Wow! I can't believe I haven't been here before this. It's amazing! Love the indoor and outdoor seating and the game room with darts and board games. Fun vibe. Cant speak for the food because we just enjoyed a beer (or two). Love the ale selections and the person taking our order was nice and helped with the beer selection turn. I'll be back!

This places deserves the great reviews it has. Awesome beer/cider, delicious food, great vibe, and fabulous service! So happy I can walk here from my place!

Stopped in here on a Tuesday evening with friends after having not been here for a couple of years. If you haven't been here, parking can be a little tricky, because you have to enter at Saint Johns and Lamar. The menu pictured below is fairly simple. We decided on the fish and chips and burger. Basically, the food was pretty good, but it seemed a little bit over priced. I was glad to see they give you a helping of malt vinegar for the fish, however, they don't give you tartar sauce, instead it is garlic mayonnaise. Also, make sure you ask for mayonnaise and mustard if you order the burger because it does not come with it. Their house beers are solid and well-made. You will be surprised to know that there is no tipping allowed at this establishment. It's a place I would certainly return to sooner than later.

Nice location. They have a patio area which is nice and a stage inside for live music. They have food options, we got fries and they weren't my favorite. I wouldn't order them again. The beer options for the flight, I felt were limited to my likings. The dark beer which was a stout, didn't taste like one to me. It was a lighter stout. The pilsner's and ales were fine. There's a train stop close so it's not a place spot to chill and watch a game on tv.

Maybe in house is better than ordering Favor .... because this was the most boring & dry fish sandwiches I've had in a long time. No extra tarter.. fries cold.. and the Favor app menu doesn't indicate fries come w the meal so I ordered them as a side.. but if I'd have known I would've tried something as a side. All good.. just cold & a lot of em now.

Never had an issue before this but it is totally unacceptable. 20 dollar base price fish and chips with no modifications. Fries were soft and soggy. And to call this fish and chips is a tragedy. One single fish strip and some soggy fries. Do not order this blatant rip of off a meal

Came here with some friends on a Friday night and it really wasn't that busy. Bar vibes that also serve food. There's board games and such that you can bring to your table to play with your friends. Thought the food menu was just okay. Nothing really great that was popping out at me. The original dish i wanted to order apparently they were out of some of the ingredients which made me have to decide again what I wanted (the menu wasn't great selections). My pasta dish I was a bit disappointed in it- for it being advertised as a butternut pasta dish i expected there to be far more butternut squash in it than there was. My friend is a huge beer drinker and allowed the cashier to pick one of the beers for her flight, which she wasn't a fan of at all. The same friend also used to come here often a few years back in college and felt the place has gone down a bit overall. Honestly wouldn't return and would rather find somewhere else to try if I'm in Austin again.

I love a good brewery and what makes this place special is that it is a cooperative that pays a living wage and tips are not allowed. I think this may be why the staff seemed to actually enjoy their job and what they do. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and a lot of their brews were sold out but I did enjoy the Bohemian Lager I ended uo with and all of the food items we ordered were top notch. They also had a DJ/Trivia Host and it was cool to see groups come in for that.

I saw this place every time I went to an Asian market in this area, so it has been on my list for some time and finally tried it! The name of the place is brewery, but it was more like a pub-vibe restaurant. They had daily special menu, large selection for draft beer and wine. (You can taste beer if you're not sure what to get). For food, we got fried cauliflower, chicken wings and kale salad, all of them were very delicious, we also liked their fast service!

Someone else's burger (she let me photo). She said it was 10/10.

A haven during a thunderstorm. The sky violently opened and needed a last minute retreat. Not only was the vibe on point. Great spot to gather with friends or find a table to finish the work you left the office early for. Then the food was dynamo. They just got a new captain in the kitchen from MS and he served up amazing flavors. And I hear soul food flavors may make its appearance in the coming weeks! If you're around in May, go on Thursdays for their $15 steak frites special!! Unheard of in ATX! Support a spot supporting the locals' wallet. And say give a hard time to Mr Clean Plaid Shirt, he's a comedian. Good times all around.

Brewpub: dog-friendly, veggie options, friendly staff and strong wifi! SCORE! Came through with a good friend and my pup. We loved it. Pups have to stay outdoors, but you're allowed to bring them indoors to place your order. They have tons of beer options, great in-house brews. I was floored by their options! I always go for the flight when I try a new brewery to get a better taste of what they offer. I loved pricing: 4 for $10, and my favorites were the Island Baby (pineapple what!!) and juicy Fructis hazy IPA. They had a bit of everything, so that's always nice for beer geeks. Quench my palate, Black Star! They have their beer menu overhead--super easy to read. They also have great happy hour, but we arrived later after it was over. The food menu is on the paper menu that they have at the front of the line. Grab yourself the menu while someone stands in line for ya! They also offer food specials for that day. It looked good--I think it was some sort of tofu (veg) tacos, but I wanted fries...so went with their avocado club. It was a bit heavy on the mayo, but it tasted great. Their chips...crisps...fries whatever you want to call em were the REAL WINNER. Y'all. Fries are so crispy and uneven...wedge-style. BUT not dry or lukewarm. They are delicious. I would go back just for their addictive fries. Trust me. They also offer the impossible burger too for veg folks, and other options like grilled cheese. I just love how veg-friendly they are. THANK Y'ALL. Grilled cheese gets old for us who don't eat meat. The atmosphere is very chill and with a darker ambiance. It seems like the perfect spot for group hangs or a relaxed date. Parking was easy, especially since there's a customer parking structure that's free. It's also close to public transportation if you choose to take it. I love this spot--I can see this becoming a new favorite.

We like coming back to this location for the great food and beer selection. They have a large group and dog-friendly patio seating area that this part of Austin really needs. Their service is great and friendly. I recommend coming here with a growler for some of the best beer brewed in Austin. The food is always excellent and never disappoints, regardless of what we select.

Black Star sponsors Barks for Beers every May, raising funds for therapy dogs like me! They have some sweet merch of their own, as well.

A shady porch, games for everyone, inside and out, family friendly, dog friendly and oh so yum! This place has it all. The food is outstanding, particularly the avocado club. During May, they sponsor Barks for Beers supporting Divine Canines Therapy dogs. You buy a Pawsport for about $30 and get a free draw at over two dozen local craft brewers! Miss Sophia will be around to greet you most of May, and whenever else her human wants something good to eat! One of Austin's hidden gems

Regardless of the food or ambiance the server is the face of the establishment. Bad service can easily lead to a bad review. In this case the waitress, when she finally showed up, was not friendly. She was indifferent, like we were bothering her, and had a borderline RUDE attitude. The clincher was her assumption on who was paying the bill. We waited a good ten minutes for her to initially show up. When she got to the table the first thing she asked for was a credit card to cover the drinks we ordered; which I thought was strange since our family was sitting at a table and ordering dinner. After the food was delivered she never returned to check on us. Other servers had to get us refills and were happy to do so. When she finally returned at the end of the meal with the bill , all smiles of course, she had already run the credit card without ever giving us the bill to review??? The card she asked for, for the drinks, was NOT meant to pay the bill. We were going to split the bill but since she already ran the card the cardholder didn't feel comfortable asking her to rerun the card. This was VERY awkward!! None of us have EVER experienced anything like this ever!! I wish I had gotten her name. I'm giving a 2 star review because everyone though the food was good.

"Nosh & Bevvy Won't Forgive Me for All the Ways They Wronged Me"…read more That title is meant to be ironic. After more than fifteen years as a customer, I made one mistake: a four-dollar tab discrepancy on a day when I had just been turned away from a dental appointment because my blood pressure was too high for treatment. I was upset, distracted, and wanted to be around people I believed were my friends. That was the last day I ever stayed there as a customer. Let's go down the list. I have been accused of skipping out on my tab. The truth is that after fifteen years of faithful patronage, there was one incident involving approximately four dollars. I had added items to my order, paid cash, and made a mistake. One mistake in fifteen years. After that happened, I became concerned that I would continue to be treated as though I couldn't be trusted. In my experience, comments about unpaid tabs continued to surface. Rather than create another misunderstanding, I made a point of being generous. On the very next occasion I tipped Charlie more than fifty percent. Instead of feeling appreciated, I arrived the next time feeling insulted when the entire amount was simply pocketed without so much as an acknowledgment. Maybe others see that differently. That's how it felt to me. The situation became even more disturbing when interactions began taking place outside the bar itself. While standing in front of my own home, I experienced conduct that I considered harassment. As a result, I filed a police report and have the corresponding case number in my email records. What disturbed me even more were stories that reached me through people connected to my former partner. According to what we were told, false rumors were being circulated claiming that my ex-girlfriend had committed suicide. Whether people thought this was gossip, entertainment, or somehow harmless, it was not. The psychological harm caused by spreading something like that is difficult to overstate. Shame on everyone involved. What you don't know is Satara an I  spoke with witnesses that completely implicated Gilbert in the rumor. What strikes me now is that I nearly forgave all of this. I removed earlier reviews because I genuinely wanted to move on. I thought it was over. I thought everyone could move on with their lives. Apparently not. If people insist on dragging the issue back into the light, then here it is. The reality is that I don't even particularly miss the place. What I do object to is being disrespected. When a business chooses to disrespect a customer who supported it for fifteen years, there are consequences. One of those consequences is that customer telling his side of the story publicly. A Message to the Staff: If I believe I am being harassed in public--whether at Night Owl or anywhere else--I will pursue every legal remedy available to me. Nice pub located in a strip center off Burnet close to 183 area. Convenient. Came for sports and drinks and that's what we got! Bartenders were super friendly especially the woman bartender.
