially bartender Tahj! Speaking of bars, Cellar Dog has beer, wine, and cocktails. And a house green tea shot. Hungry? They've got typical bar food. I like their Cellar dog - a hot dog is perfect with almost any drink, especially at a reasonable $4 (credit accepted). I've been here on quiet nights, and haven't experienced a cover charge (yet). There's a stage for live performances, and plenty of TVs playing sports (usually). Like pool? There's +4 tables available when you're feeling competitive.

I love the fact that they kept the original signage from the bar that was here before. The inside is full of character and charm. They serve coffee and pastries during the day and natural wine at night. They also have a music venue in the back with shows happening all throughout the month. They have a huge vinyl collection and only play vinyl while you sip and enjoy. This particular day, a few folks were working remote from the cafe tables. We were on vacation and decided to drink some wine. The bartender was so friendly and allowed us to try a few really unique selections. They had natural wine from Uruguay, South Africa, and plenty of other places. The South African wines were probably some of my favorite -- sooo unique and like nothing I've tried before. They also have a small bottle shop where you can make purchases for takeaway, which we ended up doing ourselves. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone who's a fan of coffee, natural wine, or vinyl!

Everyone we interacted with was absolutely wonderful and pleasant, ranging from the team members to our fellow patrons. I had a gin and Sprite to drink and I ordered the burger for some grub. The drink was standard but on the strong side. I enjoyed the burger very much and found the fries to be hot and crispy, just as a good shoestring fry should be. Of course, we enjoyed the live music that swirled around the bar that evening. The band was great and upbeat. I would definitely return!

I've been to TIME multiple times over the last month alone and have always loved the food, music,…read moreatmosphere, and service, which is exactly why I chose to bring friends visiting from out of town here on a Friday night. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I've had. We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived at 7:15 PM. I acknowledge that we were late and apologized to the host. However, we arrived within the stated grace period. When we checked in, the hostess explained that because we arrived later within the grace period, our 90-minute seating window would still end based on the original reservation time. We acknowledged that and had absolutely no issue with it. What made the experience uncomfortable was how aggressively we were reminded about the time throughout the entire meal. We were reminded at least 5-6 separate times how much time we had left. Comments like "just so you know you have 25 minutes left" and "our next party is coming in 5-10 minutes" made it feel like staff was actively trying to rush us out before our reservation time had even ended. Mind you, we already understood the policy. One reminder would have been enough. Instead, it completely changed the energy of the evening and made us feel unwelcome and pressured to leave. We had originally planned to stay through our reservation and then move to the bar for the live music afterward, but after being repeatedly rushed, we decided to leave entirely and spend the rest of the night elsewhere. The most disappointing part was the interaction with the manager, Eric. Rather than listening or showing any understanding, he immediately became defensive and aggressive. He repeatedly insisted we were "15-20 minutes late," which was simply not true -- we arrived during the stated grace period. The issue was never the policy itself. It was the way we were treated throughout the night. It's unfortunate because this has genuinely been one of my favorite spots in Philly, and I've recommended it to multiple people. But this experience left a really bad impression, especially when bringing guests from out of town.

I used to frequent this place a decade ago. I went here last evening for their 2024 December…read moreholiday setup and it was not good. The decor is pretty so you can take strategic photos to give the impression of a good time but it basically has an ice skating rink, dusty arcade, concession stands with generic carnival/fair food, a merry go round (pretty to look at but I could have a better time doing jug handles in Nj), fire pit seating (one open seating and the other reserved), and there's a $20 charge to park. Now I came here on a Wednesday night. The place was practically empty. The security scanned my friend, nephew, and me. However, my nephew's gf was not scanned bc the security guard says she looks safe/fine (she's a different ethnicity and I'll leave it at that). When we walked into the empty reserved fire pit section a security guard came over to redirect us bc this was the "paid/voucher" section. Now, we didn't even sit down and I was trying to ask him what else can we do here etc. he couldn't even focused on my questions just tunnel vision about having us go over to the free fire pit section. Like sir chill out all we we were trying to do is understand the area and how to navigate it. So we walk over to the free fire pit section the ambers from the pit blow in the wind and that's scary but we say there for maybe 5 mins bc again this place looks better than it actually is. We walked through the lack luster concession stand area to the arcade. My friend played guitar hero and one of the buttons didn't work so that's a fail plus he's a hard core guitar hero fan. We exited the arcade to go to the Ferris Wheel that no one was on. It's pretty. The security guards near that were actually nice and kind. We didn't ride it. I think that's a level of insanity I haven't reached to be the only ones on a giant rotating circle in the freezing cold. Now if I wanted a great photo mayhaps.... Then we paused realizing like a bug at a bug light in the summer this was a bad idea so we left. If you have tiny children under 11 they might enjoy the lights. If you're an influencer great place for holiday themed photos. If you're trying to show people new to Philly a good time..... then it's a no. It seems to be some construction too. The occupant space is small. I will say other summer or other festival types might be better. This Christmas holiday winter city thing is a hard pass. :( not happy
